After reading all the rave reviews about Henry’s accommodations and hospitality, quite frankly, it seemed too good to be true. Believe me, it is all true!!! We had been traveling the last twelve hours enduring a day long barrage of infiltration of our personal belongings, space and psyche. Finally we are here; our luggage is here (after being loaded on the wrong plane), we have made it. However, our phones don’t work, we are exhausted, not happy, and quite frankly, had had enough. We walked out to the parking lot and looked at each other with that all too familiar, quizzical look on our faces, knowing we are processing the same exact thoughts at the same moment. Now what do we do!?!?! Low and behold, here comes a friendly face giving us a warm welcome. Henry!!! He has a rental car and an agent waiting for us in the parking lot. We buy a temporary driving license, load up our rental car and we are on our way to Secluded Sunsets. While Henry gives us the low down on the rental unit, I mention to him in passing that we have brought whole coffee beans, and ask him if he has a grinder. He indicates that there might be a grinder in one of the other units. He disappears after introducing us to all the toys, games, DVD’s, movies, fishing and snorkeling gear that are available to his guests. Within the hour he hands us a brand new coffee bean grinder that he just purchased at a local market. Now I’m totally impressed!!! Henry was an incredible host and his property was even more than we’d ever imagined. Our stay on Cayman Brac exceeded all of our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!!

Per my previous comment, I returned to Cayman Brac to get my sons certified based on the excellent, personalized service we received back in Oct from both Henry and the folks at the Brac Scuba Shack. Once again, everything was flawless & my kids were certified throughly and safely. Accommodations and amentities deserve the 5/5 ratings It would be hard to find a better place to base your dive or kick back, do nothing vacation out of than the Secluded Sunset. Highly recommend Cheers

My family and friends (9 adults) stayed at Secluded Sunsets for 2 weeks (12/29 – 01/12). We had the entire house, all 3 apartments. It’s actually hard to say enough good things about Henry and his guest house. The location is fantastic. It sits right on the ocean in a very quiet upscale oceanfront neighborhood. The house has MORE than everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Lots of towels, clean linens, kitchens have cookware, utensils, dishware, etc. Lots of small appliances – our apartment even had a crockpot. The refrigerators with the door ice/water are fantastic. No concerns about safe drinking water! You’ll find many items left by previous guests and supplied by Henry. (Nice especially if you’ve forgotten something.) Lots of spices, cooking oil, and some dry goods. Toilet paper, plastic bags/wrap, foil, shampoo, sunscreen, etc. The 2 bedroom apartment is huge and the 1 bedroom apartments are large with plenty of space. The upstairs 1 bedroom is an open area design with a huge deck and big double doors and lots of windows. The downstairs 1 bedroom is large with separate living, kitchen/dining and bedroom with ensuite bath. All the apartments have front and rear/side exits. Super clean, very well maintained and nicely furnished. The pool and yard area are fantastic. We used the pool as much as we did the house. It’s a great gathering area and the fresh water pool is a life saver after a long day of activities. Turn all the lights off at night while sitting around the pool. You won’t believe the stars. Awesome! We actually used the stone smoker and smoked a tuna we caught. It was excellent. The ocean front palapa with the hammocks was another favorite spot. Just swinging and listening to the waves and watching the sunsets. I know why the house is called Secluded Sunsets. The view of the sun setting every night is awesome. We followed all of Henry’s recommendations and we’re glad we did. We brought coolers with meat and on the flight in purchased duty free alcohol. Henry was also great at helping us with excursions and information. He really knows the island. Henry was a fantastic host and a lot of fun. Much thanks Henry for the absolute best accommodations on Cayman Brac.

Just returned from a 2 week stay on the Brac and the bottom line is that this is an excellent property operated by a great owner and you will not be disappointed. As two couples (2 Divers & 2 Non-Divers) we rented the two bedroom unit and were wowed by the location, the accommodations, the amenities and the first class service provided by Henry. Absolutely everything you need to have a great vacation is either provided or arranged for you – with the odd special extra thrown in for good measure :o) I arrived by myself for the first week and even though my flight was a few hours late, I was still greeted at the airport and provided a rental car right there in the parking lot. Then it was a quick, escorted run to the local grocery store to ensure I had food for Sunday since nothing opens until at least noon on that day. This kind of service never ended. As for the property – FIRST CLASS, inside and out. You are right on a secluded beach with excellent snorkeling and sunsets. The new pool is a welcome addition. Though we ate out a few times, you can’t beat the cooking and grilling facilities on the property. Everything you need to either make simple meals or feasts is provided. There are 3 grocery stores on the Island and you can buy whatever you need. Henry can coach you on how to get fresh fish from the locals (including fair price) if you so choose. As for the Diving or any other special extras, just follow Henry’s recommendations. You will not be disappointed. We went with a new Dive company operated by a fabulous South African couple and received personalized service that you will not get with larger operators. All in all, we had such a great time; I will now be coming back in Feb to get my sons certified. In closing, take time to read the other reviews. There are no exaggerations. If you want world class diving or just time to unwind and relax, then this is the place for you.

