Never have been to Taos and found the Old School House on VRBO. Like a dream come true! It was just as I pictured Taos. Our accomodations were very cozy and quiet and staying anywhere else would have never been so memorable. I will always remember this trip as one of my favorites. I was celebrating my 60th birthday and The Schoolhouse was so perfect in everyway. I loved the view the furnishings the well equipped kitchen and cozy bed. The sun peaking in the adobe windows in the morning was delightful. The Old Schoolhouse is definitely enchanting and has a very special feeling within the grounds. The sunsets were amazing as you look out onto The Taos Pueblo sacred Indian land. We did not mind the bath house and in fact it became part of the charm. The bathhouse was well equipped and modern and had a wall heater for chilly mornings. My next trip to Taos I hope to stay again at The Old Schoolhouse secluded yet walking distance to town.Recommended for: Pet owners, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The School House casita was the perfect place to get away for a few days. The property's history is intriguing, and we quickly discovered why so many artists/writers gravitated to it. It is very cozy and quiet and the surroundings offer the perfect backdrop for igniting creativity. We appreciated the attention to details in the casita and bath house, and the hot tub was perfect for two. Our favorite ammenities were the gas fireplace, the outdoor swing, and the big yard for the dogs. Honey, the family dog, was very sweet as she often slept by our door. Overall, we were quite impressed with the casita and didn't even mind having to go outside to the bath house. It, too, was very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend the School House casita for anyone who wishes to be "in" Taos yet far enough away to appreciate some solitude and quiet. We are already planning our next trip!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners.

My husband and I recently staying in the Schoolhouse Studio, attached to the former home of Taos artist Victor Higgins and we found it to be perfectly charming and peaceful. The view right outside the window is the mystical Taos Mountain on sacred Pueblo Land. Right next door to the Mabel Dodge Luhan house, we felt surrounded by the history and charm that makes Taos so special. It was even exhilerating going out to the bathhouse at night under those beautiful bright stars. We would have missed it otherwise. We were warm and cozy with luxurious bed linens an a gas fire-place. It was delightful!Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Perfect place to stay if you want an "authentic" setting. Beautiful, clean, quiet, comfortable, but best of all is that it's a real adobe mission nicely restored as a guest house. So close to the plaza, yet quiet. It made our visit to Taos even more fun to stay in such a cool, historic place!Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

What a lovely, serene retreat. Couldn't have picked a better homebase for our brief visit to Taos. Arrived in the middle of a snow squall and found this casita warm, charming, nicely appointed, and with a beautiful setting/views. Instant relaxation and comfort. Thanks!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Jessica, Just wanted to thank you for hosting us and our dogs during our stay in Taos. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Honey greeted us at the gate and welcomed us like family into her yard. The isolated location at the end of the road and the proximity to the park and Mabel Dodge Luhan property provide a peaceful setting in the middle of Taos.Did you find this review helpful? Just loved this place--didn't want to leave! Privacy, beautiful mountain views, very attractive and comfortable setting and furnishings. Was the perfect getaway. And will definitely be back . Thank you so much for making this luxe little house available to us. Best restaurant we tried was Joseph's Table. Skiing in Red River was more low key, relaxed for beginner skiers than than Taos.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Jessica and Bob, Thank you for sharing such a serene retreat; it made for a great nest for our brief visit. Alley mud, magpies, rounded edges, red dirt, memories of artists past. We hope to cross paths once again, desert or tropical. Heavy fog sits over the wise, open tribal lands and we must keep moving on. Aloha and namaste, Jason and Meggie P.S. Great basket!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
