    We stayed at the Hula Moon from Mar 22 to Apr 6 and have absolutely nothing bad to say. Kim was a pleasure to deal with, the booking process was painless and all transactions were as described in the agreement. The condo was clean and well appointed. We had friends staying at bigger condos in Kolea and felt that ours although not as big was cleaner and in better condition than the others. Proximity to the King & Queens shops, A-Bay and the Lava Lava restaurant was a big plus for us. Storage area had beach toys, beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers etc. We left an additional boogie board and kids life jacket for others to use. We are already planning on going back next year.

    This condo could not have been any better. Everything was better than advertised. Great location close to the pool, beach and shopping. Booking through departure went seamlessly.

    We just returned from a 10-day stay in the Hula Moon Villa, we are a family of four (kids 1 & 3). This unit was perfect for us for so many reasons. First, the price -- best price in this complex as far as we could see online. Second, the unit itself: beautifully decroated, well taken care of, clean and stocked with everything you need. You do have a small peek-a-boo of the ocean, but just looking out into the grounds is nice as well. Third - the complex: Just perfect for families with small children. You have everything you need all around you -- great sand-bottom kiddy pool, the ocean just 2-minutes walk away, shops and restaurants right next to the complex, and beautiful grounds at Kolea (or both the Marriot or Hilton on either side), makes for great walks. A-Bay is beautiful, and although it doesn't have the nicest sand, within a 10 minute drive you can get to Hapuna or Mauna Kea which are both fabulous. Lastly, the service. Kim was so easy to deal with and had every detail taken care of. Wendy, the onsite caretaker helped us with a couple of minor things we needed while there - she was fabulous. Excellent experience and we will be back for sure!!

    We absolutely love this condo! Aside from being beautiful, the location is great! We walked over to the King & Queen shops every night to watch the free hula shows or listen to whatever Hawaiian singer was there. Its also a short walk to A Bay where the sunsets are awesome! We loved having a grill right on the lanai & it was so nice the way the lanai doors open all the way. There are only good things to say! This was our second visit to Hula Moon & we hope to return again!

    My boyfriend and I have just returned from our second trip to Kolea and will definitely stay in this condo on our next visit. The condo itself is equipped with everything we needed -- beach stuff (chairs, beach towels, swim fins, etc.), a gas grill on the lanai, a very comfy king size bed in the master bedroom, and a fabulous, well-supplied kitchen. The location can't be beat, right on A Bay and an easy stroll to the market when we needed provisions (or a drink at Roy's). Some of our favorite things about our stay at Kolea: sunsets on the beach with the sea turtles, snorkeling at Wailea Beach (aka 69's beach by the locals because it's located near telephone pole #69), having a tai chi at Roy's before dinner, taking a snorkel boat trip with Ocean Sports right from A Bay and swimming with two manta rays(!). The condo is very quiet, spotlessly clean, well-stocked and tastefully decorated. We will definitely be back.

    My family and I had a great time here at Hula Moon. It was our second stay in these condos and Hula Moon did not disappoint. The photos do not do justice. The view from the lanai was fantastic - you can see A-bay. It's a hop skip and jump to the pool house and then a quick trail walk to the beach! The condo very clean and well maintained, comfortable beds, plenty of towels. Owner was accommodating with our requests. We ate in mostly and it was convenient to have spices and other condiments. Would absolutely recommend to others. Only one minor suggestion would be to have a wooden cutting board.

    My husband and I stayed at Hula Moon April 25-May 3, 2012. It was fantastic!! Beautiful private and gated condo with easy access to A-Bay (turtles on the beach in the afternoon!). Loved the pool in the late afternoon after spending the day on the beach. We will stay here again!!! Kim was very easy to work with and the condo was well equipped with everything we needed.

    The Hula Moon Villa is the best condo on the Big Island!! We have been visiting the Big Island for years, and this condo out surpasses every other condo or hotel. The location is just a short walk to the ocean beach, perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and don't forget to look for turtles! The pool area is very relaxing and always clean. The condo has everything a chef needs to prepare meals. The beds are very comfortable and there are plenty of plush towels. Any one staying here will not be disappointed. We ate most of our meals on the balcony. It is a perfect location to see the island from. I never want to stay anywhere else. The Beach chairs, cooler and boogie board got plenty of use. We hope to be back soon.