I cannot say enough good things about Henry and his beautiful property arrangement. My family and I rented all 3 of the apartments and we were blown away. The properties themselves are spectacularly gorgeous, not to mention the breath-taking ocean views included! Everything about our stay was OUTSTANDING! Henry was super easy-going, always available if you needed anything, and went above and beyond to take care of us. He took care of the rental car, met us at the airport with it, drove us back to the house, and provided a pizza dinner for us! He even took the time to stock our fridge with a few necessities from his OWN home since we arrived on Sunday evening and he was concerned because none of the stores were open! In addition, we found out Reef Divers was booked for boat dives during the majority of our stay and we were so sad but then Henry took us out to get outfitted for shore dives and even took us out on his own! My own family doesn't even host me this well! He went to every extreme to make sure we were having the best vacation there. He gave us all the info we needed beforehand (it is clear that he has put a lot of time and thought into everything for his guests) and there was a written copy of all the info in a binder at the house as well. The listing and photos are accurate to a point because on top of everything you get SO many more good things when you stay here. There are sooooooo many extras I can't even list them all! Snorkel gear, guidebooks, painting supplies, fully equipped kitchens, sports gear, 500+ DVD's, pool floats, grill, toiletries, binoculars, hammocks, bikes,...I could go on all day! The property was impeccably maintained; clean, well-stocked, well-groomed. You want for nothing when you stay with Henry! We enjoyed our time on Brac so much that we're already planning our return trip :) And of course, there is hands down nowhere else we would rather stay. THANKS HENRY!

We were met at the airport by the owner, nothing was too much trouble, What a dream to have your own bit of paradise for two weeks, on the beach. what a wonderful 2 weeks we had, upgraded to the two bedroom, there were so many extras provided. Hubby was able to snorkel off the beach and did a lot of diving. I was happy to sit with a book and a beverage or two. We went site seeing around the island which is like stepping back in time. Everyone is so friendly, If you are looking for a relaxing holiday/vacation then look no further, we could not suggest anywhere nicer. Thankyou Henry

Don't know where to start...every detail was looked after. Henry and his staff know how to make sure you and your fellow guests are looked after. Our two week stay was super - the guest homes were safe, modern, large, clean, maintained, fully appointed, air conditioned and comfortable. We rented the entire complex and our group of ten were very pleased. We had lots of room to spread out indoors and the outdoor ocean view seating area was excellent and well used. Loved the hammocks! Early morning coffee to watch the sunrise and early evening sunsets with a cocktail - what could be better. All very relaxing and yours to absorb. We did a lot of SHORE SCUBA DIVING in the area and enjoyed the local reefs, the fish and all the barrel sponges. A local diving instructor & store owner (super nice big man from South Africa) was first class in teaching the open water training required to complete certification for a couple of students in our group, and was very helpful in pointing out nearby locations to scuba dive. Shore diving is accessible and relatively easy. Driving a car, to get to the dive sites or other points of interest on the island is so easy; hardly any traffic with lots of signs to keep you going where you wish to go. Our teenagers enjoyed the use of the house kayaks and the adults enjoyed the views from the upper deck. We had no lack of things to do on this island, including a trip to the Skull cave, and did I mention, the weather was perfect. Lots of local stores for buying groceries, local fish is sometimes available at the dock and a good selection of beer, wine, etc can be found in the nearby store. We checked out a few of the local restaurants and local jerk chicken vendors, but always enjoyed preparing our own meals in the large kitchen back at Henry's place, as well as using the outdoor bar-be-que on the beach side of the house. One more thing, the "singing chefs" were extremely friendly and loads of fun to be sure. We had a fantastic evening of good food (best jerk chicken ever), lively conversation great music & singing too. A very good time with memories forever. "Henry can set this up and it is an excellent extra feature". So if you are wondering if this is a good choice, my answer is simple...yes. You will not be disappointed and we do recommend this property. Come to the Brac and enjoy yourself - we did.

This was our first trip to Cayman Brac. We rented the 1 bedroom top floor unit. The unit was nice, clean, modern, and well stocked - great deck and great view - we really couldn't have asked for anything more. There is a grill, smoker, laundry, kayaks, bikes and many other amenities available to guests - the big fresh water tub outside was great for rinsing the dive gear. We came to Cayman Brac to dive. This property is convenient to many dive sites with several accessible directly from the property. There is a sand beach area on the property, but like the entire island, once you are in the water it's "iron shore" and you'll need booties. The north side location means the water is normally very calm, making entry easy. If you are going to shore dive or hike and explore you'll want a rental car, which the owner arranged for us. We were met at the airport, given our rental car and personally guided to the property. We plan on returning to Cayman Brac and plan on staying here again on our next visit. While we rented just one of the 1 bedroom units, the property would be great for a family vacation too if you rented all of the units. Note: stores are not open on Sunday, so if you arrive on Saturday, make sure you get to the grocery store because you'll be out of luck on Sunday.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing week on Cayman Brac. We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property! It looks exactly (and even better in some cases) like the pictures, was very clean, tidy and has so many amenities! There were very nice reef shoes, snorkel gear, life jackets, kyaks, coolers for the beach, hammocks...and so much more. The owner greeted us at the airport and took time to show us around the property which was much appreciated. You can't ask for a better location! We highly recommend staying here, as you will not be disappointed. If we ever return to the Brac this would be our first choice for lodging. Can't say enough about how fantastic this place is!

