This gorgeous family or couple retreat is located in Keystone Resort in Summit County Colorado and is the only RockResort currently in this county. RockResorts are a select group of Resorts renowned for their natural beauty and amenities. Our family chose to purchase this unit after looking all over this county for the best view and best place for US to have fun. We rent this unit out on a limited basis.
It is our getaway as we live close to here, thus it is maintained with all the items a family could use. Be careful when you rent in Keystone as many places say they are slopeside and many are not (you have to walk and carry lots of gear for your kids which is very cumbersome) The way to go in all of these resorts are to utilize free bus service provided by Keystone Resort that actually drop you as CLOSE TO THE SLOPES as you can get.
The largest lot in Keystone for cars is full with locals very early and can be a long walk to the base. Please email me if you want the real skinny on how things work, even if you don't rent from us. Keystone resort offers service to Keystone and Arapahoe Basin and covered parking which is extremely difficult to find in this county. In addition it has the largest outdoor heated pool in the county and the full service spa services are wonderful. The gym is fully equipped and has full length windows for a great view when you work out.
The kitchen has all the amenities of a home. We have provided a full range of utensils and cookware as well as crock-pot, full spice rack and numerous coffees/teas/cider and hot chocolate for your personal use. The bathrooms are fully stocked with fluffy towels and a great assortment of bath products plus curling irons, blow dryers and many other "extras" one would find in your own home.
There are a few outdoor fire pits on the premises and in addition during the Holidays the lobby/resort is decorated beautifully with a magical fully working CHOCOLATE village and train in the middle of the resort. Ice sculptures abound and ice skating or walking in the cool crisp air is invigorating. Local shops abound and Factory Outlet stores boasting a myriad of great shopping for those that are not up to outdoor activities or need a shopping fix. Keystone is also the only ski/boarding area that offers night skiing.
Our unit is the only one bedroom unit with a fully closed off bedroom and it's own personal bathroom upstairs. Most units advertised for this price are very small. Ask about square footage before renting. Ours is 900 square feet as we have added onto upstairs, enclosed it from a loft to a private bedroom and put in a bath upstairs so you ladies (like myself) do not have to stumble down a long set of stairs in the night after a day on the slopes.
Our unit is a gorgeous end unit with unobstructed double story large windows overlooking the Snake River and Dillon Valley. The bedroom window offers stunning views of Keystone Lake and Loveland Pass and the runs of Keystone. It has brand new carpeting, ceiling fans in master and main area, new paint in muted earth tones, great decorations, lots of storage and it is amazingly cozy with fireplace and a large selection of movies, games and a Wii system for your pleasure. Wifi, book selection and stereo system with IPOD input are also in the unit. Turn on the fireplace, pour some hot chocolate and enjoy a night watching the snow fly or just gazing out at the sights and sounds of the Snake River right out your window.
We have even included items you will not find anywhere else like sleds for the kids to take right out the door and Video games system if you desire. This is truly a wonderful place to stay and we have tried to price it reasonable for folks to enjoy. Please email me if you would like more pictures or in general ask questions about the area. We are avid cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders and know a whole lot about this area in general. I have started a blog to show pictures of the area and this can be seen at liveforneversummer at blogspot dot com. I am new at the blog thing so have patience with me regarding that.
As far as renter reviews, I added them recently (10/10) from the previous year as I did not know owners could add comments submitted to them directly from their rentals. I thought renters could only do that themselves. This past year was our first year renting out our condo on a limited basis.

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
The Nordeck family owns this unit and we have three teenagers and are avid cyclists/skiers/hikers and snowboarders except for our daughter who only perks up if the word "mall" is mentioned. Oh by the way there are Factory Outlets stores close for those shoppers amongst you. My husband and I are 50 years old and about three years ago I (the wife) took up snowboarding after being a long time skier. We love Keystone and all of this area. We especially like Dillon Lake and both my husband and I are big time cyclists in the summer. My kids are Colorado Natives and my husband and I have lived here most of our lives. We hang out at the firepit in the winter and talk or relax in the hot tub and pool. It has been a wonderful place to hang our hat so to speak and spend time as a family
Why the Owner Chose Keystone Village, Plaza
We picked Summit County over any other place in Colorado because of it's unique mix of cycling places and ski/boarding areas. Summit County has six ski/boarding areas in small radius in addition to Factory Outlet stores and a variety of local (affordable) as well upper end restaurants. The area is home to Lake Dillon which is massive and has boat rentals and bike trails galore. There is also a few very historical towns nearby such as Leadville (a very old mining town and highest city in the US) which architecture and antique shops and overall history fascinate us. There are things here not many folks think about like a library, natural caves, excellent hiking and skate parks for skateboarders.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
I love this unit as it is an end unit and views of the Snake River and natural wetlands are phenomenal. From the unit you can look down the Snake River to Dillon Valley and at night they is so little noise you can hear the river raging. Wildflowers in the summer are everywhere but my family are snowbabies and love to play in the snow. I find it to be so relaxing up there. Listening to music, playing games with my family, going to the hot tub and the pool. We hang out at the firepit in the winter and talk or relax in the hot tub and pool. It has been a wonderful place to hang our hat so to speak and spend time as a family or a romantic getaway for the two of us.

Thanks for allowing my family to use your condo during Christmas Vacation. We really enjoyed the location and the amenities your unit had to offer. We felt very welcome and you were very helpful and accessible when we had questions about the unit and our reservation. My children loved having 2 bathrooms and the full kitchen available. It made Preparing meals much easier for us. We look forward to booking your unit again in the future. Enjoy the snow. It was great this year. Ardis

Donna: Not sure you got our message as we had to leave early due to snow storm and needing to drive to get back home (Texas). We really enjoyed your condo, it was warm and friendly and had everything the kids needed. We never even had to turn on the heat as the sunshine through the windows warmed the whole condo. The view was lovely. The kids had a great time skiing.

We stayed here the last week of January 2010 and we loved it! We felt like we were at home - so much that we didn't even go out to dinner or for drinks every night like we usually do on our trips. The condo was convenient to a few restaurants and a convenience store, including a steakhouse we really enjoyed. The free Keystone shuttle service is great to get around town and to the ski resort. We also went to Breckenridge and A-basin, which were only a few minutes away! Even took a short drive to Vail. We had some family rent a similar condo, but there was no comparison - Donna's condo was decorated nicely and was cozy. The second bathroom was very convenient as we had other friends meet up with us for a few days. Donna is great! She gave us tons of insight on the area and made the condo very welcoming. We will definitely stay here again on our next Keystone trip! :)
