I stayed at this apartment for two weeks and it was perfect. It has all necessary amenities, including washing machine, hairdryer, linen, towels, wifi, cooking facilities (no oven, but who wants to spend their time cooking in Rome?). It is about a 5-10 minute stroll to the Colosseum. The nearest metro line is either Colosseo or San Giovanni. The church at San Giovanni is incredible, I would recommend everyone go see it. Also nearby are the ruins of the Baths of Caracalla - go see those too. There is a place to grab breakfast on the corner of the street and a place across the road which serves food between 12-3pm. There is also a supermarket about 5 minutes away and a place which sells pizza until around 10pm nearby. The owner, Valerio, was wonderful, always contactable and responded immediately. He even sent a helpful guide for tips and restaurants. I hope to return to Rome some day and would definitely love to go back and stay here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Gemma. My greatest pleasure you've enjoyed your stay in Rome ! Wish all the best and ...Arrivederci in Roma ! Valerio

This was a safe, quiet, peaceful little oasis in Rome. The garden apartment is in a very residential neighborhood, reasonably close to the Colosseum if you like longer strolls, but far away from the crowds. Several bus lines are extremely close to the apartment, as well as a few shops and a great coffee bar. The photos don't show it, but there is a washing machine that is great, along with a big drying rack available in the closet. The air conditioning was fantastic, and the thick walls of the building along with the shady garden in back kept the apartment very cool on hot days, even without it. The patio adjacent to the apartment is private. The bed was very comfortable. Valerio was very helpful, friendly, and easy to reach via email. It's clear the apartment is well cared for. This was a nice place for my first visit to Rome!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear April, than you so much for your kind review and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope you'll come back to visit the eternal city soon. Ciao ! Valerio

This rental is located within walking distance of the bus line (and then the metro) and the colliseum, about 3/4 mile or a 20 minute walk. There are no restaurants for dinner in the near area but a good variety on the walk to the colliseum. Great coffee shop and pizzeria right outside the door. Secure and private. Owner met us at the apt., gave us advice on sightseeing and secured transportation to the airport upon our departure.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your comments. Wish all the best, Valerio

The Colosseo Property is a wonderful retreat from the bustle of Rome. The cafe on the the corner is wonderful for breakfast, and the bus stop across the street is incredibly convenient. We highly recommend this property for those visiting Rome. For those arriving by train, we recommend getting a taxi at Roma Termini--the metro and buses will be easier to navigate once you get your bearings.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The appartment is very nice, clean and it includes all the amenities. The owner is very welcoming,he speaks english as well as french. We enjoyed our stay in Rome mainly because of this appartement. After a long day of walk,it's great to come back to a nice play to relax. I suggest the use of the RomaPass during your stay in Rome.It gives you free access to 2museum of your choice and free bus/subway+deals on others museums-activities.If you're planning on visiting the Vatican Museum, buy your tickets in advance unless waiting in line for 1:30 makes you happy. (Booking our tickets in advance was the greatest thing we did!)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The apartment is in a great location, only 10 min walk from the colosseum; and close to a bar, 'corner shop', and not far from a supermarket. The flat was lovely---the divider between living room and bedroom made things nice and cozy for the two of us. It was nice to have a kitchen, though wouldn't want to be too ambitious with cooking here! The owner was very friendly and helpful (easy to contact too). Would definately recommend!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Matt, so glad to hear that you enjoyed it ! Thank you so much. Wish you all the best for Xmas and the new year. Ciao ! Valerio

My husband and I recently stayed at this little apartment for a week. The location was great, able to walk to the Coliseum and Roman Forum as well as tons of restaurants and bars. There is a bus stop right across the street, although the buses sometimes only came every 30 minutes or so. The metro is a little bit of a walk, but not bad. There is a great little coffee shop right on the corner that has great coffee, pasta and sandwiches. The apartment had everything we needed except a washing machine. Small, but perfect for two people. Very clean. The owner was great, met us at the apartment and showed us around. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would love to return one day!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks a lot ! Valerio

We booked our Rome accommodations 4 months before our trip. We had only used vrbo.com in California and decided to give it a try for our Italy trip. We were in constant contact with Valerio, the owner of this apartment, and he was always timely and helpful. The place is quite small, but was homey and very quiet. While we were 10 minutes away from the closest metro stop and outside of the main touristy thoroughfare, it was a nice retreat at the end of each very long day. We were able to sleep in many days without noise from neighbors or traffic. It was also nice to have a small fridge and microwave so we could take advantage of the nearby grocery store and keep our leftover food. The only downside to this place is that the hot water did not last more than 5 minutes for both me and my husband combined. Valerio was very timely in his research and attempt to fix this problem, but then reported that the water heater was new and only heated 30 liters at a time, which was about 8 gallons. He seemed to think this was more than sufficient so we were unable to resolve this issue. Other than that, it was a great value overall.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: So glad you liked it ! Thanks !! Ciao ! Valerio

Valerio's apartment is perfect for two people. He met us at appointed time and showed us around apartment and explained everything. His English is excellent! You can walk about 15 minutes to colloseum and all the tourist in that area of Rome. The kitchen is small but adequate. The apartment was clean and the bed very comfortable. There were some maps and books available. We recommend booking a tour when you arrive at Collosseum. It isn't much more than the regular admission. The bus is across the street and the coffee shop nearby is excellent!Recommended for: Tourists without a car