    We just returned from staying 10 nights at the Hula Moon. Everything was just as Kim had promised. The location was great, with a choice of the pool at Kolea or the beach. The beach at A-Bay is a short walk, maybe 5 minutes. The King's shops and restaurants are nearby and we would recommend Roy's at the King's Shops. Great food. The photos do not do a good job of reflecting the size or beauty of the condo. We used the beach items from the condo and made the short trip to Hapuna Beach for one afternoon. Kim was great in answering questions, I was nervous about renting through VRBO and after we arrived I realized it was unwarranted. Loved everything and will definitely stay again.Queen's Marketplace is also nearby with more restuarants and shopping. The property is beautiful and well maintained.

    We were so impressed by this condo- the amenities, and just the care and thought the owners put into making this a memorable experience. They really thought of everything- down to the movie selection! We have stayed at many five star properties and high end condos, and their tastes spoke most favorably to mine and my family's! We were more than delighted by the view too. The pictures although beautiful barely did the condo justice. Thank you for your efforts in making this such a great place to stay. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for your attention to detail and execution of excellence!

    We stayed at Hula Moon for 9 nights in November 2011, two women on a break without their husbands getting away from the westcoast fall rain. Hula Moon absolutely exceeded our expectations, the pictures do not do it justice in terms of space and comfort. The condo was spotless and extremely well equipped (the beds were very comfortable!) we couldn't have asked for more. A word on the location- it's a short drive to some of the best beaches on the island, and restaurants, shops and groceries were just a 5 minute walk away. Also, for two women on their own, it felt like a very safe and secure situation. Kim was great throughout the process of booking and settling in, responding very quickly to any queries we had. Last but not least, the turtles, five in total one afternoon happily sunning on A-beach while we gazed in wonder.

    My sister and I celebrated her retirement at the Hula Moon, Oct. 18-25, 2011. What a beautiful condo. This condo exceeded our expectations. The unit is superbly decorated and includes all the amenities one could possibly wish for! We love the condo route while vacationing as it's nice to enjoy coffee and breakfast on the lanai and after a day of touring or enjoying the beach or lovely pool, watch the sun set over the Pacific with cocktails. We chuckled as we read the blue tour book, but found it to be most helpful as we explored the Big Island. Working with Kim was easy. She promptly answered all our questions and made us feel welcome as she and Jeff shared their slice of Paradise. We would highly recommend renting this unit. The only problem we had is we had to leave. All good things must come to an end. We will be back!

    We spent the first week of August at the Hula Moon Villa. It was everything that we had envisioned plus more. The condo was fully equipped with everything we needed including beach toys. It was great not having to worry about renting snorkel gear, boogie boards, chairs, etc. We enjoyed the lanai with the built in grill, sink, and refrigerator. We spent many morning and nights on the lanai enjoying the beautiful grounds and the view of the ocean. The complex was very quiet and the grounds were beautiful. I would definitely recommend renting this unit. It is so much nicer staying in a condo than a hotel and having all the luxuries of home. Kim was great with answering all of our questions and very timely in answering emails. In fact, my daughter left her sunglasses and when I contacted Kim upon our return home she was able to contact the management company and they sent the sunglasses! Thanks Kim for letting us use your condo! We will be back and have already suggested your condo to several of our friends! It was one of the best we have ever rented on VRBO!

    This condo. is exquisite! It is beautifully decorated and has all the essentials a family needs to enjoy a wonderful vacation. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, so we were always well rested to enjoy our vacation. The livingroom furniture was also very clean and comfortable. The walls and doors are well made. When my son wanted to sleep in, he wasn't disturbed by the rest of our family making breakfast in the kitchen and watching TV. in the livingroom. The kitchen was well equiped with all the gadgets and supplies you need to make all of your meals. We were able to save so much money by eating wonderful meals in the Hula Moon. We also used the barbecue on the linai a few times. The patio has a refrigerator, sink and all the utensils you need to make barbecuing easy. We enjoyed the two ocean views from the linai as well. When we went on our day trips or to the beach, we were so happy that the Hula Moon had supplies for these excursions. The ice chest, and water jug made our trips much more comfortable. The kids were able to boogie board, and use the sand toys in the shed. This was so awesome! The facilities at Kolea are excellent. We enjoyed the pool, the work out center, and the beach with the basking turtles! That was so amazing. The sunsets were also great to watch. This is very good value. We absolutely loved staying at the Hula Moon, and we definitely stay here again when we come to the Big Island. We would highly recommend this place to everyone!