We just returned from one week away and it was fantastic. I mean, really fantastic. The pictures and description in the listing are perfect and exactly what you get. The owner was was very accommodating and friendly but not over the top like other places I've stayed. Brac is such a great island and the rental unit sits on one of the best locations on the island. Snorkeling right off the beach is some of the best around the coast, and being on the west end you get great sunsets day after day. I could go on about how much I loved the island, but that would stray from the rental review. So in closing, if you are contemplating going our experience was 100% satisfied. We took the week at our own pace and didn't ever feel rushed or pressured to be doing things each day, and the house had everything we needed for our stay. Don't hesitate, this place is really all it seems to be and more.

My wife and I have just returned from a great 2 week stay in Brac. Our first week was shared with two couples that we'd never met. We all took Henry's advice to heart and got along amazingly. We did a lot of the standard tourist things such as cave exploring, hiking, scuba diving, etc. The layout of the house allows you to spend time with others or be alone, whatever you may need. Don't worry about meeting someone you don't like. In the unlikely event it happens, you can get away. This first week was a great, low-key, relaxing weekend. When our new friends left, we looked at each other and said, "what are we going to do now?". The first two days, we did some more scuba diving and spent time alone at Secluded Sunsets. Then we began to immerse ourselves with people who live and work on the island. We met new friends from England, Ireland, Honduras, Mexico and of course the USA! What a great group of people and we left with a true connection to the island and the people there. My one piece of advice to you when you book this trip: heed ALL of Henry's advice. I wish we'd done that. Henry will tell you how to bring food in to reduce your costs. With the great setup of cooking at the house, you must prepare to eat in a few nights while you're there. Cook on the grill or cooker and enjoy new friends, or renew old friendships. Our first week, we all ate in the 2 bedroom unit with our new friends 5 of the 6 nights. The second suggestion Henry has is limit your clothing. The next time we go, even if for two weeks, we'll take 2-3 bathing suits, 2-3 shorts, 2-3 nice shirts, and if you exercise, 2-3 outfits. With a washer and dryer and the fact you'll be in a bathing suit 75% of the time, don't take too much. You simply won't need it. My suggestion is that unless you want to stay at the house your entire visit (which is possible), I would suggest renting a car. We had one the first week but not the second so we had to rely on our new friends to get us. Fortunately they didn't mind at all! As for Henry, I have stayed in 15-20 places through VRBO over the years. Without a doubt, Henry's attention to detail and hospitality are second to none. Our next visit will be determined by availability at his place. He sets the bar high for guest experience and I don't foresee him being outdone. My one word of caution is this: Don't go and expect to want to leave or return in the near future. We have a rule to never vacation in the same place. We're breaking our rule!

This is a fantastic place to go for a vacation!!! We have been three times in the last year and each time it gets better. I can not say enough postive things about the property and the owner. We have enjoyed this property and the island so much that as of last week, we became new condo owners. Henry keeps the property immaculate and provides you with almost everything you need to feel like your at your own home. The views are breath taking and the diving is sensational. The peaceful, relaxed feeling you get from the island and property is amazing. The pictures on the web site are very accurate to the property. I highly recommend going for a long snorkeling or diving or fishing trip. You never know what you will see from all the different fish to a sting ray or turtle. Each dive is a new adventure!!! The restaurants are very easy to get to and the food is wonderful, make sure to stay for the local bands always a good party. The markets are located very close to the property which makes it very easy to do your shopping. I look forward to making Henry our new island neighbors see you soon.

We had a party of ten and the very nicely appointed house(s) were a perfect fit, adults in the 2 downstairs units and the kids had their own place upstairs. Beautiful surroundings quiet and peaceful. You could sit at the waters edge for hours. With the amount of "toys" available you could snorkle right out front, nice reefs are right there! Take out one of the kayak's or hop on a bike and head around the island exploring. Completely laid back. We arranged two days of diving over at Reef Divers, across the island, really fantastic, nice experienced folks and a world class spot for it. Another highlight was having the "Cooking Musicians" over one night. They made great jerk chicken and music out in the yard, we even invited some friendly locals by for our party, danced the night away. All in all it was one of the best vacations we've had and we will be back!!!!

What a great week, it ended too soon. We rented the complete property for our family of ten. It was perfect for us; it had everything we could ever need. Henry has been very generous with the equipment he keeps at the house for his guests. He was extremely helpful before we started our journey and continued to be during our stay. We had the cooking musicians out for an evening, we ate and partied well! Our kids, aged 14 to 21, had a fantastic time without electronics! Skin diving, scuba diving, caving, biking, smoosh ball (a new game developed by idle minds!). My son was even able to hook up with some locals and went rock climbing. Our Scuba experiences through Reef Divers were great. The entire staff was very capable, helpful and fun. The ambiance of this destination is relaxing…. Chill. We spent a lot of time watching the lightning at night, the hermit crabs moving into larger accommodations, and playing games with the family. By the end of the week we had locals dropping by to visit. The pictures and description are very accurate, even understated. The house was tastefully furnished, well stocked and very clean. A big thank you to Henry for providing all the ingredients for a fabulous time had by all!

