My husband and I stayed in the East suite and loved the unique accommodations, beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. Though the suites are located on Main Street and close to everything in town, the location was quiet and peaceful. Gracious host Michael let us see the West suite, and it's very nice, too. Our accommodations were clean and inviting, with a most comfortable bed and luxuriously sized bathtub. Differences in the two suites: the primary distinction is the use of Western decor in the West suite, and Bali/Thai decor in the East suite. Michael's website photos show the suites well. Both suites and their kitchen and bath areas are comparably sized. The refrigerator in the West suite is larger, and that suite has bigger windows and a Main Street mountain view. For people like my husband who like to sleep in a bit in the mornings, the East suite is probably a better choice. As an early riser, I'd happily stay in either suite, depending upon availability. We appreciated the 10% discount on merchandise offered in Michael & Sarinya's adjacent boutique to suite guests. They've imported fun clothes and jewelry and sell photographer Michael's beautiful images from around the world, so I was able to get an early start on my holiday shopping. We enthusiastically recommend the Lotus Mountain Suites and hope to return on one of our future trips to Ouray.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: I acquired this historical Main St building in 2004, originally named 'The OK stables' back in the early 1890's. Immediately, the renovation of the main building and the start of the Lotus Mountain Suites addition began. 5 years later and after alot of blood, sweat and tears my vision was realized. My wife and I operate the retail store and art gallery in the space below. 'The Lotus Boutique', a showroom of trendy clothing, home decor, fine jewelry and souvenirs, & 'Michael Burrows photography', Fine art gallery and studio....
