A modernist retreat built by the celebrated Alexander Construction Company in 1959, designed by famed architect, William Krisel. Inside-outside desert friendly design, featuring the soaring butterfly roof, clerestory windows, along with post and beam construction introduced in that period. The home has been respectfully restored, including the original 'hairpin leg' dining cabinet. The interior is faithfully furnished in the mid-century period with classic designs by Isamu Noguchi, Charles Eames, Alexander Girard, and George Nelson.
Linens, serving pieces, and accessories are included to provide elegant style and enhance your stay. Kitchen and baths have been restored with new appliances and fixtures. Kitchen includes a range of serving peices for dining and bar service for your enjoyment. A small library of books and magazines informs of the mid-century period, and the history of Palm Springs. Views of the nearby San Jacinto Mountains are seen from each bedroom.
The large property is in a quiet neighborhood and includes a private 12 foot deep pool with cabana, soaring palms and fruit bearing citrus trees, and an outdoor shower. Two 26-inch bicycles are available for cruising. |