Our stay in at this property on Cayman Brac was excellent. We were greeted at the airport by a friend of the owner who had already arranged for our rental car. We got in the car and were escorted to the house so within minutes of leaving the airport terminal, we were situated on our beachfront property with rental car in hand. We were given use of a local cell phone and although we had to buy minutes on the phone, this greatly reduced phone charges while on island. Also, the owners number was programmed in should we need him. I think we called for something twice during our stay and always received a prompt response to whatever we needed. The house was very well equipped with a variety of water related toys as well as an awesome collection of DVD's. A great side benefit of renting a house with a "local" owner is that you can get information on good restaurants, best dive boats, fishing guides, etc so you have an insude track. Having said that, the island is so laid back and the people so friendly, there wouldn't be issues anyway. Geat experience and I'm sure we'll return.

Our recent holiday in The Brac was an amazing experience. We had a wonderful time, so relaxing on such a beautiful peaceful island in the sun. Henry's attention to his guests and the effort put into making the accommodation comfortable and the setting beautiful can not be faulted. We really appreciated the use of equipment – including the UK adaptor, bootees, DVD’s, snorkels and fins all of which we made frequent use of. We can’t wait to go back to the Brac and would not hesitate to book our accommodation with Henry again. Highly recommended both as an Island to holiday in and a beautiful place to stay.

Our trip to Secluded Sunsets was everything described and more. It was undoubtedly the best trip we have taken since we were married 5 years ago. Henry is awesome! We have rented vacation homes before and have had good experiences. However, Henry's property and his planing plus preparation by far is better than any others. The pictures shown don't do it justice. We stayed in the lower 1 bedroom apartment and it was perfect for my husband and me. However, it could easily be shared with 4-6 people, if they were willing to share space in the living room. While at the guest house, we took advantage of all the equipment Henry had - snokeling gear, (including the water shoes which are not like the normal water shoes we had), books, bikes, and art paints were all things we enjoyed. I do recommend that you rent a car if you plan to explore the island, its just easier. But there is plenty to do around the guest house if you don't rent one. We definitely will be back and plan to bring more of our family with us. This is a definite 5 star place. It was VERY hard to come home!

Needless to say, we plan to make it 3 in a row next year. Henry continues to be the perfect host, always available and providing anything and everything needed to make one's stay perfect. The place gets constant improvements and additions...This year Henry added a great tiki hut with hammocks to escape the sun, a smoker/grill and scuba accessories We continue to highly recommend Henry's place for anyone looking for a relaxing island vacation, or home base for a Cayman dive adventure. This place is EVERYTHING Henry advertises it to be. We went with three other couples on this our 12th year of traveling together and all left saying we would be back! Everything is top notch and basically brand new. Space was great whether you took the main house or the upstairs that had a bedroom, seating area and full kitchen. Henry had the rental car waiting for us at the airport with the paperwork all ready to go (took less than 3 minutes) and then led us to the hotel for our first night. I could go on and on, Hank as I liked to call him delivered a FIVE star vacation for us. If your a snorkeler, your 45 feet from the water with all the gear you will need. Book his place and you won't be dissapointed!

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was beautiful!!! And Henry was very nice and hospitable!! Thanks Henry!! We have no regrets of staying here! Thinking of going back and adding more people to the vacation and take up the whole house! It is very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. Very nice to get away from the crazy city life only to lay in a hammock on a private beach everyday with no interuptions!!! Highly recommend and make sure you paint a "wood log" to leave as a thank to you Henry!! Sorry Henry, Eric tried. Not that artistic!!!! LOL!!!

Owner response: Jen and Eric only gave us a 4 out of 5 rating. They also say " Thinking of going back and adding more people to the vacation! " and " Highly recommend " I'm thinking perhaps Jen went to hit the number 5 key and hit the 4. either way - I read this as a wonderful review! thanks guys and we'll see ya next year with 'more people' henry

This is a beautiful property. It is minutes from town and yet secluded. The sunsets are to die for right off the beach. We dove a lot but enjoyed every moment we spent at the house. I vote Henry as the best VRBO landlord ever. He lined up the singing chefs which is a must do. He got groceries for us as we were arriving late Saturday and the grocery was closed Sunday. We were looking for a lime squeezer to make margaritas and he bought one and brought it over. He dropped off a latte machine which was perfect for our crew. The house if perfect for 2/3 families. At some point during your trip you have to walk from the house to the end of the runway and stand there when the 737 lands. Henry clued us in on this and the first time was so good we had to do it again. It feels like it is 10 feet over your head.

