Thoroughly enjoyed my stay

I recently stayed here for just under a week. I enjoyed the stay very much. The house reminded me of visiting relatives up north. It was 5 minutes from many restaurants, and 10 minuts from downtown. I enjoyed being close but far enough away. The house was clean and had all the amenities. The owners were more than helpful. The master bed was comfortable, the showers were hot, the internet worked, and the a/c was cold. In the end I would stay at the house again in a heartbeat, and would recommend it to my friends.

We were very disappointed with the accommodations. Before arrival we had confirmed with owner that wifi was available as needed access for work. However, never could hook up to wifi and owner had no interest in remedying the situation. As a result could not conduct business. Listing photos do not accurately reflect the homes appearance and amenities. Home had a thick layer of dust throughout and was not close to being clean. Rug in living room was heavily stained and very dirty. Kitchen oven was filthy!!! Looked as though it had not been cleaned in 2 years. Have photos to prove it. We were not about to clean the oven or cook in it! Exterior of kitchen trash can was filthy and didn't want to touch it! Rear kitchen door to communal hallway had a 2 inch hole where a door handle should have been. There was a constant musty smell that was quite overpowering. Could go on and on complaining but boils down to the fact that the property was simply not at all clean or well maintained for a vacation facility! Felt that these accommodations were so inferior to the listing description that we left a.s.a.p. and unfortunately had to cut our vacation short. Cannot recommend this property in its' present state to anyone and definitely wouldn't recommend to a friend or relative. Have logged a complaint with VRBO

A very charming, older home with lots of character. Rooms are a nice size, our family of four never felt cramped. Lots of nearby cafe's, bars and attractions. Just blocks from downtown without feeling like you are.

Sarah, Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home in September, while we in the area for our son's graduation from Basic Training at Ft Knox. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Your home is warm and welcoming, with early 1900's charm. It was everything that we had hoped for and more; a perfect place to relax with our daughters! We appreciated all of the tips you gave us on dining out, and about the area, in general. We enjoyed the 'Back Home Resturant', in Elizabethtown, where the food, the service and the atmosphere were perfect! Dessert at the, "Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen" on Bardstown Rd, was amazing, and it is just a short distance from Hepburn Ave. We also enjoyed seeing Churchhill Downs and the Louisville Slugger Museum; and if you get to the museum, you are just a short walk away from Luigi's Pizzeria-a fun place to eat lunch, and to try more delightful desserts! Overall, our trip to the Louisville area was positive, and Sarah's hospitality was wonderful! We loved the charm of the neighborhood and our time at "The Hepburn House". We would definitely stay there again!

Try to find accommodations for 4 people, 1 day notice, coming from 3 different states for a funeral? I never thought it would turn out so well, thankfully it did. A charming house with good character in a very nice neighborhood, close to the Louisville airport(SDF). Looked like the porch and back patio would be fun in the summer, grills, rocking chairs and such. I never felt unsafe. Additionally, I really can't say ENOUGH nice things about the generosity and hospitality of this owner. She went WAY above and beyond to extend a helping hand in our time of need. I would write all she did but I don't want that to be an expectation. The house is enough to sell it, the owner was a dream.
