  You worry when renting a property that the real thing does not live up to the pictures. At villa venado the real thing is better. This is a first class property. Gorgeous from top to bottom. Really high class place. I don't know if I've ever stayed in a nicer place. Juliana and jeff, the owners, were amazing to deal with and so helpful setting everything up. Even called while we were there to make sure we were all happy. Nice touch Tony the house manager was there to fulfil our every need, we asked and it was done. Cabs, golfing, reservations, etc. The staff, Jorge and the chefs were so helpful around the house, cooking, cleaning and helping with anything we asked all with a smile. I could go on and on really. We were a group of 14 guys really looking to let loose so I am sure we were a handful, but the staff always had a smile and just made our time there so easy and fun. The people, the pool, the rooms all really just top notch. I could go on and on. If I or my friends make it back to puerto Vallarta this will definitely be the first accommodation option to look into. This is a winning rental, don't miss out.

  This Villa is AMAZING! This was my 9th trip back to Puerto Vallarta and this villa was BY FAR the best place I have ever stayed at. It's 1/2 way in between Mismaloya and Zona Romantica. It does take about 15 minutes to get into town but once we got there we realized that we didn't really need to leave. The staff was awesome and the Chef was AMAZING! Little tip - I know Hamburgers doesn't really sound like something you would order from a chef but we had it on the last day and the way she mixed the ingredients for the hamburgers was the best I have ever had. I want to pay to go back to PV for 1 day just to have her cooking again. The villa was kept extremely clean and they had a great selection of DVD's. They don't have any boardgames though so we bought and left UNO downstairs next to the pool restroom. Also something it didn't really show in the pictures is that there are even pinball machines and a shuffle board down on the 2nd of 5 levels. One of my favorite things about the villa is the view. No matter where you are in the house you have a BEAUTIFUL view. It's also located above a cool resort "Garza Blanca" that you can walk down to and they have two restaurants and a day rate for the pool if you want to be around other people but we never did because we were too happy at the house. Other tips - Have the houseman order a Yoga Instructor ($120) and move the furniture down by the pool table to do Yoga over looking the swimming pool. Also you can have a massage therapist come to the house as well. They always say $50 but in off season you can talk them into $350 pesos (Under $30).

  WOW; this property is amazing! This was the first time I rented a vacation home because usually we will stay in a hotel, but I am so glad we chose to rent this home because it was much more relaxing than being in a hotel. The home is extremely spacious and every room has these amazing doors the length of a wall, that open allowing for clear views of the ocean. Everything in the house is brand new. The kitchen was fully stocked when we arrived with all of the items we requested, so there was no need to go grocery shopping. The only place in this house that you can not see the ocean from is one of the bathrooms downstairs. The pool table and game room kept the kids occupied which gave us adults plenty of time to relax under the palapa hut outside on the deck . We asked the home owners if they knew of a scuba dive instructor and they had one on call that came to the house and gave private scuba lessons. This is the perfect home for 2-3 families to share or for 6-7 couples to share on vacation...it is massive. I will definitely be staying at this home again in the near future. If you are looking to get away from the hotel scene, then you MUST stay here!

  WOW was all I can say when we walked through the antique gates into the courtyard. And we had yet to enter the house. It is magnificent! The ceilings are two stories high with glass walls that look out at the most magnificent view of Bahia Banderas. Every room is decorated with great attention to details. Each bedroom has it's own style, with very comfortable beds, linens and so many pillows you can loose yourself. Each en suite bath has unique granite designed showers and sinks with state of the art fixtures. The tile work is astounding and all done in warm natural colors.The house manager Tony had us all picked up at the airport and there were Marguritas and Dips waiting for us. We chose to have a Chef cook the first night which was a great idea, we did not want to leave. The pool and jacuzzi and the palaypa bar were too good to be true. After an amazing meal and sunset we drifted into the media room and settled into the surround sound system and played pool on the antique pool table.The staff was so attentive, we felt like we were at a 5 star hotel! Thank you for having us, we will return.

• Simply Spectacular

  On a bit of a whim, 7 friends got together and headed south to Puerto Vallarta for a week of sun. The VRBO property looked pretty incredible and we wondered what the catch was going to be. Much to our delight, Villa Venado was more spectacular than the listing boasted. Every attention to detail was used in the construction, design and furnishing of this expansive, gorgeous home, from floor lighting illuminating artwork and artifacts to luxurious bedding that you wanted to lie in all day long. While the weather was a bit cloudy the first couple of days, this only provided the most dramatic and exotic of sunsets that enveloped us in colour from every room. We did see a mother and baby humpback whale breaching in the panoramic ocean bay one morning and the bird population had us passing the binoculars back and forth at every breakfast. The pool was lovely, the leather furniture soft and comfortable, and the kitchen became a hub of activity with everyone participating in creating fabulous mexican meals. The size and design of the home allowed everyone to do as they pleased without fear of intrusion or exclusion. We did venture out to scare ourselves at the Los Verano Canopy Tours just 20 minutes south along the picturesque coast line and the experience did not disappoint. This particular zip line facility was in a very pretty valley with a very inviting restaurant and very entertaining staff. We shopped and watched the Mardi Gras parade on the waterfront promenade in old town and basically had a fabulous, relaxing getaway. We would highly recommend it to family and friends and look forward to our return, thanks so much Jeff, Juliana and all the staff.