I can't say enough good stuff about Secluded Sunsets AND the owner. Hy husband, I and our 3 year old wanted to stay in a beach home this time going to the Brac so we booked Secluded Sunsets from the VRBO website. We had many questions and requests before we got there. I got a good feeling about the place because everytime I would email, the owner would email back within a day with a response to our questions. Most of the time he went way overboard for us to find information that we needed regarding things like daycare, diving, boat rides, etc.... I can say that if the owner tells you that he will take care of something you can trust that he will. He was awesome! He lives on the island so if you need anything he is right there. Otherwise he stays out of your hair. He met us at the airport, had our rental car with car seat ready for us and quickly got us settled in. One of the most awesome things about this place is that there is almost EVERYTHING that you could ever want. he has bikes, DVD's, hair dryer, some food, lots of spices, first-aid kit, suntan lotion, etc... i could go on and on. One of the coolest things is that he has a cell phone for each unit that he gives you. It comes in handy. Cayman brac is almost all iron shore and rocky beaches but this place is on the sandiest beach that I saw on the island. There are still rocks so be sure to bring your rock shoes. If you are divers then this is PLACE FOR YOU! The owner has scooters for you to use. At the house are rinse buckets and a outdoor shower. Its the best location on the island for divers. I can say that because we know the island very well. Snorkeling is easy from the house. Our friends, that we met while staying there, saw a 6 foot eagle ray while snorkling just off-shore of the house. The units are new and beautiful. We stayed in the one bedroom unit on the ground level. The owner let us look at the two bedroom unit before we left and all I can say is... WOW! We have already booked the 2-bdr again for later this year. We also booked the cooking musicians while we were there and they were great. Made some great memories. This rental is located close to restaurants, airport, many shore dive sites, and supermarkets. Things to not forget are polarized sunglasses, rock water shoes, any specialized foods or snacks that you must have and your C-card. Unless you plan to chill the whole trip you really do need a rental car. We cant wait to get back to our little paradise!

Where do we start? The house, location, amenities and hospitably are amazing. Henry went above and beyond to make the stay better than expected. My wife and I stayed for a week and Henry set us up with diving, rental car, and groceries (as mentioned in the profile). There is incredible shore diving and snorkeling (we even saw a large spotted eagle ray cruising around) right in front of the house. Our neighbors downstairs and my wife and I went together and hired the Cooking Musicians one night. Eric cooked some amazing jerk chicken and then jumped on the drums. Perry grabbed the guitar and kept the small group going for the night (we invited a couple folks we met on the island and the neighbors next door). Henry has thought of everything to provide a wonderful memorable experience; if he hasn’t, let him know and he will do what he can to get what you need.

This is a very much overdue message of gratitude and delight for our most gracious host, Henry, and for all his kindness during our two week stay in Cayman Brac this past February - 2011. We had such a wonderful time we wanted to make sure our comments were heartfelt and thus we've been slow to write. Plus, we want to come back, so we best leave no doubt as to just how much we enjoyed that visit. Our accommodations were exquisitely comfortable and so peaceful. Henry, thank you so much for the great experience. Your home is absolutely wonderful. It is like a home away from home. We fell in love with it. Excellent taste in décor, not a space wasted or forgotten - has everything we could possibly need. The house, views, beach cabana, and amenities CAUSE US TO give this property the best possible accolades. The water is beautiful and a joy to see everyday. We loved those turquoise waters and swam and snorkeled frequently. We enjoyed lounge time on the beach and drifting off to the sounds of the surf. We also had lovely beach walks--sometimes for a mile before meeting others--AND WE LOVED WATCHING THE PLANES LAND AT THE AIRPORT FROM THE BEACH! There were numerous highlights, but perhaps the most memorable - an anniversary / birthday BBQ at the house - catered by the Cooking Musician's who serenaded THE HAPPY COUPLE AND our mothers with Happy Birthday; the FRESHLY CAUGHT fish (Mahi Mahi and Wahoo) on the dock near the Triple D Car Rental Office -- that was quite something; and family BBQ nights, including bringing "home" jerk chicken from the local stand down the street. All the food was delicious and everyone on the Brac was so welcoming. Can't wait to visit again – truly our best vacation and we owe that all to our kind host with a heart of gold. Wishing you all the best, Henry, in everything you do! Sincerely, Serena & Party – Minnesota & Chicago –

Great place for adults to relax and take it easy. Henry has this place fully stocked. Don't bother packing anything except a swimsuit and flip flops. If you bring more than a carry on you've packed too much. Super comfortable bed and furniture in the living room. The deck has a view that could be a postcard...plan to spend a lot of time relaxing in the sun or use the umbrella and nap in the shade. Fridge was stocked with the essentials too!

