Location: Situated on a tranquil river bend, Moondance offers a splendid riverfront vacation for up to 8 people. Located on a lovely street that follows the river, this appealing home is a few minutes of easy, flat walking to downtown Monte Rio, a charming little town with its own movie theater, general store, movie rental, cafés and river beach. This well-situated home is also a few minutes drive to the Northwood Golf Club and about five minutes to Guerneville.
House: Moondance is a traditional river home with gorgeous hardwood floors, high, exposed redwood beam ceilings, vintage art and fabulous river views. The living room includes a leather queen sofa bed, 32" LCD flat screen Cable TV with DVD, and stone fireplace; look in the coffee table for backgammon, chess and other fun activities. The well-stocked kitchen is large enough for several cooks, with quality appliances and its own breakfast table. The formal dining area features a stunning antique dining set. French doors open to a wide deck with hot tub, outdoor dining set, charcoal barbecue and river view. Also opening onto the deck, the master bedroom has a beautifully made up queen bed and a bathroom with tub/shower combination. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. One picturesque bedroom has a queen bed and 25" cable TV with DVD/VCR; the other is cozy with a queen bed and 19" TV with Cable and DVD. If you want to stay connected, Moondance has high-speed wireless Internet access -- just bring your laptop.
Grounds: A short stair from the rear deck leads to a lushly green, wooded back yard that slopes gently to the river. Solid wood deck chairs and side tables furnish a flat, sun-dappled clearing, perfect for gathering, at the head of the river access path. A short dirt path and stairs lead to a seasonal dock where visitors are welcome to use Moondance's two canoes and two single kayaks to journey on the river.

"Staying here is as pleasurable in winter as during the summer months. The house itself is cozy and warm, heated throughout. Windows in every room offer wide, majestic views of the river and forest, calm and quiet but for the flutter of passing blue jays, and the splashing of the occasional otter or sea lion. A soak in the hot tub on the deck is especially delicious in cold weather. The morning mist is magical.
All of the rooms are comfortably and beautifully furnished: we love gathering in front of the big fireplace for games or a movie; the kitchen and dining area are perfect for preparing and enjoying elaborate meals; and sleep in this home is always deeply restful. We can't wait for our next visit."