  Villa Venado far exceeded my expectations. Prior to arrival, the owners were very easily to work with, and they had everything arranged for us. Tony, the house manager, had his brother pick us up at the airport. Tony had been busy shopping for everything we requested. As soon as we passed the "shark tank" of time-share sellers in the airport, we were greeted by Tony's brother. The hospitality began immediately and continued throughout the trip. We arrived to fresh margaritas, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Tony gave us a tour of the breathtaking house. Every room is fantastic, but the master bedroom was really something special. The views of the bay are incredible, the house was very roomy, and quality art provided very nice decoration. The house was stocked with everything we needed. Tony did our shopping for us, though he did take us to a local seafood market that was a real treat. The pool was perfect. The staff adjusted the temperature of the water for us as we desired. The hotub would get as hot as we could stand it. The built-in sound system with Sonos control was incredible. If we wanted to go to the beach, it was a 10 min walk down the hill. However, we much preferred the pool. The wifi and Vonage services worked well. The staff were great. Tony would get anything we needed. The housekeepers kept the villa spotless and took care of our laundry. The chef Marianna was superb. We asked her to cook mostly Mexican, and she prepared fantastic Mahi tacos, chicken with mole sauce, enchiladas verde and rancheros, fish and shrimp ceviche, and stewed pork tacos. Her guacamole and pico de gallo were always great. Our favorite breakfast dish was banana pancakes. Garza Blanca resort is located just under the villa. We ate dinner one night at Blanca Blue and found it to be very good but not particularly noteworthy. The spa at the resort was very good with incredible views. It took about 15-20 min by taxi to get into town for about $100 pesos. Taxis were very plentiful. Dinner at Cafe des Artistes was excellent, and I would highly recommend venturing into town to eat there.

  Villa Venado is a truly spectacular place to stay. My family stayed here for 1 week and was fabulous. The cook made amazing meals for us. Tony, the house manager scheduled massages for most of us in the group. The owners of this Villa also own Canopy Los Veranos which is a great zipline canopy tour and had a blast. My family and I would highly recommend this place to unwind and relax. You are close enough to Vallarta but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Great Beach too!

  My family arrived at the airport and was greeted by our house manager Tony. I am glad that we opted to have him restock the villa and could go directly there from the airport. The pictures are beautiful but when you see this custom furnished place, you will be amazed. There is a view of Banderas Bay from most every room in the house. We went to town a couple of evenings though we all preferred to enjoy the dinners prepared for us by the chef and relaxing by the pool. This villa is fairly new, maybe 3 years old and has been very well maintained. They spared no expense including on the beds and bedding. We plan on coming back again in November and am looking into making reservations already! Janine

  Wow! What a spectacular home. The attention to detail is just amazing. Believe it or not, it looks even better than in the pictures. The service was excellent, with the house staff taking care of all of our cooking, cleaning and food/beverage shopping. Thanks Sochi! I felt like I was staying at a five-star hotel. The house is located in a very private gated development, but is only about a ten minute cab ride from town (cabs are easy to come by). So you get the best of both worlds -- a private villa and easy access to the town. Lastly, the owners were a pleasure to deal with. They helped take care of all the logistics (airport transfers/stocking up on food/beverages before arrival, etc.) before arrival and provided excellent insight on what to do and where to go in PV. I plan on going back and would highly recommend this villa to anyone else traveling to the area.

  This was the best Villa that I have ever seen! Magnificient ocean views, the house is located in a private area. We had the best time at Villa Venado! Our group really enjoyed the beautiful house and all it's amenities. In fact, I really had no desire to leave the house! The setting is just beautiful and the home itself was incredible. Xolchi (not sure of spelling!) was very helpful and did a great job for us. We all loved having Chef Mary come; everyone loved her food, even the kids! It was much more enjoyable than going to a restaurant.

  Our family just returned from Puerto Vallarta and spent 20 days in the most fabulous home. While the pictures ahead of time were absolutely beautiful, we were in no way prepared for what we walked into upon arrival. The house was absolutely beautiful! Every room was spacious, the beds were extremely comfortable and we were all able to relax and enjoy the game room, living, kitchen, etc. We were greeted and picked up by Zavalla at the airport and our vacation was worry free from that moment on. He even went shopping with me the next day to help find things and translate. Xochitl, the live in housekeeper, and her daughter were incredible. They took such great care of us cleaning, making us breakfast, doing our laundry and essentially taking care of our every need that we wanted to bring them home with us when we left. She also went shopping with and for us and escorted our family to a local orphanage so we could interact with the employees and children and bring things they needed. They always went above and beyond! We can't say enough good things about the home and the service. Jeff and Juliana, the owners, fulfilled every promise and made sure our stay was exactly as they had represented it would be. We rented their boat, The Office, with Captain Zavala for fishing, whale watching, snorkeling and rides to beaches not accessible on the road system. The boys caught a ton of tuna and we were able to not only enjoy it during our stay but bring home two full coolers. The whales were beautiful and again the service of Zavala and his crew were beyond our expectations. We were also able to go on the Los Veranos zip line and we all enjoyed it...from our 6-year old daughter to our 62-year old mother. They took such great care of us! The location of the house was great, in a picturesque setting up on the hill looking over the ocean. Every room in the house takes advantage of this view and therefore we were all able to enjoy it at all hours of the day from working out in the weight room, lying by the pool, enjoying an evening or dining on the deck to going to bed at night. It was a short 10-minute drive to most anything, including old-town, the zoo, great restaurants and shopping. We will for sure look into renting this house again if our travels ever bring us back to Puerto Vallarta. We cannot thank Jeff and Juliana enough for sharing their piece of heaven with us! Furthermore, we can't thank Zavalla and Xochitl for taking such good
