Situated on the west coast of Falmouth, this open, spacious contemporary enjoys gorgeous sunset and ocean views. Cool ocean breezes keep it comfortable all summer. This area of Sippewissett is exclusive and provides a sense of serenity and privacy. A circular drive, holding four or more cars, leads to the home. Enter through double doors to a multi-level solarium that runs the length of the house.
The first level has two large bedrooms, one twin-bedded next to the solarium and the other can be either twins or king bedded with french doors leading to a patio and an HDTV. These bedrooms share a marble bath. The master suite has a queen bed, sitting area with fireplace, marble bath and spa, and French doors leading to patio and gardens.
A grand oak central staircase leads to the second level. This large, light filled open space with a soaring cathedral ceiling, stunning furnishings and original art, features a living area with corner fireplace, a large dining area and a fully-appointed gourmet kitchen. Three sets of French doors lead to a 40 foot deck with chaises, Adirondack chairs, dining furniture, and a gas grill.
In addition, there is a den with sectional couch (sleeps two), built-in desk, WiFi internet connection, cable 46 inch HDTV, DVD Blu-ray player and dozens of games, books and puzzles. A full marble bath completes the second level.
Our private, warm-water beach on Buzzards Bay is a few steps from the house. An enclosed outside shower is available, as is a charming shed to store bicycles. The gardens and patio around the house contain wonderful places for relaxation. Overall there is a romantic quality to the property with its draped wisteria, beach roses and blue hydrangeas. Everything is included for an extraordinary experience in a special part of the world.

Our thanks for an absolutely wonderful stay in mid September. The location in Falmouth - minutes from the beach and a short distance from Woods Hole - is perfect. The interior is just beautiful, with lovely works of art and ocean vistas from the deck. This was a superb spot for a quiet, peaceful, and enjoyable Cape Cod retreat. We look forward to returning!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: We are so happy that you, Anjolie and baby Isabella enjoyed your stay in our house. It was lovely to meet you and are looking forward to welcoming you back to Gunning Point in the near future! Best to all of you! Myra & Richard

My husband, daughter, mother-in-law and I stayed at this wonderful property during early June. Unfortunaltely, we did not hav the best weather with quite a bit of rain and wind. However, the house itself was amazing; we had everything we needed, including baby utensils! We didn't mind that it rained so much because it gave us a chance to stay home and enjoy the house!" It was a very relaxing vacation. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. Regards, The H FamilyRecommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Martha & Paul, We're glad you found everything you needed in the house. When we've rented in the past, we have often found properties lacking in essentials and thus have tried to anticipate all needs and desires to make it easy and comfortable for our guests. Thank you for the lovely comments. . . best to all of you! Myra & Richard

Having just recently stayed in this wonderfully located and equipped home We would like to share our very positive experience with others. Everything that you could think of was provided in the home. Myra and Richard were just so helpful with all the information provided and also backed that up with a lengthy email of more things to do and see. They could not have been more helpful. It was wonderful to "unpack" after our long journey from Australia. We found lovely day trips, walks, shopping, visiting Martha's Vineyard, bike rides, kayak adventures and some fabulous restaurants (The Glass Onion -8 out of 10) in and around Falmouth. As Myra so aptly put it - we fell under the spell of the Cape. The gardens we saw were stunning - Spohr, near Woods Hole, and Heritage Gardens just out of Sandwich. Every day, and we stayed for 13 days, we had a new adventure to look forward to. We are sorry we didn't get to meet you Myra but maybe if you & Richard visit Australia we would love to catch up. Thank you once again for sharing your beautiful home with us. Jan & DennisOwner response: Glad we could help make your vacation special, and how wonderful that you had the time to enjoy so many of Falmouth's treasures. I'll have a whole new list waiting for your return! And when we come back to your beautiful country, we'll definitely visit Western Australia! Wishing you both all the best! Myra & Richard

Finally we're writing this review that we've been planning to do for a year and a half now: Arriving to the Cape the day before my 50th birthday, a family of 6, after a long flight we were warmly welcomed and greeted by Myra and Richard. The house itself was fairly easy to find, following the directions given by the owners. We arrived with expectations set very high and yet we were deeply impressed at first sight. The house is set in a quiet surroundings, close to a private beach. Everything inside and outside the house is immaculate and nothing regarding equipment or comfort was missing. The one thing that impressed us the most was the light and the space on the second floor. Breakfast at the wooden deck of the second floor was pure magic. We would like to extend our gratitude towards Myra and Richard for their hospitality and kindness! Although I'm familiar with the Boston area, this was our first visit to the Cape. Falmouth presented itself as a very picturesque and charming town and the drive there from the house was just a matter of minutes. Falmouth contained practically any shop or service you could potentially need. I couldn't have chosen a better house to stay to celebrate my big 5-0. The next time we'll visit the Cape, this is definitely going to be the house of our choice!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you, Niklas, for the wonderful review. We are thrilled that your "Half Century" birthday celebration was enhanced by your stay at our house. We designed the open, light-filled space on the second floor with just this kind of occasion in mind. Please come back to commemorate your 55th year!! Happy New Year to all! Myra & Richard

