Two of us enjoyed the beautiful rural setting of our two bedroom accommodation, a perfect location/base for a week of touring the Luberon, Verdon, and Mont Ventoux areas of Provence. The apartment was comfortable and well-furnished for indoor and outdoor use. The owner, who lives in an adjacent house and is always working at taking care of the large property, couldn't have been more accommodating and lovely to get to know. We've very fond memories of our stay, thanks to both the very special setting and the comfort of the place and our cross-cultural experience with the owner. Highly recommended to those who value being in the countryside, close to natural beauty.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from our first trip to Provence and found L'Olivieraie the perfect spot for visiting the Luberon region of France. As others have said, it is a little hard to find the first time. It is a very comfortable cottage with everything you need to be comfortable in the country. We had the good fortune to be there when the cherry trees which surround the house we ripe and Marie Christine encouraged us to enjoy them! She was a thoughtful host bringing us the fixing for dinner the night we arrived because all the stores in the area we closed. We were able to visit so many villages from this great location and then return to a very comfortable house where we sometimes made dinner and sometimes just relaxed on one of the porches. We highly recommend this property to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our schedule didn't allow us to visit till late October, but I would highly recommend L'Oliveraie even so late in the year. We had a little rain and temps were cool... but the colors were marvelous and most of the tourists you'll see are French families taking advantage of a school holiday week. The lavender is past, of course, but the vineyard colors are spectacular as are the fruit trees. We were looking for a combination mountain vacation (think: White Mts of New Hampshire, Sierra or Rockies foothills, or our own West Va) and weren't disappointed: this is amazing terrain... and you get thousand year old villages and French cuisine to boot! Tour guides tend to dismiss Apt but we liked it a lot: very ordinary working town but with considerable charm and lots of conveniences. The hill towns were so interesting that we never made it to Avignon or Arles, though we easily could have (Aix makes a good lunch stop on the way from the airport). Gite Olive is a well-equipped and comfortable place (best, I think, for two at this time of year -- 4 would work fine in summer). I save the best for last: the Psailas are wonderful hosts and do everything they can to make your vacation great. Mme speaks great English and is patient and encouraging with those of us who speak Franglais (and will never make it to the Academie Francaise), We look forward to returning!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed here in July with our two young children. I'd like to echo all the positive comments so far, the gite is well-equipped, comfortable and clean, the grounds are lovely, the pool is gorgeous and perfectly maintained, the location is second-to-none - quiet and relaxed yet close to everything. But it's all about the owner, Marie-Christine: she is a lovely warm person, tremendously helpful and full of excellent recommendations, always available but never intrusive.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed in L'Oliveraie at the end of May. The location is well situated between Sagnion and Apt. The Gite is quite large and very clean, the kitchen was well stocked with equipment although you will need to get your own spices, etc. The back porch was nice and cool and if you wanted sun, the pool was very inviting. The property is very quiet and peaceful and the I really enjoyed taking the trail to Sagnion every morning to get fresh pastries. Marie Christine was very helpful and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Groceries can be purchased from Apt (Take the first right when you hit the round about in Apt)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My family and I just returned from an amazing visit to Provence. My husband, myself and our two young children stayed at L'Oliveraie and my parents stayed at Cerise for two wonderful weeks. The cottages were absolutely charming! They were very clean, cozy and were very well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen during our stay. The gardens surrounding the cottages are enchanting and super well maintained. The countryside in this area is so peaceful and serene. Our hosts, Marie-Christine and Roland were most welcoming and hospitable. They were friendly, helpful and I only wish we could have stayed longer to get to know them better. I highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone wanting to get a taste of Provence!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

WE ENJOYED 3 WONDERFUL WEEKS AT L"OLIVERAIE. THE ACCOMMODATION IS COMFORTABLE AND ATTRACTIVE INSIDE AND OUT. WE ENJOYED USING THE WELL PLANNED KITCHEN, EVERYTHING FUNCTIONED VERY WELL. THE OUTSIDE PATIOS ARE BOTH WONDERFUL AND WE USED THEM BOTH FOR EATING AND RELAXING. THE AIR- CONDITIONING WORKED PERFECTLY THROUGHOUT OUR STAY. THE POOL IS BEAUTIFUL AND WELL KEPT. THE WEATHER IN MID-SEPTEMBER WAS A LITTLE TOO COOL FOR US TO SWIM. THE PSAILA'S ARE GENEROUS AND CARING HOSTS. THEY VISITED REGULARLY AND PROVIDED LOVELY SEASONAL TREATS. WE THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE FOR THE GITE AND WOULD RETURN AGAIN. THE LOCATION IS PERFECT FOR VISITING MANY BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN THE LUBERON, WHICH WE DID EACH DAY. WE ALSO ENJOYED SAIGNON VERY MUCH. WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE TO MANY OF THE WEEKLY MARKETS TO BUY WONDERFUL PRODUCE, BREADS, PRESERVES, SCARVES, CLOTHING, ETC. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GITE L'OLIVERIAE. IN SAIGNON WE ENJOYED THE " COFFEE SHOP CHRISTINE", AND ' RESTAURANT SOLVEIG". THEY WERE BOTH EASY AND COMFORTABLE AND FUN. IN ST. SATURNIN LES APT OUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IS "ST. HUBERT", WONDERFUL FOOD AND REASONABLE PRICES. WE ATE THERE SEVERAL TIMES. THE LOCATION IS SUPERB FOR VISITING THE ENTIRE LUBERON AND IS WELL WORTH A STAY.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We stayed at this beautiful gite in Saignon for a week and it was a little bit of Paradise. We had all the comforts of home — 2 refrigerators, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, shower, TV and beautiful grounds with a swimming pool. It was so peaceful sitting outside to dine or just relax and watch the sunset. It is centrally located in the Luberon within easy drive to all the famous villages in the Provence. It is gated and near the family home. Madame Marie-Christine and her husband are the perfect hosts and very helpful with our questions as to what to see, how far, or how long to get there. They even helped us to find lodging on the coast when we left. It was a dream come true for our 50th anniversary.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We friendly shared the 50 Th anniversary cake ! We've been delighted to broaden horizons again with such kind guests. Thanks for having chosen our cottage in Provence. MC & R

Our week in the "Cerise" house was delightful. The house was nicely furnished, very comfortable and clean. A perfect place for relaxing by the pool or as a base for day trips in the Luberon. The owners were most welcoming and helpful in all respects. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the delicious cherries from the tree just outside our door. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
