Our property has been in our family since the early 1940's. We recently rebuilt the main house to accommodate our vacations with my elderly mother. Being part Hawaiian I have enjoyed the Makaha Beach environment for many years. Walking out in the early morning to search for shells, taking a leisurely swim in the surf that often includes a turtle swimming close by are incredible memories that I enjoy of this spot.
Surfing, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Biking and Sailing are some of the activities to enjoy.
This property was used by the Navy for landing shore activities during WWII. When WWII ended and my father was out there surfing he had the opportunity to purchase this lot. We have had many fond memories out here ever since.

The real Hawaii
The real Hawaii
This vacation needed to be far away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. From the momment the front door opened we knew the house wouldn't disappoint. The house was roomy, airy, well appointed and very clean. The location couldn't be beat. Over morning coffee on one of the two lanai's (one off each bedroom) we would comment to each other that it felt as if we had our very own semi private beach. A winter storm had passed to the northeast of the Islands and generated some high surf mid week and monster surf for the weekend we were there. We watched a surfing competition from the lanai where some waves must have reached 30 feet in height. Whale watching and perfect sunsets were part of every day life. We had a very relaxing and quite vacation, but still managed to visit the north shore and downtown Honolulu.

About the owner: I am part Hawaiian have had many wonderful years with family and friends on Oahu. Being a lover of water - this has been a perfect location for watching wildlife from the shore or on boat out of Waianae Harbor.
Why the Owner Chose Makaha:
This was originally a private residence where my grandparents lived until their deaths. We have rebuilt the main house to accommodate vacations for myself and my elderly mother. We love the surf, sunsets and watching turtles/spinner dolphins and whales.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The beach is fantastic. We can watch the surf contests from our balcony as well as the whales migration without leaving our house.
