Left 10 minutes and you will be to the quaint shops and restaurants and right 15 minutes to Dunedin causeway and Honeymoon Island State Park. "About the property" as pictures illustrate, The gated property is a tropical oasis that the owners have nurtured over the last 20 years. Enjoy vistas of native and subtropical plants and trees. Start your day with a stretch in the private Zen garden, yoga mats provided.
Feed the turtles and Koi in the Koi pond. Take a dip in the lagoon pool (not heated) or just relax on the hammock under the tiki hut. Landscape lights on at night create a romantic setting for couples. The perfect place!
The perfect place!
What can we say! From the moment we turned into the narrow driveway, we were stunt by the beauty of the landscape, the colours and lushness of the vegetation. Surely, that's what paradise must look like. The cottage is just full of charm, beautifully decorate, well kept and very comfortable. The big backyard is perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing, bicycling, playing tennis or just wandering around town. The water fountains, the pool and the pond provide the perfect backdrop for that first cup of coffee in the morning, a glass of wine at the end of the day or just sitting around with a good book. We found a myriad of things to see and do in and around Dunedin and our hosts were always more than willing to share their knowledge and love of the region with us. We were so please with our experience that we are returning for 3 months next winter.

Impeccable. That's the one word that comes to mind when we think of this beautifully decorated and practical rental property. My husband and I spent a July week at Gary and Lori's rental while we explored Dunedin, Florida. The pièce de résistance is the huge and stunning back patio and pool area that rests in the tropical feel of old Florida. We discovered that Gary is a landscape architect and interior designer who has brought the full strength of his talents to this property; the pictures are true to the feel, both interior and exterior. The tropical jungle feel is apparent from every vantage point in the home and is laced with outdoor water fountains. The property, which is divided into two side-by-side, good-size rental units, is tastefully designed and is a perfect landing spot for two. Our side was comfortably furnished with a generous living room/dining room, well equipped kitchen and a bedroom (comfy queen bed) that has a desk and sitting area. Wi-fi and cable are part of the package. Additionally, Gary and Lori are thoughtful hosts/landlords. They spent time giving us enthusiastic insight and suggestions to navigating the area and visiting the sites. (You could jokingly say that Lori sounds like she's with the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce - and she is!) And although they live (seasonally) in the house's other duplex, we saw very little of them and always were able to maintain our privacy even when in the pool area - a credit to Gary's optimal use of plantings about the property. Summer is quite lovely in this part of Florida especially when you have the outdoor heat alternating with the comfortable 'set-to-your-desired temperature' air-conditioned rental space. We highly recommend this property and, if the opportunity presents itself, we will stay again.

"Oh Wow!" Those were the first words that came out of my mouth when we drove into the property. The cottage and grounds are exactly as described – absolutely gorgeous. Nestled into an otherwise typical Dunedin neighborhood, the owners have created a true tropical oasis. The cottage is located within walking distance of historic Dunedin, as well as the Pinellas Trail which is great for walking and biking. Nearby Hammock Park offers several nature trails that wind through thick tropical foliage. The entire area is “dog friendly” and we took our Golden Retriever with us into town for several dinners on the restaurants’ outside patios. The cottage is also a great base for visits to nearby Clearwater and Tarpon Springs. My wife and I stayed the entire month of January, and writing this review is like giving away the location to my favorite fishing spot. But our experience was so fantastic that we truly feel the owners deserve posting our compliments. The cottage itself is really charming…very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed breakfast most mornings on the cozy front patio by the Koi and Turtle pond. Many afternoons and most evenings were spent in the back yard and garden area by the “lagoon pool”. The pictures are very accurate but cannot begin to convey the feeling of peace and tranquility – especially at night. The sounds of the many fountains, accompanied by background lighting create an unbelievable Zen like tropical sanctuary. We hated to go inside at the end of each evening and it’s a miracle that I never fell asleep in the chair! The owners are wonderful people, and provided us with a wealth of information about the surrounding area. They’ve created a beautiful haven that we would recommend to any couple looking for a place to stay while exploring Dunedin and the surrounding communities. Thanks for a great experience!