    My husband and I vacationed at the Hula Moon with our infant son in July. We had an absolutely wonderful time and felt that the condo was a big part of our enjoyment. The condo is just as described on the website - was very clean, spacious, well equipped and had a lovely view of the water in two different directions. We spent a lot of time at the pool with our little one. The pool is really nice and you can see the ocean from the deck with lots of lounge chairs. Kolea is a short walk to many shops and other resorts, yet has a very private, peaceful feeling. Kim was very responsive and helpful in our communications. We plan to come back again in the hopefully not too distant future.

    We stayed at the Hula Moon Villa for 1 week in May with our parents and a 5 yr old boy. The place was exactly as described. The many amenities in the condo helped make our stay more comfortable. We didn't have to go out and buy beach toys and accessories because it was all provided. Overall, everyone in our family had a great time because we were able to wind down in your beautiful condo after a long day in paradise! Thank You! PS - We loved the nearby pool which was a 2 minute walk. We went there each afternoon for a dip!

    My wife and I made a last minute reservation for a 3 day stay at the Hula Moon. We were extremely pleased with the facility and would highly recommend it. From there, we spent 3 days at one of the luxury hotels where we spent more than 3x the per night stay. We both commented that we would love to have been at the Hula Moon!     We recently stayed at Hula Moon Villa and I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves. The villa is lovely and has everything you need for comfort and relaxation. Building 9 is perfectly located in the complex, close to pool complex and beach access, and the 9E parking spot is directly across from the elevator which makes luggage and grocery trips a breeze . Our recommendations include the luau at the Marriott (you can hear the music on the Hula Moon lanai!), Hapuna Beach for bodysurfing and hanging out at the Hilton where you can snorkel in the lagoon, play in the pool and shop. One of the highlights was the dolphin swim at the Hilton--highly recommend (it's worth the price!). We had a total of 12 people (three generations) in our group, and everyone was very happy with Kolea and the surrounding amenities. I can honestly say there wasn't anything lacking in either the villa or the complex. We are already talking about next year! One day, while sitting on the lanai, I overheard someone say, "Honey, I think we found paradise." I couldn't agree more.

    I am always leery when booking accommodations online as you don't always get what you pay for.Not this time.We got more than we paid for.The pictures do not do this property justice.The location is second to none and the community and property was extremely well maintained.We intend on returning as soon as we are able.

    We had a wonderful week at the Hula Moon. The condo was perfect. We ate most of our meals in as it was such an exquisite setting. The beach was close by and the work out area was so nice with the open air setting. The pool was so quiet. We went over to the Hilton pool one day but much preferred our private area. Truly a great place that we will try to return to. Thank you.

    Just returned from a 10 day stay. We are from DFW, TX area and have never been to Hawaii before and all I can say is WOW! We are ready to go back! The condo is fabulous. It is decorated beautifully and the kitchen is all high end equipment stocked with everything you need. We cooked most of our meals on the grill on the lanai where we could relax and enjoy the view. The condo is in a great location and the beach and pool are just a quick walk away. We did a lot of exploring and really enjoyed the Big Island. Snorkeled at several sites, sampled most of the near-by beaches, did some kayaking, explored Hawaii Volcanoes Nat’l Park, did a helicopter tour. All in all, a really great time. We would rent again and would recommend to others!

    We just returned from three wonderful, relaxing weeks at the Hula Moon Villa. The Kolea complex is so beautifully landscaped and situated so close to the beach -- we loved our morning routine of working out by the pool, having a quick dip, then either snorkeling at A-bay or walking over to the Hilton. This condo is very comfortble -- there if a nice view of water from both ends of the lanai. The kitchen is well-equipped. This is a luxury vacation experience.

