Kailua house description

Accommodations: One bedroom with queen bed, private entrance, private bathroom with combination tub and shower. Ceiling fans and individually controlled air conditioning. 32 inch flat screen TV with cable channels, DVD player and DVD library. Coffee maker with complimentary coffee, microwave and compact refrigerator in kitchenette. Sony AM/FM CD Player with iPOD dock/charger and free high speed wireless internet. Free use of washer and dryer, including detergent & softener. Two beach chairs, towels, two masks and snorkels, two beach mats and one cooler provided. And, no need to worry about taking shampoo, conditioner and body wash with you, or buying it once you get here. We supply Pantene shampoo, conditioner, and Dial body wash in a shower dispenser- more than enough for your entire stay, plus a Waterpik shower head.

Location: Adjacent to Kailua beach park in a quiet residential setting. Park steps away.

Ideally situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and less than a five minute stroll from one of the world's best beaches, Hale Lilikoi is your Hawaii home away from home. You'll find that being on Hawaii time means more than setting your watch back a few hours. The pace of life is slower here and there's always time to smile and talk story.

The town of Kailua, lying between the Ko'olau mountains and the sea, has a wealth of shops and restaurants, despite its modest size. There are more than 50 dining options to accommodate every taste and budget. Other needs are met by 4 supermarkets, 5 banks, 2 drug stores, 5 gas stations, and dozens of shops for clothing, art and keepsakes.

You'll encounter historic Kalapawai market, a mainstay of Kailua since 1932, on your walk to the beach where you can stock up on drinks, sandwiches and sundries.

Our breezy windward side of Oahu is perfect for outdoor activities. On your way to Kailua beach stop at Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks to arrange kayak tours and rentals, windsurfing and kite surfing, snorkeling, surfing, and bicycling. Several public golf courses are near by, and hiking opportunities abound.

As our guest, you'll have complimentary use of a full-featured Garmin automotive GPS with 3-D maps and turn-by-turn voice directions including spoken street names.
There's lots of great stuff out there to see, do & eat. But getting to them can be a problem- because Oahu's roads can be plenty confusing.
To help, we provide you with printed lists of our favorite attractions and local restaurants, all of which we've programmed into the GPS.
Among the 43 attractions are Hanauma bay, Sunset beach, Diamond Head, Polynesian Cultural Center and the USS Arizona Memorial.
The restaurant list has 60 local eateries, and we've gathered menus for 36 of them for you to preview.
A printed quick- start guide for the GPS is provided to get you out and exploring in no time. Plus, the GPS has thousands of built- in destinations such as Banks & ATM's, gas stations, shopping, theaters and much more.
Check in time is 3pm. Check out time is 11 am.

After returning to the Kailua after almost 30 years, my stay here with my wife was wonderful. The owner was gracious, helpful and accommodating, but not intrusive. There were a ton of items to borrow, such as boogie boards, beach chairs, mask, fins, etc. which were great to not have to purchase. The unit was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the night breeze that would come in the large sliding doors next to the bed. We would definitely stay there again.

Owner response: Aloha Steve, a pleasure to share the beauty of Kailua's tropical paradise w/ you & Carla. Looking forward to your return! Laurel.

My folks were celebrating their 50th with a short three day stop in Oahu. This was a great economical clean stay that they appreciated. Thanks for your attention to them and making their stay enjoyable!

Laurel has equipped her lovely bungalow with everything you'll need for a casual time on the mellower part of the island. Both Kailua Beach Park and Lanikai are within walking distance. I walked every day to the beach in the morning...so beautiful. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs, and I definitely appreciated the use of the washer and dryer by midweek. Laurel was so accommodating when I needed a little first aid help (from a slip down the nearby Pillbox trail). Kailua is certainly a most welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki when we're on business...a completely casual Hawaiian experience. We've already told Laurel we'll be back! Mahalo, Laurel!

We really enjoyed our stay with Laurel and black lab, Maile, in the lovely studio apartment. Amenities and setting were just as described and Laurel was very friendly and helpful with suggestions as to activities, restaurants, etc. We enjoyed nearby Kailua and Lanikai beaches as well as quiet Waimanalo Beach near Hawaii Kai. We drove the scenic routes to the north and south, hiked Diamond Head and visited the wonderful Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe, the Aloha Stadium market and the lagoons of Ko Olina. We enjoyed shaved ice in Haleiwa and even better at the local Island Snow, a short walk from the house. We had a nice casual breakfast at the nearby market (there since 1932) and a lovely breakfast with locals at Cinnamon's in town. Good, friendly service was the norm at shops, grocery stores and restaurants in Kailua and elsewhere on the island. In Kailua we enjoyed dinners at The Shack for burgers, the Whole Foods store for the salads and entrees bar (wine and beer offered too and outside seating complete with music!), lovely Italian food at Assaggio's, good fare at Saeng's Thai and stir-frys at Big City Diner. The GPS was a big help!

A truly sweet place located conveniently in one of the mellowest areas of the Island. Walk to beach, great deli and coffee shop. Great hostess and guide for all thing on the island, I would return anytime. David McBurnetrt

After checking out the different places in Honolulu and Waikiki, we decided on getting way from the traffic and found this place in Kailua. This unit was ideal and the owner was very personable and answered any questions we had. THE UNIT Located right in Kailua. Very close to gorgeous beaches. Very easy to drive in and out of town to get to anywhere on Oahu and only about a 20 - 25 minute drive to the Waikiki area. The goody basket was great to see when we arrived. The pineapple that the owner provided for us in the fridge was incredibly sweet. The A/C was very welcoming as well. The only thing you won't have is a stove if you're into cooking your meals. THE AREA Kailua is a great little town. The Thursday afternoon Kailua market is a fun place to find dinner. And Cinnamon's is a great place for breakfast (expect a wait). Our stay on Oahu was short but we enjoyed staying here.

We loved Laurel's suite. The walk to the beach was easy. Quiet neighborhood. Close to restaurants and groceries. She provided coffee and fresh fruit. Beach supplies. Great location. Wish we could have stayed longer.

We really liked this place. Laurel was a great hostess. She really thought of everything!! I got a little sunburn on the back of my neck and sure enough, there was Aloe Vera available in the bathroom. Fresh Fruit and pastries were available for breakfast. Washer and dryer availability were great so we didn't have to take home wet clothes. The location was great. Kailua Beach was beautiful. My husband thought the bed was uncomfortable but I slept great!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We felt comfortable and welcome as we 'laid low' for the week. The location is perfect - short walk to the beach and a little longer walk to town. The studio was delightful and bright with plants at the front door and back. Thanks, Laurel!!
