  Our fall getaway at Captain P's was absolutely the perfect beach vacation cottage! The house is clean, bright, and spacious, yet cozy and inviting. Comfortable bedrooms and baths, well equipped kitchen and laundry, and roomy family den - all make for a pleasant, home away from home visit. The best feature for us was the fully decked canal front, complete with a floating dock and covered gazebo. We enjoyed fishing and crabbing and sitting and rocking for hours...and there were plenty of fish and plenty of crabs to catch!! The covered gazebo during the day made it possible to be outside any time of day and gave us a place for much needed relaxing family time. Although we didn't use it, families with older kids would probably love the downstairs game room and the multitude of bikes and games available. The huge upper deck balcony was a perfect place to enjoy that first cup of coffee every morning. The location is perfect - only a very short five minute walk to the beach access and a short walk down the street to the pier and ice cream shop. We have stayed in lots of beach houses up and down the coast of the Carolinas, and must add we are very particular!! We easily rank Captain P's at the very top of the list!!

  Felt like "home" the minute we walked in the door. (Maybe a little neater than my home - LOL.) Loved the kitchen -- spacious and well-stocked. Fished off the pier at the gazebo and we both caught humongous flounder -- what a thrill! I'm posting a pic on Captain P's website for all to see. Thank you, owners, for a most enjoyable little getaway!!!!

  We very much enjoyed our stay over Labor Day weekend. The house is open and airy and has a fully stocked kitchen with anything you could need! We loved being on the canal and enjoyed fishing and hanging out on the huge deck, floating dock and covered gazebo. We also had a blast playing all the games in the downstairs game room- ping pong was our favorite! Although there were no young children in our group, I think this would be a great house for entertaining kids. The owners supplied bikes for kids and adults of all ages and lots of toys as well. The beach was a short walk away but would suggest bringing a beach cart or something to help you carry your chairs since it was about a 1 1/2 blocks away. Looking forward to another trip to Captain P's soon!

  This was our second year staying at Captain P's and next year will be our third. We love everything about the house. My sister and her husband drove from Texas to meet us for year two at this house and next year we are hoping the rest of the family can drive in and stay in the house next door which is also advertised on VRBO. The decking outside makes sitting outside very appealing all day and evening. Inside the owners have everything you could possibly need to make all your meals. The finished ground floor provides a great escape for kids and teens with plenty to keep them busy. The house is maintained beautifully and the owners have been great to work with. Just a short walk to the beach and if you have a boat the best part is you can leave it in the water all week and take it out anytime you want.

  This was our first visit to Holden Beach and we had a blast! The house was just as described and the owners were very easy to deal with. It was one of the best vacations to the beach we have ever had. Everything was very clean and the owners provided just about everything you could think of that you could possibly need while on vacation. We enjoyed using the bikes to ride to the pier and ice cream shop a few blocks away. We rented a kayak to explore the canals which was also great. There was plenty of room with lots to do for kids including the game room downstairs (which came in real handy when my youngest took his naps) and the covered pier to relax by at night or fishing during the day. We will definitely be going back next year!

  My family and I had a fabulous time (our first time) at Holden Beach and a big part of that was because of this beautiful home and the exceptional hospitality of the owner. This house has everything you could ever want or need on vacation. We had one rainy day and it was actually a great day thanks to the game room downstairs. The walk to the beach is a very short five minutes. We also enjoyed walking to the ice cream shop & pier. We loved this home and highly recommend it.

  Our family had a wonderful time at this property. We just wished it could have been longer. The house was very clean beautifully decorated and perfect for all of us. They had a garage full of anything you would need on the beach plus toys for young children which came in handy when my granddaughter came to visit. The Owners were very friendly and professional and always available to answer my questions on the phone or through e-mail. I especially loved fishing off the dock both day and night. I recommend this house to anyone who loves the beach,relaxing and fishing.

  This home is wonderful!! My family and I had a great time! The home is in excellent condition and is very well taken care of and maintained. The game room located in the downstairs area of the home was a great time for the adults and the house is filled with games and toys for smaller children. My favorite part about this home is that it is set up for whatever you may feel like doing. The beach is a short three minute walk up the street, you can relax in the gazebo on the canal, you can go crabbing out the back door, take a bike ride, a relaxing nap in the hammock, or just cool off inside in the spacious common areas. The owners make renting a very easy process as well and are very informative and are full of knowledge about the island. My family and I have been renting at Holden's Beach every summer for four years now and this by far was the best visit and vacation on the island we have ever had! The house is wonderful and the location is great!! We will be renting this home again soon and we can not wait!!!!

  My family just returned from our Spring Break vacation and am ready to go back! This rental is beyond the comforts of home! It's a laid back, very quaint location! The hammock is beyond words, the amenities are plentiful, and the space is perfect! We had 2 teenaged girls and a 7 year old boy and no one was ever bored! The ONLY 2 complaints I could conger up would be... #1 more hangers:) and #2. We had to leave! I am an oceanfront only type person, but chose this place for it's cleanliness and amenities and was not disappointed! You can actually hear the waves crashing! Highly recommended and will be back! SOON

  This is a great place to stay. Even though we were here during the rain at the end of September, we still had a fine time. The place is spacious, well-kept, and homey. The game room is a nice touch. We used it often when weather prevented us from going out. The relax-factor was satisfied, and the men got to go fishing. We highly recommend the accomodations and location of this property!