I stayed in this apartment in mid-July 2011 with my wife and teen daughter. The place is near several bus lines (117 was best) that can take you right into the rest of Rome or the Terminal. The Colosseum is about 15 min walk. San Giovanni in Laterano is 10 minutes, the Baths of Caracalla, 5. Small but clean and quiet at the back of the apartment building so no one bothers you and there is no noise. Supermarket is 7 minutes' walk, and there are many local trattoria and dolceria, etc in the area. Has more of a local feel than a touristy one. Old Roman walls are just a half block away. I recommend it if you are looking for affordable, clean, quiet digs not exactly in the center of all the action but close enough by a short bus ride (20 minutes to just about any main attraction).Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks a lot ! Valerio

My three young children and I stayed in Valerio's small, quiet Colosseo apartment for nearly month this past summer and had such a wonderful time! My children loved the courtyard (quiet voices are encouraged), the inside amenities are clean and in working order and I often cooked a quick pasta dinner for the kids in the kitchenette. The wifi worked great and the bus stop is practically outside the front door of the building. Grocery store is up the street and huge (it even sold Sierra Nevada beer...at a premium!) and the next-door cafe was great for the quick breakfast dash before our daily excursion. I especially enjoyed the walk/bus ride past the back side of San Giovanni to the tree-lined Via Merulana, where I discovered my new favorite bakery, "Panella." Evening excursions to the Colosseum were also a hit with my kids. A memory we will not soon forget. I hope to be back soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful apartment in June. After spending 11 weeks in Europe, this apartment was our favorite! We loved Rome itself - but especially loved the apartment. The private courtyard made the living area much bigger and it was convenient to many restaurants and sites. When we return to Rome, we will stay there again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Rome. This apartment is cozy & perfect for couples or any small group of friends looking for a fabulous Rome vacation without the overpriced vacancy. At this price, this apartment is the best deal in Rome. The apartment is literally a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum, Roman forum, Emmanuelle VII, & the Rome Metro (subway). Valerio was a pleasure to deal with & was very attentive to all of my e-mails & phone calls. There is a great Italian cafe right on the corner as well as a small grocery store for all your needs. My wife & I walked all over the city during our 7 day stay. Just buy a beer & drink it on the go. It is legal to do so. Every Roman attraction is within walking distance from this apartment. The only time we took a cab was to go to the Vatican & Sistine Chapel but, that can also be easily accessible via the Colosseum Metro stop 10 minutes from Valerio's place. Rome is definitely a "must do" vacation for any traveler. There is no TV in the apartment but, the inclusion of Wi-Fi was all we needed to route our daily walks around the city & to watch great documentaries about the Roman empire on our computer. Our stay was during Roman Culture week so, we were able to enter all of the attractions without having to pay admission. Highly recommended during your stay: Colosseum, Roman Forum, the Vatican, Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Trastevere, Roman catacombs, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Emmanuelle VII, & more.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Christian and Monica, thank you so much ! Wish see you again some day here in rome ! Ciao !! Valerio

We found our stay at this rental to be better than we had anticipated. The owners were very helpful and personable. They went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. The rental was advertised accurately and was just a short walk to the Colosseum. A bus stop is located on the same corner as the rental. The bus travels to the closest Metro line, en-route to the Main Train Station. The rental was able to accommodate 4 people. The rental is very secure with locking metal shutters, even though we felt very safe in the neighborhood. We walked extensively at night and had no problems. There is a super market, daily bazaar, and convenient pizza & panini restaurants within one to three block radius of the rental. Our best recommendation for this rental is that we would stay here again the next time we vacation in Rome.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This property is safe, clean, bright and efficient. It is located off the street so you have privacy and peace which one needs after the busyness of Rome. Rosaria is a delight and speaks pretty good english. She happily met us, even after several train delays, and answered our questions. Valerio's english is very good and his responses to our emails were sometimes delayed due to his job and mostly helpful. This place is a terrific bargain at 70 euros! But you get what you pay for. The wifi worked flawlessly but there is no tv or radio. The listing says it has a fully equipped kitchen but that means a frig, microwave, kettle and two burners. There is no dishwasher, toaster or coffee maker. But at 70 euros you can improvise. I would recommend this property to folks who don't need a lot of frills, know Rome, know italian and are not directionally challenged. We asked repeatedly, but were never given, directions from the two metro stations to the apartment. This isn't a huge problem if you know Rome or italian. But it's a mess if you don't. Like being dropped in the middle of nowhere and asked to find your accommodations. And to clarify--both metro stations are more than a 5 minute walk away. San Giovanni is at least 6 long blocks and one busy intersection away and Colosseo is further. A great addition to the apartment would be a map of the area, listings for bus and subway routes, nearby grocery stores and restaurants. Literally around the corner we found a small mom and pop store that sold fresh goods, packaged goods and drinks, but no meat or cheese. There was also a convenience store that sold chocolate, chips and other incidentals on the same block. If there was a grocery store we missed it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, sightseeing.

I highly recommend this apartment. The apartment itself is clean, cozy and attractively decorated. The location was very good--the Colosseum is within walking distance and the 81 bus will take you to all the places you want to go. There is a park up the road from the apartment which holds jazz concerts every night in the summer. (Villa Celimontana). Fabulous. Valerio and Rosaria were great. We had to reschedule our trip at the last minute and they were really helpful with rebooking and sorting us out. THANKS!!! (After midnight, it is necessary to take a taxi home from the city center. These cost between 10 and 15 euro).Owner response: Dear Kristy ! Thanks for your kind words ! I wish you a wonderful 2012 and hope to see you in Rome again soon ! After Panella you should come to know "Antonini" and "Faggiani" two other musts !

We had the most amazing experience in Rome and this apartment added to it. The apartment was so cozy and very clean. It is in a very quiet area and we felt very safe staying here. We were super close to the Colosseum and were walking distance to numerous bus stops and metros. Valerio and his wife, Rosaria were extremely helpful during the rental process and even called before we departed for Rome! We cannot wait to come back to Roma and hope we will be able to stay here again. Thank you for everything!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