    We were excited from the moment we drove through the gates of the Ko'lea complex.The Hula Moon Villa was very easy to access and the views from the third floor patio were wonderful from the front door. We were pleasantly surprised at how large the unit was and the classic yet fun decor. The artwork was exceptional and I felt right at home with the comfortable and modern furniture. We cooked half of our meals at home, in the state-of-the-art kitchen and outdoor built-in BBQ on the private deck. The available activities were a huge addition to our stay. Many amenities were offered for rent on the beach directly in front of the complex, but we used the free stuff that came with the Hula Moon Villa. (It seems like each unit has a private covered parking spot with storage cabinets. Our cabinet had fins, goggles, water shoes, boogie boards, etc.) The pool and spa were nice, because we could sit and look at the ocean. My husband most loved the open-aired workout facility. It wasn't huge, but if he was able to get one of the two ellipticals, one of the tread mills or the workout bike, he claimed to be in fitness heaven with the fresh air and expansive views. A couple of mornings, he would workout and I would walk along the beach. In my time, I would decide what to make for snacks and take the short 2 minute walk back to the unit, pack a picnic and return to the pool for us to enjoy mid-morning munchies together. Another great feature was the surrounding stores and hotels. Our vacation getaway was a very short walk away from the King Shops of Waikaloa and steps to both the Marriott and the Hilton. We enjoyed delicious dinners and great shopping without even getting back into our car! We will most definitely be going back to the Big Island and staying in this unit again. Next time, we will take advantage of the 2 master bedroom suites and share our experience with another couple. **I've rented from VRBO before and always had positive experiences. Every house/condo has had pros and cons, but the Hula Moon Villa far exceeded anything we could have planned for.

    Our stay at the Hula Moon Villa was absolutely wonderful. We loved the condo, the beautiful furnishings and its great location so close to the beach, the pool, the work-out room, the local resorts and the King’s and Queen’s shops. You left nothing out in furnishing your place: your kitchenware, supplies and utensils supplied more than we needed; the bathrooms were furnished to the hilt; the high-end appliances, TVs, games, DVD’s, books, the comfortable and attractive furniture, the great beach equipment and the many little extras all made us feel truly catered to. The bedrooms, beds and bedding were luxurious and extremely comfortable. The Lanai was such a great place; loved having dinner from the grill and eating out there for breakfast and lunch. The gorgeous grounds where you are located are breathtaking and tranquil. Having access to the elevator and private parking was really a bonus. Your written directions to the condo and on how to use the various appliances and electronics was very helpful. We also found your location to be a good starting point for our touring of the island. The only problem we ran into was having our vacation come to an end and having to leave this wonderful place. We hope to be back in the near future. Several of my co-workers and friends are looking into booking a stay at your Villa.

    My husband and I and our two young sons just returned from a 10 day stay here. We are from Dallas, Tx and have traveled to many beaches and resorts over the years. Let me just say that this place is fabulous. The photos do not even begin to do it justice! There is way too much to capture. The decor is superb and you will love the high tech entertainment. No chance of children fighting over T.V.s since there is one in every room. The appliances are stellar. The lanai made me want one at home! Peaceful, gorgeous view. Can't say enough great things because, initially I wanted to go to Maui not Kona and my husband convinced me otherwise. WOW, am I ever glad he did!!!!!

    We had a fantastic vacation at the Hula Moon Villa! The condo was beautiful, clean, spacious, practical...the pictures did not do it justice! The bedrooms and bathrooms were enormous and well equipped. The kitchen and lanai were great for our family and for eating in. The owners provided everything we needed, from beach towels, to boogie boards, to a cooler bag for the beach! The condo was close to the pool, the beach, and shops and restaurants. The surrounding property was so lush and perfectly manicured. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends or family.

    Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

    Recently rented this unit for two weeks in April for my arents. All went smoothly in terms of the rental process. The unit is in great shape and is very well furnished. We would rent again and have already recommended to others.

    Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

    We very much enjoyed our time at The Hula Moon Villa! It is a beautifully decorated condo, comfortable and spacious with an outstanding kitchen full of great cooking supplies. We cooked most days/nights, grilling out on the lanai. It was lovely to sit in the warm breeze, watching the stars peeking in the distance or listening to the morning birds. It's close to all of the beautiful beaches of Kohala, and situated in a lovely area of Waikoloa - closest to the beach! We also enjoyed the pool and lava rock hot tub, with its great view of the stars and the beach in the background, especially in the evenings after a day of bodysurfing when we weren't too sunburned... :) We hope to come back someday!
