Welcome to one of the finest mountain homes in the Durango area. The home is a 3 BR/3 BA, of which, 2 bed and 2 baths are available to vacationers. The Master bed/bath is blocked off for storage and personal use. I purchased the home new in 2004 as my 1st and primary home, and have since relocated. I have gone to great lengths, not only to furnish it with high end appointments, but have also furnished it to make it one of the best Mountain rentals on the market.

Just some of the high end examples include, fully furnishing each bedroom with a complete ensemble, adding a 32" Flat Screen TV hooked up to DISH satellite, 400 ct. designer sheets, with down comforters, electric blankets, and Serta memory foam mattress toppers for the ultimate nights sleep in the mountains. Alarm clocks, nightstand with light, iron and ironing board in each room, as well as a full dresser complete the bedrooms. Downstairs you'll find a First Class gourmet kitchen equipped with Stainless Steel Kenmore Elite appliances, high end cabinetry, and complete granite countertops with a bar and bar stools. Nothing has been overlooked in the kitchen. All appliances small and large, complete with utensils, dishes, placemats have been appointed. A large pantry for food, rounds out the kitchen. In addition, over 20 board games, puzzles cards, and chess/checkers provided for entertainment of all ages on those days when you just dont feel like leaving the house, or staying low!

The Home has a 2 zone Honeywell/Trane forced air heating and air conditioning system. Keeps you cozy in the winter, and cool in the summer. In addition, a gas fireplace controlled by an electronic temperature thermostat system for romance, and warmth.

There is a complete and separte laundry room with Kenmore washer/dryer. Located just steps from the kitchen with a large basin sink, ideal for doing laundry on even the coldest of days.

In the Living room, you'll find a complete leather couch set and matching table. For your viewing pleasure, I have installed a 55" Sony Flat Screen TV with Panasonic Home Theater Sys. for surround sound with built in IPOD docking station. Bring your DVD's, CD's and IPOD and enjoy exeptional stereo sound. The sound on this system and picture is unbelievable. In front of the couch is a gas fireplace with temperature controlled thermostat.

There is a full and formal dining room, that seats 6 people, and for the more causal, a breakfast area that seats 4 adjacent to the kitchen (see pictures).


When the snow's gone, you will enjoy the large outside deck, made of TREX wood. Nice views, outdoor furniture, including a table and 4 chairs, 2 chaise lounges with cushions, patio umbrella and a Kenmore Gas BBQ/Grill.

This is a first class home fully appointed and not to be missed. Great hiking, fishing, mountain biking, snowshoeing, snow-mobiling and only 10 minutes to Vallecito lake, 20 mins to downtown Durango, 45 mins to Purgatory/DMR ski slopes, 90 minutes to Telluride and Wolfcreek ski resorts (all by paved maintained state highways). In addition, Pagosa Hot Springs (open year round) is a short 45 minute drive to the east. Grocery store, liquor, dining, and hardware store only 10 mins south of house. House is located near bottom of development for easy access year round. Association snow plows roads in winter...never a problem.

Please no pets, and absolutely, no smoking of any kind on the property.

Why the Owner Chose Durango

I came to Durango in the Fall of 2004 for a getaway vacation to ride the Durango Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad. I had tried to purchase a home in So. California, but the market got away from me. At the time, the prices of homes in the Durango area were much less then the market in So. California. On my last day in Durango, I looked at homes for sale and fell in love with the house that is now up for Vacation rental. Originally, it was a primary residence for myself, but now it is a 2nd home.

The Unique Benefits at this House

I love this home for so many reasons. It was new when I purchased it a few years back, well insulated for year round enjoyment. Meticulously maintained, and a pleasure to come home to. Close to downtown Durango, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Very quiet, great hiking, swimming, fishing, skiing,snow-mobililng, and hot springs nearby, as well as snow shoeing. Very peaceful, nice views, and just a great place to get away from it all. The list could go on for hours but these are just a few.

A recent marriage and baby has relocated me to Southern California. The property is now a second home, and my love for Colorado and the house prevents me from selling it.
