This lovely hacienda-style home was completely and lovingly restored in 2002-2008, beautifully furnished in traditional decor, and complemented with all new appliances and plumbing.
Located in the heart of the village, it is in easy walking distance of fine restaurants, shops, galleries, and the central plaza.
The property is entirely enclosed within high stone walls, and is beautifully landscaped and planted with a profusion of tropical flowers and vines. It is ideal for entertaining any number of guests or for relaxing quietly, either under the massive Nofrfolk Island pine tree shading the patio or in and around the large pool.
Guadalajara, Mexico's second largest city, with its world class dining, shopping and entertaining, is only 45 minutes away.

The listing description is accurate and the photos reflect the appearance. In fact we took scores of photos, as did our fiends that visited, we just couldn't believe the flowers and the furniture and all the detailed decor. The property came with the services of a maid and a gardener who also looked after the pool. They were both very helpful and added greatly to our enjoyable stay. Renting this Hacienda and dealing with the owner was straightforward and up-front, all questions were answered satisfactorily. Also, we enjoyed the many restaurants in Ajijic we did not have a bad meal. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in Ajijic.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Even after seeing the photos online and reading the description, our jaws literally dropped when we walked into this beautiful hacienda. It was much larger than we anticipated and so beautifully built and decorated. Attention was given to the smallest detail. There were 9 of us and we all had our privacy and plenty of spots to be by ourselves or gather together. Ajijic is a hidden jewel in Mexico right on Lake Chapala. The people were very friendly and most spoke English. It was a joy walking around the colorful streets and trying the different restaurants, not to mention shopping. It was the most relaxing vacation mostly due to the beauty and comfort of the elegant hacienda. I can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This is the most wonderful place we have ever stayed and we have traveled the world. The property is beautiful and extremely well done. It is very spacious and the pictures in the listing, although pretty, do not do it justice. The outside is just as beautiful as the inside. We had a great trip and hope to return next year. Thank you so much Bob and Elaine for allowing us to enjoy your property for the week.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I have traveled throughout a good part of the world and there have been very few places that equal the beauty and elegance of your hacienda. Our stay was wonderful. We met some lovely expats and hosted a Mexican style barbeque one night to show off the beauty of your home. Thanks you for all your help in getting us there and making sure we were well taken care of.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This propery gave me goosebumps as I entered the courtyard. The lush vegetation, many gathering areas and the gorgeous pool within the walls of the property make you feel as if you are in your own piece of paradise. We could have lived outside with all the beautiful plants, kitchen and family areas. The main home gives the feeling of a regal resident, with all the modern conviences to make your stay comfortable. Fireplaces, large metal chandeliers, beautiful artwork and amazing furniture indeed allowed us to feel as though we were the king and queen of a castle. The attached casitas are cute and very useful for other guests to be staying, yet having their own space. It a very easy walk to the lake, or into the village to shop and have dinner. With this home, you really don't need to go anywhere but outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer and feel as though you are miles from civilization! Relaxation is the centerpoint of this beautiful vacation home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Why the Owner Chose Ajijic:
The Lake Chapala area of Mexico has one of the two best climates in the world. We enjoy Mexico's culture and its people, and also the many friends we've made in the large expatriate community there. Guadalajara is a marvelous city, and its airport is handy and functions well. After visiting the area for several years, we chose to establish a more permanent presence in our favorite place.
The Unique Benefits at this Hotel:
The only truly luxury Hotel in Lake Chapala.
