What a relaxing and great location for this condo

Our family of 4 had a great 10 days at this unit. Very comfortable and a great central location that allowed us to get to beaches quickly. Always an easy parking spot, the unit had all the furnishings (kitchen utensils, beach equipment) we could ask for and we were able to save a lot of money by eating many of our meals at the unit. The trade winds always kept the place comfortably cool and having a washer in the unit was great. Very glad we found this condo and appreciate the owners renting it with so many extras that you rarely find when vacationing but makes your life away from home so much easier. One thing to know is Menehune Shores is not just a vacation condo...many people there are residents so it does have a different flavor than your tourist hotel. This worked fine for us, and we liked the quiet atmosphere. The grounds are very well kept as is the pool which our kids enjoyed a couple times when they did not get enough swimming at the beach.

Dave and Vicki, Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your place on Maui! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Your condo was fully equipped and was very comfortable for us. Everything was fine. We really enjoyed the view in the morning and hearing the ocean at night. Although we brought a beach umbrella from home, we also used yours along with the 2 beach chairs and cooler. That was very helpful to have. Thanks again. We will have beautiful memories from our vacation and our stay in Kihei.

We LOVED the condo, it was in the perfect location for us to get to anywhere we wanted to go easily. Kihei was a fun little town and we soon discovered out favorite "shopping and eating mall". Spent many hrs. browsing the shops looking for souvenirs. Our view was magnificent from the lanai and everyone enjoyed the pool. Having the washer and dryer was a real plus for us too, made it so much easier to be able to do laundry right there. We BBQed several times down by the pool. Discovered The Times was our favorite market ... I was thrilled with the farmers market over by K-Mart and we had a great time at the Saturday Swap Meet. There is just nothing like FRESH pineapple. If we get to make another trip to Hawaii I would love to come back to the condo. Thanks for having everything right there that we needed.

We spent a great two weeks at this condo. It was extremely well equiped with everything you need for a great time! The photos were very accurate and all the reviews very helpful. Our kids loved loved loved the pool and swam everyday. We did not spend any time down at the little beach due to some recent tsunami activity but have stayed at Menehune Shore before and our small children spent a lot of time at the beach. It is particularly great for very young kids. The condo was very clean and well maintained and direct contact with the owners was very helpful. We even recieved an email checking up on us after the tsunami from the owners which was very kind! Our favourite things to do on this trip were checking out various beaches, watching the whales from the lanai, and going on a snorkeling trip to Molokini. We would recommend this property without hesitation. Thanks again Vicki and Dave :)

Perfect Maui Location

We spent one week at this wonderful condo and loved every minute of it! It was the perfect location to provide perfect views of the ocean and the grounds! The condo was well equipped and exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Even though we had a small problem, it was taken care of so quickly it didn't cause us any grief! I loved that the condo was so clean, and the darkening curtains in the second bedroom ensured that the early morning sun didn't waken our 3 year old too early! We loved falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean and then getting up before sunrise to watch the beauty of the area come alive. It seems there was always a whale or two to greet us and one morning a friendly turtle flipped us a hello! We would definitely stay here again, thanks so much Dave and Vicki for looking after every detail to ensure we had a great place to stay!

The listing was accurate, the photos were accurate. The property was clean and well maintained. The owners were helpful, and provided consistent information. I would recommend the property to friends, relatives, and others. We enjoyed the close proximity to beach, grocery shopping, and good parking. Beach toys, lots of towels, linen, and nice to have the washer and dryer. Small touches like information books helped. The cleaner was helpful. Recommend Maui Ocean Centre, Kula botanical gardens, Big Beach.

Lovely views and central location

We stayed there just short of 2 weeks with our 3 boys. They had everything that we needed. We didn't have to pack much as they had the beach towels and toys, boogie boards, snorkeling gear. One of the best assets of the place was that we were able to do laundry which was huge! As you know, airlines charge lot for luggage, so we were relieved of having to pack everything. It was close to restaurants and stores. The view was gorgeous and the place was very cozy and updated. It wasn't like some of the other outdated, old school Hawaiian style. Our only complaint was that it was quite breezy on some nights, but that's just how Kihei is. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our family and friends! Vicky and Dave are very organized and friendly. They are honest and workable. Mahalo for a memorable vacation!

It was a wonderful vacation and we really enjoyed the condo. We loved falling asleep each night with the sounds of the ocean and sitting on the lanai each evening watching the beautiful sunsets. We were totally thrilled with Menehune Shores. We rented unit 304 on VRBO (listing *272098) which has recently had all new furnishings purchased. The tile floors were very practical for a beach house. The kitchen is well equipped (including much better knives than we use at home) and all mattresses, linens and pillows were high quality. Although it was exceptionally windy when we were there, the lanai is sufficiently sheltered that I think we only ate indoors one meal - one huge advantage of the north side of the building. There is a small swimming beach at a public park with perfect sand for gigantic castles just through the gate from the pool to the north. One can walk on the beach for miles in either direction (have to go about one block on the street to the north to get there from the small swimming beach). Although the beaches one could walk to were not as good for snorkelling as others, those to the north were gorgeous and totally uncrowded (the one to the south had gravel and seaweed issues but was still an interesting walk). With 3 generations, it was so handy being right on the beach as the beachlovers could hang out there while others pursued shade; there was no waiting for everyone to get ready and pile into the car. Not only do the owners of this condo go to great lengths to accommodate guests, but the entire building is exceptionally well managed. We ended up with little piles of sand outside the door of our unit on two occasions, and both times, it magically disappeared within 24 hours. The landscaping was impeccable. A huge bonus for us wimpy Canadians was the solar heated pool - the warmest pool we have ever found in Hawaii. We put the new Webber BBQs to good use.

Aloha Vicki! Just wanted to let you know that we had an amazing time. We saw so many whales, dolphins, and even a monk seal decided to visit the small beach. We stayed here for 10 days and the place was wonderful. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and the place was very clean and the mattresses were very comfortable. The room had all the amenities that we needed for a great vacation. The building was so quiet and we have never been to a place were it was so quiet, which was wonderful. The owners Dave and Vicki are great to deal with and they go out of there way to make sure that your vacation goes smooth. I would recommend this condo to anyone. It was a wonderful place to stay.