We have had the privilege over the last couple of decades of experiencing many vacation rentals by owners all over the world, as well as “all inclusives”. As for renting a property rather than an all inclusive, we have always preferred the freedom of a cottage, villa, or condo rental. It allows us the freedom of waking up when we want to, eat when we want to, and travel as we wish. We stayed at Henry’s property in early January of 2011 (second floor accommodations) and were extremely pleased. By far, it is the best equipped rental property that we have stayed at (amongst many destinations: Spain, Curacao, Bonaire, Barbados, Kauai, Grand Cayman, Jost Van Dyke) and from all aspects, it was by far the home away from home. Off the beaten path with all the conveniences and comforts of home; this is the place. From the great library of DVD’s, books, gear, all the apartment amenities, sound system, t.v., efficient fridge (and lovely icemaking convenience)...from the sunsets, the sunrises, the star gazing..... we cannot say enough. The property is secluded and discreet. The waterfront is very private. Our vacation was a true vacation. Cayman Brac is a snorkeler’s & diver’s paradise. Ideally you should rent a car, and the price is right as far as that is concerned compared to any other island rental (auto or condo). The island truly accommodates open water divers like no other island and the clarity of water is hard to beat. We have been very fortunate to see all kinds of sea-life; turtles, stingrays, barracuda, and every possible tropical fish you can imagine – it’s here!!! Their dive operators are the classiest and well priced. They may have few restaurants; however, what they do have provides excellent fare and decent prices. Our favourite was the Brac Reef Resort, for their restaurants (which cater to every taste; even the “pickiest”) as well as their dive operation. It is an island that welcomes you from the moment you step off the plane until the moment you leave. The local people truly appreciate their visitors and they are very friendly. There are very few places that you can step out your apartment onto the beach for the best snorkelling the island (or even the world) has to offer: a fan coral forest at your footsteps with so many species right there for even the most timid of snorkelers. Finally, we have to say that our host has been exceptional. He does everything possible to make your stay the best!!!

Sheer Perfection! I couldn't find anything wrong with this place if I tried. Brac is quiet and beautiful and peaceful and very, very, very secure. The local people are super friendly too, everybody waves when you are out driving/walking/riding bikes. The house is amazing and steps from the lapping waves of the crystal clear Caribbean. It's spotless and furnished comfortably with everything you might need. I like to cook and my husband and son made fun of me when I got excited that there was a garlic press. Henry the owner is really more like a host, we felt like old friends by the end of our stay. He's helpful without being intrusive and always improving the property. He put in an outdoor shower and a rack to hang dive gear on while we were there and he told me he's starting a gazebo by the water. As I said Brac is wonderful, if the weather isn't absolutely ideal for playing in the water there are wonderful trails and caves to go explore. The other reviews are also right on the money. This place is soooo amazing I wish I could give it more stars =) Thanks Henry, hope to see you soon. Once you go Brac you'll never go back ;)

Our family of 10, ages six months to 50, visited this house for 10 wonderful, sun filled days just after Christmas 2010. Henry was a magnificent host. It’s VERY helpful having the owner resident on the island. He met us at the airport when we arrived, took us to the house, showed us everything we needed to know, and checked in on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. He was a great resource regarding where to go, what to see, etc. He provides a phone with his number pre-programmed so we could reach him anytime. We were traveling with a 6 month old and he even acquired a crib for us! He’s always asking for suggestions on how to improve the quality of your stay. Groceries are quite expensive on Brac. Availability can be somewhat sporadic. Henry suggested a way that we could bring much of the food with us. That saved us a TON of money. It worked out very well. The beach is just behind as the pictures suggest. It’s a sandy/coral/limestone mixture that’s somewhat rocky. Within 200 yards of the house is some of the best snorkeling and diving you’ll ever find. Don’t expect to walk directly into the water without wearing water shoes, but it’s great for sunbathing, snorkeling, etc. If you want white sand beaches, there are two of them on the South side; both very nice and quiet but you’ll need a car or a healthy bike ride to get to them. There’s a nice stretch of walkable sandy beach from the house about a half-mile to the West. To the East, it’s rocky but passable. A quality pair of water shoes is a must. We rented all three units. These photos are good, but don't give the house it's proper due. The entire house FAR exceeded our expectations and was immaculate upon arrival. We could tell Henry had spent a lot of time considering his guest's needs. Everything you need is here. The kitchens are fully stocked; even some hard-to-get items were already on hand. He's got bicycles, snorkels, masks, and extra water shoes. Everything you need is close, but a car is recommend. If the wind is strong on the North Side, ride 5 minutes to the South Side and it’ll be calm. It’s also worth a visit the East End bluff, all of the caves, and South Side beaches. As you might expect, Henry can hook you up with a good deal on a car. Regarding where to eat, we found good food at Brac Reef. Henry provides a comprehensive guide that will explain everything you need to know. We highly recommend this island and this house!

This was my family's first Caribbean vacation and we wanted to make it only family. We wanted a place where we could all just get back together after a long and hectic 2010. It turned out to be the perfect place. Henry was great and so was his home. Right on the beach and down a very peaceful and quiet road. We were able to go snorkeling on most of the days as the weather was near perfect - it was windy on days but a quick drive to the other side of the island and the wind was gone. The food could be better to say the least. Without my wife's ability to make great food out of limited selection I think we may have starved. Henry's home luckily was complete with everything we needed. Henry also let us use his bikes, snorkel gear and his battery powered motors which allowed my youngest to keep up with all of us in the water which is incredible and even in late December was not too cold - say 75 or so. Henry keeps the place clean - no bugs! We had plenty of bugs at a house we stayed at in Hawaii which was creepy for the family. The caves around the Island were a great added bonus. I wish the hurricanes would leave this island alone as the people are great too - very friendly - never needed to lock a door or worry about anything. Thanks Henry so much - you made this a great and memorable family trip for us. So if you want peace, want to get away from Cities and Traffic and be with the one or ones you love, by yourselves, this is the place!

