The property was clean and in good order. There was only 1 TV compared to the other properties in this location, which was disappointing for my children who do not have TV at home and always look forward to the luxury of TV on vacation. The vacuum cleaner needs service as it was difficult to clean up as well as the property owner would have liked after our stay..

We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time. The condo is very nice and comfortable. The only negative thing I would say is the noise from the nearby highway can be heard from the master bedroom. Otherwise, a great place to stay!!

Collins Lake

Overall, a very nice, clean rental. Have stayed several times at Collins Lake, and have found some places better than others. This one, was about in the middle. Not a ton of bells and whistles, but comfortable and adequate. I do prefer the units that have the extra alcove space, but we knew this one didn't going in, so we weren't too disappointed. The hideaway couch was not very comfortable, but I'm not sure if any of them are! Road noise was a bit much. Do prefer the buildings further away from the road. We all had fun regardless, and will continue to come back.

Recommended for:Families with young children, pet owners.

Government Camp Condo

This condo was an excellent find. The location was within easy walking distance to "downtown" and was certainly closer to Mt Hood activites than any other lodging to the west. The bathrooms, showers, disposal, and dishwasher were very good and the kitchen contained many helpful items. The condo must have been insulated well because the activites of next-door teenagers went unnoticed when the windows were closed. As nice as the condo was, the nearby property amenities were fantastic. Nearby woods, creek, heated pools, hot tubs, and clubhouse were in excellent condition and provided great morning and evening opportunities. The reservations were completed competently and the deposit was refunded promptly. Christine was very helpful and accommodating during this process. The 2 sets of stairs in this unit may be a bit much for climbing-challenged individuals. The deck faced the nearby highway and was noisy (but the inside was quiet). The electronics were a bit of a challenge to operate, even though there were written directions (that didn't seem to exactly match the gizmos). Still, the television and stereo and DVD worked well. The unit contained built-in speakers throughout, but we could not get them to function well. It would have been nice if the clubhouse area had opened earlier in the morning, but it was a vacation. We would not hesitate to return to this propery again. The Collins Lake Resort Propery easily appeared to be the most reasonably priced, up-scale property in the area.

Great ending after a rough start

We made it through a snowstorm only to have one of our chains break right in front of the condo garage door. We were worried how we were going to make it to timberline the next day. We called the property manager Chris to see if she could suggest somewhere to get new chains. Not only did she find a store that carried chains for our tires, she also picked them up and brought them to us. We were able to get up to Timberline and have a beautiful day skiing and another great day Friday. The condo was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The Govy camp store has just about anything you might have forgot from home. We also rented skis and a snowboard from Mountain Tracks and they were very helpful. Thank you Shawn and Chris for a great place to stay!

My family of 5 stayed here over spring break, and it was the perfect Mt. Hood condo. Not only are the accommodations at Collins Lake fabulous (heated outdoor pool/hot tubs, proximity to skiing & town), but this condo was more than I could've asked for: upscale yet still comfortable, modern, clean, and a cloud-like master bed! We appreciated that they allow pets, but you wouldn't know it by looking -- much nicer than other places allowing pets. The kitchen was well appointed, too. Thank you Christine and Shawn for a wonderful stay!

The Chalet has been a great place to enjoy a short vacation. Being right on the Mountain made it possible for us to make a day of snowshoeing on one day and skiing the next. Then to spend the evening in the great Hot Tub.

What a beautiful condo! The weather was perfect, soaking pool was great, and the skiing was awesome. This was such a great way to celebrate a birthday. We truly enjoyed the condo and would love to come back again.

WOW! What a beautiful Condo and very relaxing. My favorite part was the Giant Hot tub in the Forest. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo Nice after a long day!

We stayed in this condo this summer and were asked to actually pay the security deposit prior to our stay instead of just providing a credit card for a deposit in the event that something happened. The deposit did NOT go toward the cost of the condo and it was written in the contract it would be returned within two weeks of our stay. The condo was in great condition and the actual stay was lovely. Everything was as described and quite nice. Yet, more than two weeks went by since our stay and we did not receive our deposit. I finally contacted the owner and was told it was mailed days before. I was curious as to why a check was mailed since we paid via PayPal initially and he never contacted us asking us how we wanted repayment of the deposit. We waited several days and still, no check in the mail. Contacted the owner again and he claimed it was sent through his bank and it may have been delayed. Verified address with owner. Waited a week longer and contacted the owner again asking him to arrange another form of payment. At this time I received NO reply. I then went ahead to call the owner and tell him we wanted payment via PayPal that day. He did not want to pay via PayPal and claimed he wanted to avoid returned check fees through his bank. I let him know it had been over a month since our stay and over three months that he had our money and we wanted our money back right away. On the phone he was very vague and just told me he would "do his best" and would "see what he could do" Finally once I threatened to dispute the charge through our bank he DID eventually pay us via PayPal immediately. Not to our surpirse, NO check was ever received at our address, even though he had confirmed multiple times he had our correct address. I cant be sure, but it sure seems like there was never any intent to pay back that security deposit. So, this was a nice place but BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT!!!!!!

The place was perfectly cozy for the cold rainy days! We came up for a wedding at Timberline lounge and my family and wedding guests had a few vacation rentals here. The place was clean and comfortable. Plus it is convenient to all your needs. Christine, the property manager, was quick and efficient with all our communcation and was a pleasant person to work with.

Thank you so much! Our stay was wonderful, and the place was very Comfortable! We spent a great New Years Eve here together with family and Friends... It was Perfect! It was so nice to be so close to Timberline and Ski Bowl where we were able to enjoy two days of skiing. Thank you again the place is Beautiful and we would love to come back.
