Casita du Marroc is a charming and intimate space situated on Taos Mesa, fourteen miles to the ski lifts and 7 minutes drive to the culture rich, and ethnically diverse, town of Taos.
Our views are magnificent with the mountains stretching out before the property - literally right outside your door. There’s a private patio to the side of the casita, and a bistro table for your morning coffee, so you can enjoy the views from sunrise to sunset.

The casita has Moroccan decor, with a huge shower and loads of panache - it has a kitchen with gas hob and toaster oven, a dining and sitting area, and the pillow top bed has an allergy free “feather bed” and a European duvet for use when the temperatures cool. You’ll be cosseted and cozy, no matter what the season -- there’s a Jotul gas stove to keep you snug in the winter while adding to the ambiance.

We use only eco friendly products for cleaning and laundry, we provide organic soaps, and our sheets are made of organic cotton.....so breathe easy and sleep sound.

As for entertainment, there’s so much to do here. Great music venues, plus five museums, over eighty art galleries, great restaurants, historic homes, and Taos Pueblo with it’s magnificent traditional dances. Ojo Caliente Hot Springs are just 30 minutes away, perfect for a long soak after a day hiking or on the slopes.

Casita du Marroc is the perfect hide-out for anyone looking for a unique, romantic & tranquil place to stay in this fabulous town of ours, and there’ll be a bottle of wine waiting for you to enjoy on your first relaxing evening........we want you to start unwinding as soon as you arrive.

Please note that we do not charge a cleaning fee if the casita is left in a reasonably clean state.

This little Casita was perfect. It was a delightful place full of enchanting colors and patterns (while in Taos I actually bought a table cloth that matched delightfully), the heater was warm, the bed cozy, the kitchen fun to use (bucket sinks!) and the fez on the wall just what was needed for a vacation picture. Upon leaving the front door I found the owner, Marianne, to be a delightful hostess and conversation companion, Buddy the dog soft and sweet, and the view from the front door breathtaking enough to paint - which I did. Even the neighborhood rapscallion dog was ridiculously friendly and enjoyable. Why yes, I am planning my next trip back here. Did you doubt?

This casita is a wonderful place to stay. My husband & I loved it. It is beautiful , well appointed and private. The bottle of wine waiting for us was just what we needed after our long drive from the Grand Canyon.

This is a beautifully decorated, all in one room, cozy place to stay. As someone who cooks on vacation, it was a bit challenging with the limited counter space in the kitchen area. Other than that, it is a lovely place, high end kitchen and bathing products, overall lovely. And an excellent value at the price. Also great to be easily accessible without going through town, unless you want to do so. Rosie provided lots of good material on activities and hikes in the area. I highly recommend staying here.

Owner response: Thanks Ellen for your kind comments so glad you enjoyed your stay. I do encourage all guests to take a good look at the 16 photo's on the site some of which show the kitchen. I have to admit that while the kitchen facilities are perfectly adequate for everyday holiday living, the casita is not meant for gourmet cooking holidays, nor is it priced as such.

My partner and I spent a few days relaxing in Taos on our way home from a business trip. We couldn't have picked a better spot. The casita is beautifully decorated, private, ultra cozy and super clean. There are just too many artistic details to mention but we appreciated them all. The view from the grounds is wonderful and we enjoyed our morning coffee looking out onto the mountains. The casita is situated in the fenced grounds of the owner's home, but is very private. We were provided with a welcoming bottle of wine and lots of info on what was going on in the area. I'd read another review which said that Casita du Marroc was how Taos used to be in the days of "Easy Rider"......I think that reviewer hit the nail on the head. This is the less chaotic side of Taos, i.e. no traffic jams. All together a great trip Rosie G. Thank you for you wonderful casita, we'll be back in the summer.

The Casita du Marroc is fabulous. It is very private. It's one large room, with areas for cooking, eating, snuggling on the loveseat, as well as sleeping. The bathroom is a work of art. The shower is cylindrical adobe with beautiful tiling! The owner was very congenial and left lots of information about surrounding activities. There are even flip-flops to take with when visiting Ojo Caliente! It's a great deal at a good price.

We arrived for the Fall colors and we weren't disappointed. The views from the grounds are just beautiful, looking straight out onto the mountain. The casita is beautifully decorated and the bed is ultra comfortable with nice linens. The bathroom is so unusual with many charming details. The place is ultra clean - not always the case with a holiday rental, unfortunately. The owner, Gai, was so helpful and gracious and made some excellent recommendations for dining, sightseeing and hiking. This was our second visit and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Taos. We thought the year round offer of 'stay 6 days get 1 extra night free' very fair indeed.

Thank you, Rosie, for your graciousness. My husband and I spent seven nights at your casita (late March/early April) and truly appreciated the quiet street and low (almost non-existent) level of traffic. It made the evenings so much more enjoyable, especially after busy days. You truly do have an artistic flair that is evident in the many details--the entire casita is absolutely spotless (which we SO appreciated) and thoughtfully appointed; nothing is left untouched by your hand. It is evident that you care deeply about your guest house, and your guests are the benefactors.

What a gorgeous, peaceful location. The view of Taos Mountain is incredible, and the casita is the most romantic and charming hideaway. It's beautifully decorated and maintained. Whoever put this place together has an eye for detail - including fresh flowers and real plants. It's gorgeous. The casita is located in the fenced grounds of the owners home but we had so much privacy, it was as if we had this stunning place to ourselves. There's coffee, tea and cream supplied by the lovely owner. We arrived late and tired and found a bottle of wine chilling for us. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique, colorful and peaceful getaway that's minutes to Taos town or the ski valley. Great for star gazing too - we spent a couple of late evenings in the hammock doing just that.

Staying at the Casita, you will have the real Taos experience. Taos has become a little clogged by the tourist crowds in high season, so it's a real delight to find a beautiful well-kept guesthouse on open land. I felt I was experiencing Taos as it was meant to be, just like those who first started to make the place popular in the 60's and 70's had discovered it. The guesthouse has all the views and privacy you could ask for and it's located within 5mins of everything you could want to do. The owners really make a point of giving you privacy, but are always available if you want any advice on things to do. Rates are very very reasonable for the area. I'd be hard pressed to recommend a better Taos experience. I was one of the first to stay there as they recently opened the guesthouse and I can't wait to return in other seasons. Highly recommend the experience.

Very nice! Clean and ready to accomodate. This quaint little Casita was exactly what we were looking for. We were grateful for a clean and ready to use rental. Located just outside of Taos, we couldn't have asked for anything better. The unique 'Casbah' design just added to the already existing charm. We woke up to a light dusting of snow....and the photgraphy that followed was enjoyable. Rates are reasonable, and the hostess, Gai, was wonderful! Do yourself a favor and book this wonderful Casita. A great 'base' for exploring Taos and the surrounding area!
