This is a lovely, sweet, affordable and clean little unit. It is one of the very few "free-standing/stand-alone" units within the Paniolo Complex. It is one of the much quieter units within Paniolo as it sits on the side that fronts the Prince Golf Course- not the street.

We also took advantage of the option last year to license our unit through the County of Kauai which passed a law not allowing new private Vacation Rentals within Princeville, so you can be assured that your deposit is safe with us! We will send you a copy of the license with the information packet we have available upon request.

Retirement Treat

Guest: Mimi (Roanoke, VA)
Date of Stay: 07/11/11 Review Submitted: 07/29/11

I spent three weeks in this cozy cottage as a retirement present to myself. My daughter and her family live in Kilauea so she suggested the complex as a great location. I then found this little gem. It is so roomy for a studio with everything there for cooking. The thing I love most about it is the open layout that allows a cool breeze to blow through all day and night. The complex has a great pool, it is very quiet, an easy walk to shopping and restaurants at the Princeville Center, and has a nice collection of books (I read several while there). Owners sent me so much useful information and it was nice having them an email away. It exceeded my expectations and I had a wonderful vacation. Thanks Valerie Mae Edwards

Just Perfect!

You really don't need more than this studio cottage has to offer. It's affordable, great location, clean, adorable and has all the amenities you could ask for. There's a wonderful deck to relax on that looks out to the trail leading to an amazing beach and a lush golf course. We've stayed at this cottage twice and would go back again. It's hard to find a better deal in a super location on the island. We can't wait to go back!

Best value on the island - beautiful, great location, very clean!

My husband and I stayed at this quaint (yet spacious) island cottage during our very first trip to Hawaii, and it was far beyond our expectations. Driving to the north part of Kauai, the views were beautiful. We entered the wonderful neighborhood/golf town of Princeville and were greeted by a cascading lit waterfall monument, after which we easily found the our home away from home. Upon entering the cottage, we immediately envisioned it were a page out of a vacation home magazine! The decor was perfect - island paintings on the wall, netting strung above the bed waving in the warm breeze, and tropical flowers awaiting us on the kitchen table (not to mention the delicious baked bread that welcomed us). There was a bit of Hawaiian character speckled throughout, neatly laid magazines and books of island activities and history and cute island figurines. It was exactly what we needed with the convenience of cooking in the cottage and close proximity to the local stores, restaurants and best of all the ocean. Enjoy a quiet morning walk to the ocean listening to the birds and the breeze. We couldn't have asked for more and immediately fell in love with this place - so much that 2 years later we have returned to Hawaii and again stayed at our new favorite island dwelling. If you're looking for a place to stay that's beyond a typical cookie-cutter hotel room, then you've found the right place. Experience the North Shore of Kauai without paying hundreds of dollars per night. 5 stars!

WHAT A GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

We loved our stay in the cottage which was easy to find, absolutely delightful inside and had everything we needed. It is in a great location and was well situated for all the places we wanted to visit. We particularly enjoyed the Farmers' Market in Hanalei. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to our next opportunity to get back again!

Perfect Peace of Heaven!

This condo was the perfect place to stay during our getaway to Hawaii! The location was great--near some of the most beautiful beaches. It was comfortable and beautiful at the same time! There are many artistic and homey touches to the place that made it pleasant to relax in when we weren't at the beach! We used the kitchen as well as other amenities, like mats and chairs, that would have been bulky to bring on the plane. The manager was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable, and it was nice and quiet. There is no place we would rather stay in Kauai!

Tropical Heaven

Beautiful paintings are the first thing that greet you as you enter the cottage. It is clean , quiet and charming and has a wonderful "vibe". We awoke to the sound of gentle rain and local birds in the lush trees that surround the property. Having the kitchen was such a plus and it was lovely going to local farmer's markets and even Costco and cooking locally. A great location on the lush North Shore close to the beautiful Tunnels beach (our favorite) and Hanalei Bay. Walking trails, walk to Ainini beach, the Princeville resort. A beautiful idyll of a vacation. Would return in a heartbeat!

Charming Cottage

Guest: Valerie (Malibu)
Date of Stay: 04/12/09 Review Submitted: 11/01/10

I have stayed at this cottage 3 times and look forward to returning in the future. It had everything I needed to enjoy my vacation, including a beach umbella, grass mats and plenty of towels. Since I do a lot of shopping at the Farmer's Markets there is a large fridge to keep things fresh and a kitchen/dining room area and patio to enjoy my meals. The bathroom includes a shower and a bath tub if I wanted a bubble bath in the evenings to relax. The Queen size bed was very comfortable and the tv/dvd set kept me entertained in the evenings. It is close to my favorite beach in the whole world Hanalei Bay, a library, plenty of stores including a health food store and many restaurants. It was always clean and decorated in the Hawaiian style, so I felt completely at home. The swimming pool was just steps away and very quiet and not crowded. The owners were very helpful in answering any questions I had and responded to me immediately when I called them. I have recommended this property to my friends and they were happy with their time there. It is the perfect get-a-way for one or two people who are looking for a reasonably priced (which is rare in Princeville)vacation. Sincerely, Valerie Sklarevsky

Cozy!!! Definitely a lot of room for 2. (3 1/2 stars really)

We had an amazing time in Kauai. 4 short days but Maluhia Moon Cottage felt like home. It looked exactly like the pictures so there were no surprises. Basic necessities, by American standards and then some were met. It was definitely a plus to be able to prepare meals if you wanted to and a refrigerator to keep drink icy cold. Your parking space was directly outside the unit and the swimming pool was a few feet away. Nice and breezy lanai with footpath leading down to Wylie/Anini Beach (steep grade so don't wear your flipflops). Paniolo is next door to Westin and a couple of miles to St. Regis and Queen's Bath (saw turtles during high tide here). There is shopping center less than 5-minute drive and I wish that the condo has a Foodland Maika'i card so that you don't have to sign up for one during your short stay. Really close Hanalei(10 minutes), Anini Beach(15 minutes) and Kilauea(20 minutes). North Shores Charters is located in Kilauea and they probably has the most northern departure of all Na Pali Coast boat tours (Capt Gary is awesome). Village Snack & Bakery for no-frills local fare, Hanalei Dolphin pricey but their seafood chowder is yummy. Kilauea Bakery in Kong Lung Center sells yummy macaroons but watch for burnt cookies, inspect before you pay. While in Kilauea, do visit Banana Patch Studio (there are only 2 stores in the whole HI islands and the other one is in Hanapepe - west shore) for some local artist works. Valerie and Bruce were very helpful and accommodating. I wished we read their guestbooks on our first day because some of the visitors have written about their favorite places in the area so I'd suggest you do so. The condo can get a bit noisy because cars sometimes speed through the main road, and oh, since the parking lot is right outside, other tenants tend to forget what time it is so they may be slamming their car doors. Nevertheless we had excellent time in Kauai and eventhough this condo is in Princeville (prettiest spot on the island) bigger towns like Kapaa and Lihue are only a pretty and fresh air drive away. Enjoy your stay like we did ours! We'll definitely come back.