Well let me start by saying that we could not have picked a better place to stay, or a better host for that matter!!!!! The house has everything you could possibly need and then some. From the beautiful furnishings to the beautiful sunsets! You just can't go wrong. Henry's guide to The Brac is awesome as well. Whenever we needed to find a store or restaurant we just picked up the guide and there they were all listed and rated for us! The underwater Seadoos were a big hit with the kids and the dads :) and it was nice to have the snorkeling gear as well. We were really surprised to have dinner ready for us when we got there! (It was delicious by the way Henry). We immediately felt at home and can NOT wait to go back!!!!! Thanks Henry for helping to make our vacation the best vacation we have ever been on! This was the best vacation me and my family have ever taken! We've been to places such as Costa Rica, Hawaii, Florida Keys and none of them compared! The water was gorgeous crystal clear and the house was terrific and had everything we could have ever possibly wanted. My husband enjoyed the hammocks, my four year old had tons of stuff to do just out hanging out at the house and the the rest of us enjoyed diving and snorkeling (best in the world), right in the backyard only a few feet away from the home. We've decided to make this our yearly vacation spot nothing could beat this! We absolutely LOVED it - Thanks the Vick's and Abbott's

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The view from the deck was fabulous as well as the stars at night. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The property was clean and maintained. The unit had all appliances we needed. The owner met us at the airport and showed us our way and made sure we had everything we needed. We toured the island extensively and found everyone to be very friendly. We bought a few groceries but ate out several times. The service in the restaurants was good and the food was awesome. I enjoy diving but due to time restraints didn't get as much in as I would have liked. What I did see was good. A car is definitely needed. We will return and will definitely recommend this property to others. We stayed on the upper floor and due to the stairs, it may not be suitable for those with disabilities, but the lower floor would accomodate this.

We stayed in the upper one-bedroom unit and it was amazing. Beyond the amazing views, the beautiful beach, and the fabulous deck (perfect for watching the sunset with a tropical drink in hand), the apartment is clean, new, and VERY comfortable. The location is perfect. It was quiet, private, there were dive sites right off the beach, and the grocery store, restaurants, etc. were not too far away. We had not been to the island before and were very happy with our choice. The unit comes with so many extras that were greatly appreciated; there was a place to rinse our dive gear, laundry, a large collection of DVD's, shampoo, laundry soap, beach towels, and other basics. We really enjoyed our vacation and I think a large part of it was due to the accommodations. We intend to go back and will stay at the same place, and we highly recommend it.

This was our 5th trip to the Brac and it just seems to get better everytime. And everytime it seems harder to leave this small piece of Paradise. Tropical Tranquil Paradice describes this place to a tee. We have stayed in several places on the Brac on different parts of the island and have to say that this is our absolute favorite place. Everything you would want from a vacation rental is here. Located just yards from the turquoise waters of the carribean, and being on the north west side, seems to have the advantage of having calm crystal clear water most of the time. The sunsets are just .... well you have to see them to appreciate it. We scuba dove and snorkeled right off the sandy beach into some of the best reefs on the island. Also all the amenities are close by, which is definitely an added bonus. The 2 bedroom apartment is all newly renovated and is a perfect place for 2 couples or a small family with kids. Its very spacious and has a great fully equipped kitchen with an awsome gas stove (probably my favorite feature as I love to cook). But I think the best part of our whole vacation was the property owner Henry who made our stay more than we could have ever dreamed of. From the stocked fridge with beer, champagne, rum, cokes, eggs, bacon, bread and much more to get you started off without having to worry about a grocery run to organizing a rental car, diving and fishing trips on his boat and always asking if there was anything we needed. A more perfect Host you could not wish for better. We will definitely stay there on our next trip and would reccommend to anyone thinking of going to the Brac not to pass up staying here and meeting Henry. You will not regret it.

I vacationed with my family September 2010 at Sunset Cottage. The cottage was exceptionally well stocked with everything you would need from beach supplies to a well equipted kitchen. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, and very clean and modern. You are right on the beach which is wonderful for exploring, We enjoyed the butterflies which flew from one tree to another each morning. From napping in the hammock or drinking cold drinks under the palm trees it was a new experience for me to come home from a vacation so rested and relaxed. Henry, who owns the cottage, will assist you with anything you need and was a wonderful host.

Everything Henry(the owner) states in his description of his property is true and them some! We had an absolutely wonderful time and Henry was very accommodating. When we got in the first night, we were tired and hungry and Henry had food in the fridge for us! He printed out a "things to in Cayman Brac" list and pointed out all the great snorkeling sites, which by the way were right outside our door! The sunsets are amazing- you can just sit out on the deck, or in one of the hammocks that fits two perfectly and watch the sun disappear into the water... Thank you Henry, we will be back!

