Within walking distance: fine restaurants, museums, churches, the beautiful streets of Cartagena, and its fortifications. A bit further out, requiring a taxi ride, the spectacular San Felipe fort and La Popa mountain-top monastery.
Beaches close by.
The apartment itself is well appointed and decorated, ideal for two couples. The building has a lap pool at street level as well as a roof-top sunning and lounging area. It has a doorman at all times.
The daily visit of a cleaning lady is included. She can also be hired to cook lunch.
Nearby travel agencies, or boats on the dock southeast of the apartment, can arrange a boating visit to the bay's fortifications, the Rosario islands, and the Aquarium.

My family (wife and two kids) just spent five days in this apartment. We had looked at more modern options in the Bocagrande, newer section of Cartagena and decided to stay in the old city instead. It was the best decision we made. The apartment is in the heart of the old walled city. It is smack dab in the center in front of Parque Bolivar. The apartment has a housekeeper (Aide) that came everyday after we had left the apartment and washed dishes, made beds and even did laundry if we needed her to. Aide was also a wealth of information suggesting restaurants and how to get around the walled city. The apartment is absolutely safe and secure with a doorman around the clock (Ismael and Ruby were also a great help with cabs or directions anywhere). We never closed the rear doors leading to the terrace and fell asleep reading on the hammocks or rocking chairs on the deck or in the bedrooms. The walls of the apartment are covered in tasteful art. The apartment was so comfortable and comforting, that it felt like home after the first day. We loved every minute of it. The owner was also very helpful and easily accessible via email.Cartagena is the most beautiful and safest city in the Caribbean. We never worried for a second. You can walk throughout the entire walled city easily into midnight and the city is alive with the friendliest people. Go to Colombia! Visit Cartagena! Stay in this apartment... you will not regret it. By the way, we visited Bocagrande to see what we were missing and an hour later were glad to be in a cab back to our "Cartagena home".Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Just returned from spending 6 nights in this great apartment. The location is excellent - old city and across the street from one of the nicest plazas (IMO) in the city (Bolivar). With 4 people, we were comfortable (though the double bed is tight for 2 people). It really felt like staying in a friend's apartment that you were given keys 2. The complex seemed empty which made the rooftop terrace seem totally private just for our use. The views from the terrace were fantastic. Lastly, Jaime was very cool and always prompt with questions and answers.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Just came back from Cartagena, I stayed in this apartment for 10 nights. It was an excellent choice, and so close to all the great places. I like this location better than other locations in the old city. It was a 2 minute walk to great restaurants, etc. I never did any cooking there, but the maid "Aydee" was there every morning cleaning, and washing my clothes. Next time I wont bring as many. Jaime the owner is a pleasure to deal with, and the rental transaction went very smoothly. He promptly replied to my emails, and because nobody renting immediately after me, he allowed to me to have a late check-out, as my flight didn't leave Cartagena until 6:00 pm. All in all, great place, great location!!, will return to Cartagena, and will stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The apartment in a former hotel with doormen, lap pool in the ground floor, views over the city rooftops and churches with fine sunsets from the top floor is a delight. It feels like and is a family home, tastefully decorated, with interesting artwork on the walls, and a well equipped kitchen for self catering should the plethora of nearby restaurants pall. The flat has air con in the bedrooms and ceiling fans elsewhere, an upright washing machine so is very comfortable even in the humid times. When it all became too much we went to Playa Blanca by fast boat (avoid the Alcatraz) which can be booked at the kiosks on the harbour north of the walls. We also enjoyed 3 nights on the Rosario Islands after our stay here, where the possibilities range from the rustic Isla de Pirata to the most upmarket outposts of the Santa Clara hotel. The central location of the flat in Cartagena is ideal, and the area feels safe well after darkRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Great rental, with a great view, you will find yourself staying out on the lanai most of the time. We truly enjoyed our time staying at the apartment. Everything worked properly, its very clean, comfortable, has everything you need, the staff down stairs is always pleasant, the building is very secure. Make sure you make it up to the roof deck, there is a perfect 360 view of the old city, the location is great. I highly recommend the restaurants at the Santa Clara Hotel, have breakfast at the main restaurant, there is a pair of wonderful Tucans, that come to your table, besides the food is incredible, the breads are amazing. There are many wonderful boutique hotels around, you can go in for cocktails or a bite to eat. I would always stay in this apartment in Cartagena, the place and owner are great! Wishing you the wonderful time I experienced, Cheers!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

All four of us were truly delighted with your Cartagena apartment. It was beautifully and very tastefully furnished, the artwork was unexpected and much appreciated, and the patio and hammock were just wonderful. We also made much use of the many books about Cartagena, its history and its architecture, as well as your helpful memo on shopping, eating, etc. When we went up to the rooftop patio, we couldn't belive how unique this feature is as we looked around the old city; there appeared to be no other like it, except for one on about the same level that belongs to a nearby hotel. We felt like we were the only people in the whole city living in a private residence with the comprehensive 360 degree views of Cartagena that your rooftop provides. I thank you for your generosity in making your apartment available to us for our visit. We have travelled to many beautiful places around the world, but our Cartagena experience was one the very best.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The apartment is located in a central location of old Cartagena. It is safe, comfortable and welcoming. The apartment is fully furnished and has its own charm. There are books to read to get familiar with the city and history. I laid on the hammock and read a lot of books about Colombia history..and had a site of the Cathedral of San Pedro in front of me. I stayed in the apartment alone the first night and felt safe. The best part of it is the charm. There is a kitchen with everything available and very useful. There is supermarket a few blocks away. There is a TV with satellite.. It did rain a few times and the balcony got flooded the last day. The only thing I did not take advantage is the roof top because I forgot it had it..i do regret it because the site is amazing. The apartment is nicer in person..we loved it!! I don't have any complaints only construction noise from an upstairs apartment being repaired and birds outside humming at night.. Also, the security is great and friendly!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

We highly recommend staying in this apartment. It is located in a beautiful square, accessible to everything Cartagena has to offer. The staff for the building and apartment were extremely accommodating and trustworthy! The apartment was spacious enough for 4 adults and 2 children - we loved the hammocks, rocking chairs, and personal touches such as the artwork. Also, we were delighted to find board games and puzzles in the closet. Having laundry machines made life easier for all of us (no packing up the dirty clothes to clean at home). This was so much better than staying in the crowded and somewhat dirty hotel strip of Boca Grande; we left having a very authentic experience. We will always stay here when we come to Cartagena!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We spent a lovely relaxing week in this cool, airy, beautifully decorated apartment right in the historic centre of Cartagena. The terrace is perfect for the hot afternoons and the roof terrace has one of the best views of the city/sunset as it is just a little higher than other buildings around. The apartment is kitted out with everything you might need and the owners even have the fridge stocked as well as coffee etc...so you needn't go shopping the day you arrive, just replace everything before you go. The photos on this website don't really "get" the decor which is a tasteful mix of antique furniture and modern amenities. All in all we'd recommend it highly if you're planning a trip to the wonderful city of Cartagena.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