The house was immaculate and well designed. There was a huge wow factor when you pulled into the driveway and as soon as you stepped in the house. The pictures of the house doesn't do it justice. The surrounding houses are really beautiful as well, so you are in great company. The yard was equally beautiful. The Hydrangas out front are breathtaking, the yard is big, there are a lot of areas to sit and relax or play. Everything was maintained to perfection. We spent a lot of great time in the yard. It was great for my entire family, two 30 somethings, two young children, two 20 somethings, and grandparents. The house had things for everyone. Great toys, Great games, Fantastic book collection, Beach toys, Beach chairs. A great kitchen for those who love to cook, as we did every night. The real gem of the house is that it is also an art gallery for the owner, Myra. Her art decorates the entire house and really brings it together. Its high quality like everything else. A real added bonus. Super close to beach, Falmouth and Woodshole, and to the great biking trails. Another great feature of the house is that the owners are so kind and accommodating that they take all the weirdness out of renting and make you feel like you are at home. The one downfall of the house is that its hard to leave. I went to Martha's Vineyard, P-town, and Hyannis, but all I wanted to do is go back to the house and to Falmouth. We are definitely coming back. Thank you Myra and Richard.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much, Rob & Jayme, for the lovely comments. We are so happy you all enjoyed your stay in our house, and I am especially touched by your reaction to my paintings. We look forward to your return to Sippewissett, and in the meantime, wish you much joy in the seasons ahead in your beautiful island paradise in St. John, U.S.V.I. Hugs to the whole family!! Myra & Richard

My family and I spend our Easter holiday weekend at this amazing home! This was definitely a "Home" to the fullest definition of the word. We felt at home from the moment we walked in and meet the owners to the last second when we drove away looking in our rearview mirror. It was so spacious yet very warm and had every amenity that one would look for in a rental property. The views are spectacular and the furnishings from sitting areas to the sheets were impeccable. We had young children and grandparents and everyone was satisfied! The house had such wonderful light from all the large windows that even on a rainy dreary day it felt bright and sunny! The kids were especially thrilled that the Easter Bunny was able to find us and even hid all their eggs!!! We will definitely rent this home again and absolutely keep in touch with the owners who have such a positive energy that you feel like you are renting from relatives and not strangers. A+++.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

My husband, myself and our three children (ages 10, 8 and 6) stayed one week in Myra and Richards beautiful house. Driving to the house and seeing the garden already made us feel good, but when Myra and Richard showed us around, we knew that we would have a great time there. Everything is very well maintained and there are lots of details that made us feel at home immediately. I very much liked the colours and the pictures in the house. Our children were very happy with the beach just a very short walk away and other than that didn't want to leave the house ;). They enjoyed the toys Myra and Richard keep at the house for the children. We thank the owners very much for all their help and the quick and very friendly correspondance which made renting the house from overseas easy.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Myself, my husband, 11 year old son and brother-in-law stayed at this property in May 2010. Without a doubt, this is the most fantastic house we have ever stayed in. The property is in a lovely tree lined road and is very peaceful, with a great beach a minutes walk away. The house is on two levels with 3 very comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs and a very large sunroom. On the top level, the massive lounge, dining room and kitchen is absolutely stunning with high ceilings and doors out onto the very large balcony, with stunning views. There is also a very comfortable den with a big T.V, games, books etc. Everything in this house is perfect and you could not want for anything. The place is kept immaculate and the gardens are gorgeous. The owners Myra and Richard are a lovely couple and very helpful with information on the area, where to eat, trips out etc. The location of this house is a great location to visit other parts of Cape Cod and the nearby the village of Woods Hole is very pretty with an interesting marine centre. Also, there are so many restaurants to choose from with the landfall in Woods Hole, being a favorite of ours. We will definately be coming back to this fantastic house and would like to thank Myra and Richard for a holiday we will not forget!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you, Nicole & Peter, for your wonderful comments. We so much enjoyed meeting you and your family and were delighted that you all enjoyed the house and got to see so much of the area. We look forward to welcoming you again to Falmouth in the not too distant future. Wishing you all a "brilliant" summer!!! Hugs to everyone! Myra & Richard

We were a party of 6 (myself, my partner, his 14 year-old son, my 27-year old daughter and her husband, and my 21-year-old daughter). We had a 5-hour drive from a hectic but wonderful 5-night stay in New York to arrive at Cape Cod on Saturday, 11th April 2009 for 9 nights. Myra and Richard were there to greet us and show us around their wonderful rental home (We thought the pictures were lovely enough, but the reality was even better!). The 'great hall' is the incredible first-floor of the home, comprising the living, dining and open-plan kitchen area with lots of windows, and doors leading onto the upper deck area with a barbecue and furniture and a great view of the gardens and ocean (the sunsets were amazing!). The den is also on this floor, with a large flat-screen TV and lounging area that many teenagers would appreciate (and a selection of board games, including Scrabble, to instigate 'freindly' family competition during the evenings when we were eating at home!) We enjoyed the jacuzzi in the master bedroom (room for two at a time), particularly at the end of a day walking and/or cycling! The open plan kitchen enables the 'chef in charge' to be at the centre of everything and not excluded from the social conversations! It was very well equipped and thoughtfully stocked with basic ingredients/spices to avoid having to shop for small quantities of these. We also used the gas barbecue for steaks, chicken, fish, etc. The time of our visit was fairly 'off-season', but this was ideal for avoiding the crowds and being able to go walking, cycling and general sightseeing, including the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, during bright, cool days with blue skies but without the heat of summer or the hassle of peak-time crowds. The location of the house in Falmouth also meant that we had the opportunity to drive out to other areas on the Cape and also to visit family in MA/Connecticut without too long a journey involved. A day trip to Boston is also quite easy if you drive to Braintree (about an hour) and jump on a short train (30 mins), avoiding the ongoing construction work in the city. Our recommended restaurants to eat out in Falmouth were the RooBar and La Cucina Sul Mar, both on Main Street. Excellent quality food, almost as good as our own in-house barbecues!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
