This 1,600 sf, one bedroom loft home is on beautiful Lake Dorr in the Ocala National Forest. The home has a spacious, open floor plan with a loft bedroom that overlooks the living and dining room areas. The huge windows on the lakeside offer a picturesque view of the property and pristine lake front where you'll enjoy gorgeous sunrises and moonlit evenings. There is also plenty of wildlife to see...turkey, deer, lots of birds and even an occassional bear sighting. Evenings are a great time to sit outside and listen to the sounds of the forest. The most mesmerizing one is the echoing sounds of the owls hooting at night. It's a perfect retreat for outdoor enthusiasts who love to boat, canoe, kayak, fish, hike, bike or horse back ride. So whether you are here to enjoy the outdoors or spend the day exploring the area's attractions, we have the perfect vacation rental home for you.
You are in a safe neighborhood on a 30-acre private estate. There are nearby grocery stores, and you’re a short drive to Eustis and Mt. Dora. Orlando, Ocala, The Villages, Leesburg, Daytona are within an hour drive. There are plenty of natural springs nearby that are within 15-40 mins. You can also spend the day at Kennedy Space Center, St. Augustine, several of the Atlantic beaches or head for the Gulf of Mexico. You are centrally located.

We just spent the most idyllic month in Florida at Lake Dorr. The guesthouse we stayed in was so well-maintained and very comfortable. The quiet atmosphere and view of the lake made time stop. This is a special place. But when you wanted good restaurants, shopping or entertainment, you were just minutes away. Our hosts, Bill & Vicki, could not have been more accommodating. They provided a lot of information about the area and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We hope to go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

If you want total Relaxation, you found the right place. The hospitality, cabin life, and lake view scenery will keep you coming back year after year, as it did for us.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent 10 days at this Lake Dorr location in February. The VRBO description was accurate. Everything was very clean and well kept. The owners were great. Any questions we had were responded to quickly. We were on a two month visit to lots of locations and this stay was at the top of the list. We enjoyed canoeing around the lake and watching the wildlife. All this and still close enough to towns with things to do, a nice choice of restaurants and a nice duplicate bridge club. I would highly recommend a stay here.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

I was lucky enough to spend two great weeks here while I was in town fishing the B.A.S.S. Southern Open in january. I was looking for a place to escape all the tournament activities at the end of the day and this was my perfect escape. Bill and Vicky where very gracious hosts and offered to help in any way they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They even managed to come to the day one weigh in to watch all the big fish that where brought to the scales. Anyone that is looking for a nice quite escape from the Orlando area theme parks at the end of the day or just a peaceful getaway, this is the place for you. I slept better than I do at home most nights it is truly a peaceful and scenic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and I will definitely be staying with them again the next time I have the chance to come back to Florida. Give them a call the next time you're looking for a nice rental in their area, you won't regret it.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place is beautiful and is like having your own private park on a lake! So relaxing and I slept better than I have in years. The owners Bill & Vicki were great and so accomodating and we feel like they are friends now. The drive back to the house is like being up North in Mi. but we had great weather and didn't have to deal with snow. The place is very clean and has every household item you would need. Just as you turn to their road there is a big horse ranch and training area we enjoyed watching them ride and jump. If you decide to vacation here enjoy!!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: Bill & Vicki Rogers - We decided to move to this area because we were tired of the hustle and bustle of living in a larger city, Clearwater, FL. For eight years, we traveled all over the state of Florida looking for that perfect place. This property was such a paradise, we knew this is where we needed to be. It is a 30 acre estate with a main house and guest house. We are located adjacent to the Ocala National Forest on a 1,700 acre private lake, yet only a short distance from great restaurants, shopping and attractions. We are centrally located and truly have the best of both worlds!
Why the Owner Chose Eustis:
This estate is our retirement home. The view as you enter the property is breath-taking. It's in a great neighborhood, and the property is centrally located but also away from constant traffic and noise. We enjoy star gazing, and there's no bright city lights, so you can really see the stars. We love this lake because it is large enough to ski, fish, etc., but yet it is still a hidden gem with little traffic. From the boat dock on the lake we've watched many shuttles take off out of the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. We can sit down by the lake and relax and unwind, yet be in touch with nature as the bald eagles soar by. We also enjoy fishing on the lake.
Most importantly, we enjoy exercising and can walk or ride bicycle on either the paved roads or the trails.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There are plenty of things to do. Horseback riding in the Ocala National Forest is available within 5 minutes. You'll love visiting the natural springs. Bring your bicycle or walk to adjacent trails. You can spend part of your day on a canoe trip around the lake or you can go fishing right off of the dock. Spend your day at the attractions in Orlando and come home to retire in a beautiful, relaxing setting.