We wanted a place with a pool but gave this place a try anyway, price was great and the description and pictures sounded and looked nice. This was also our first adventure using vrbo. We have done all inclusive packages in the past just to make it easy. What did we think? WOW - we will never do all inclusive ever again. Can't say how all vrbo places are like but this place is AWESOME. We had privacy and were not one of the herd as you are in an all inclusive or at a resort. This place is private! We had a beach we never shared with anyone. We ate breakfast outside in the patio area just below the raised deck every morning listening to gentle waves and being shaded at the same time. The pool we wanted was the Caribbean - it was like we had it all to ourselves the closest visitors were 150 yards away - the dive boats which would tie up to the mooring balls so their customers could dive. Winds were gentle and waves were small so entering the water all week was a breeze. All except for one day winds came from the south and the north side where we were was calm. On that one day - henry told us where to go on the other side where it would be calm. It was a four minute drive a benefit of being on an island only a mile wide. There was a library of 500 excellent movies (tons of old great films and new releases) and we never watched one. This is an island which hasn't been discovered by the masses (yet). I was amazed at how many people I meet (from all over the world) which keep coming back to this little Caribbean island. Some have been coming here for twenty years - at first I didn't get it but by the end of the week it made perfect sense. You couldn't find a better place - the privacy, the people, the weather, and the prices - and this guest house is a perfect place to enjoy it. The units (which are always unlocked - apparently no crime here), are clean and spacious inside and decorated very nicely - (which must have been added since the pictures were taken), The Property has two hammocks - one mounted between two coconut trees just above the beach and one is shaded in the patio area under the raised deck. I fell asleep one evening in the hammock and was awakened by the sun in the morning - yep the wine bottle was empty. We can't say enough about this place and WE WILL be back MANY TIMES. The snorkeling was also amazing and henry, "thank you again" for taking us out on your boat that one day - having lunch in little cayman (five miles away) was great!

My husband and I came to the Brac on our honeymoon trip. We were looking for something relaxing and fun. The property was even better than the photos and Henry was an incredible host! The 1 bedroom apartment was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. We had anything we could possibly want or need. The beach on the property is beautiful and the snorkeling/scuba within walking distance was amazing! We truly felt like we lived on the island, not just tourists. The people were all so helpful and friendly. We really didn't want to leave and will definitely be back. Mick and Barb at Reef Divers were awesome! I honestly can't even think of anything negative to say about this island or the property. Henry definitely sets the bar high for our next vacation expectations. He went above and beyond in being a host and we look forward to our next visit ... and our next visit.... and our next visit!!

We've stayed in a number of places on the Island, North, South, East and West. But this has been by far our favorite place. The sunsets are spectacular, especially as it sets over the island of Little Cayman. The ocean seems to be much calmer on the North side and so the snorkling was always fantastic, either right off the beach or at the numorous inlets just up from the house. One spot was actually cut into the iron shore complete with ladder, perfect for a shore dive to the Russian Frigate a couple hundred yards offshore. It's always a bit scary for us to rent a new place we've never stayed at before, but we could not have chosen a more perfect place for our vacation. Everything from the accomodation which was newly renovated with all modern furnishings, appliances and entertainment system even a cell phone for us to use, to the stocked refrigerator with champagne, beer, rum, eggs, bacon and just about everything you would need to get you started without having to make a trip to the Grocery store. I have to say the ice cold Heineken was an absolute treat after a long days travel especially sitting on the beach whatching the last of the sunset fall below the horizon. I think one of the things that made our time so complete was Henry the owner but really I would consider him more a Host than an owner. Nothing seemed too much for him to make sure we had the best vacation ever. He arranged our rental car which they droppped off to us the next day(he let us use his own vehicle the first day as we arrived on a late flight). He was always making sure if we needed anything. It's not very often you find someone so helpfull and friendly. We became friends very quickly. Which is one of the things we love about The Brac everyone is super friendly. Also it was great to have all the conveniences so close by, Grocery stores, resuarants, bars all within a very short drive. We are already planning our next trip to The Brac this fall and will be staying here again, there are so many more great things to say about 'Secluded Sunset' and Henry and The Brac but will save them for the next time.

My husband and I stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment on our recent trip to the Brac which was our second trip. Henry the owner but actually a host was extremely helpful in answering any questions we had. He made the vacation stress free and relaxing. The apartment (truly an apartment as the 1 bedroom is huge) is perfect for a couple. There is everything listed in the description and the pictures are exactly what you'll find upon arrival. The property is very well maintained and clean. We spent our fair share of time on the deck and down by the water enjoying the beautiful sunsets after a long day of shore diving. There are many shore dives or even snorkeling spots right off the beach. Rest assure you find it very difficult to pack your bags and leave as I could've stayed forever. We would highly recommend and actually have recommended this place to our friends and family. We hope that they'll join us on our next visit.
