Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2008

We are a family of five who live in Portland. I grew up in Michigan and missed the snow and skiing. This place was perfect. Plenty of space to run and roam trails in the summer. Only 25 minutes to the ski resorts in the winter. The kids play in the snow outside the cabin in the winter and in the field in the summer. We just love it.

Why the Owner Chose Hood River

It was easy and quick to visit from Portland. It offered everything we wanted. Snow, Sun, Woods, Firepit, Stars, Wildlife, and everything else you could ask for from a "cabin in the woods". Yet it is only 15 minutes from downtown Hood River. A town consistently voted as one of the best in the country for snow and windsurfing. Plus they have beer tasting and wine vineyards scattered throughout the region. Not to mention apples, pear and just about every type of fruit we love to pick and eat.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

We love riding our bikes on the trails, hiking along the creek, walking to the bigger river, or driving down to Hood River to swim in the Columbia River. In the winter we spend most of our time making snowmen outside the cabin or skiing of the Mt Hood slopes.
