Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! We first visited our soon-to-be Maine home in the winter of 2007. The property carpeted in two feet of snow, the lake frozen, we would soon realize our vision of sipping coffee on the spacious screened porch, a gentle summer breeze rippling sparkling lake water. That first summer was magical. The days were filled with kayaking and swimming. The nights were spent stargazing and toasting marshmallows around the fire pit. Simply put, we were reconnecting – with family and nature. The transition into autumn is seamless in Maine. The burst of foliage, cool crisp air and local apple picking is magical. Baked apple pie and cozying-up with a great book from our library couldn’t be more appealing. Next comes winter and skiing at Shawnee Peak, only 30 minutes north west, and Sunday River, about one hour north. Returning home to a roaring fire, a home cooked meal and a family board game is the perfect ending to a perfect day. In the spring, when the snow gives way to budding trees and returning wildlife, our Maine home is a perfect get-away to re-energize after a long, cold winter.
Why the Owner Chose Crescent Lake
Our home is a beautiful modern Victorian style situated on a large, level lot facing southwest. The private sandy beach is perfect for families with small children, since there is no drop off or sharp rocks. Crescent Lake is a serene, low traffic lake.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Rinse off at the outdoor solar powered shower after your swim in the lake -- or after a competitive game of basketball or volleyball. Life vests, a single kayak and double kayak, and a 5-person paddle boat for your use. Fishing gear for your use.

We have recently returned from a wonderful week in this property with our friends- a total of four adults and four children. We would have changed nothing...the property was spacious and clean and so well equipped we couldn't have asked for anything more. We have such great memories to take away with us - the lake, the evening fires watching the stars, the wonderful house, the kayaking ....the list is endless. The owners were on hand if we needed them but there was no problems at all. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone it was the highlight of our summer.

and we all agreed. But if we bought it, how would the Dyers take such good care of us?! They are the best and most considerate people we have ever rented from. The house was comfortable and MORE than well stocked. Bring your clothes and food and relax. The lake, the recreation, the loons...glorious. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. Thanks again!

The only expression we have is "awesome experience". Everyone in our group agrees that this is a place worth visiting multiple times. Your attention to every detail made our vacation a pleasant one. We loved the comfort of the house, toys for kids, a great entertainment system, kayaks, and keyboard. We loved this trip and hope to be back.

We had a great time! Right on the New Year, the snow started to fall. It was amazing. The snow storm covered the ground with a beautiful, fluffy white carpet of snow. We went snow boarding, skiing and snowmobiling.....And we made a snowman!

We’d like to express our gratitude to you for opening your home to us this winter. It was very important to our family to spend Christmas with my mother and ailing father. The house was perfect! We had four generations for Christmas dinner, and they all loved it! We would love to come back during the summer and enjoy the summer activities.

This is our second time spending the week at your home. We love your house! Last year we had only 2 kids in our clan, but this year we added three new babies to the mix. The house still accommodated all of us easily. The large front grassy lawn was great for the older kids, and we loved the fire pit. We had fantastic weather all week. Hope to be here next year!

We have been going to New Hampshire for the past 14 years and decided we wanted to see Maine's Lake region......what can we say.....your home is beautiful and only made our stay here the best vacation yet! We love the room -- the view -- the loons -- and every amenity one could want! Our family vacation was very very enjoyable -- thanks to you.

What a wonderful location! The yard, the beach, and, of course, the house itself far exceeded all of our expectations! My 2 year old nephew had a great time in the sand and in the playroom. We had mostly rain this past week, but relaxed with puzzles, air hockey and soaks in the jacuzzi tub. On a few sunny days we took out the kayaks and floated about in the lake. All seven of us slept comfortably and had a great week.
