We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Oahu in large part due to this home! Its located so conveniently to everything! The backyard opens to what we affectionately called the world's biggest wading pool. It was perfect to let the kids play in the water and practice their paddle boarding skills. (we had 3 children ages 3, 6 and 11) all had a great time. We also got to enjoy seeing crabs, fish, sea cucumbers, and even moiree eels! And the kids definitely didn't mind the pair of ducks that came up to the back door daily either! Thank you to Elizabeth for helping to provide such an amazing place to call home while we were in paradise! We can't wait to come back next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were quite disappointed...... The sleeping conditions were a little odd, no privacy. The 'Master Bedroom' included 2 single beds & a Futon? The connecting bathroom (which can also be accessed via living room) had a curtain for a door. Another 'Bedroom' has three doors, which one has a window to the living room. It was not very clean. There was a major Ant (among other crawly bugs) infestation, I kept telling my family to pretend we were camping. There is a window without a curtain in the little house's shower, which anyone could walk by & have a look. It is on a main highway so sleeping was impossible - sooooo noisy!! There was not any decent outside furniture to sit and relax in the Hawaiian sun, 2 straight back metal chairs, 3 dirty plastic lounges & an old slivery wood picnic table. Being our first time to Hawaii (or any where tropical), it was nothing like we had imagined it would be. I will not go back. I am now a firm believer in "you get what you pay for"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a wonderful time at this property. The accommodations were perfect for our family. The 5 boys (ages 2-11) loved playing football every morning in the yard and exploring the shallow oceanfront. The house had a very "homey" cottage feel. It wasn't super fancy, but was very comfortable and clean. I loved having the convenience of a washer and dryer on the property. The house was also conveniently located near many Oahu attractions. I would highly recommend this property to families with children. We will definitely stay here again in the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We put up my husband's family here when we were getting married and it was perfect for them. The cottage was ideal for family coming with a kid and baby, as they could retire to their quarters without disturbing everyone else. They were also arriving later in the week and we were allowed to pay for just the time they stayed, which was very convenient. Everyone raved about the house afterward. Overall it was the right choice. They were there for 2 weekends and they overheard 3 separate weddings going on in the yard of the house next door. For one of them they were actually out in the ocean and were yelled at by a wedding photographer to get out of his shot. Not anyone's fault, just something to be aware of if you're there for a weekend in June.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Aloha Jake, Thank you for allowing our family to stay in your rental. We had a great time in Oahu. We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Great location with easy access to all the places that we wanted to see. We had 2 rental cars & there was plenty of parking for them both. My family came from Denver, Idaho,Portland and Sacramento for my daughters graduation from University of Hawaii @ Manoa. My daughter wanted a place that would accommodate all of us so we could celebrate her acheivement together. This beach house really fit the bill! We BBQ and had relaxing mornings watching the sunrise--even did a little fishing wading out from the back of the house. My only disappointment was that the house was much closer to the highway then I expected. We could here the noise from the highway at night when we went to bed. Saturday and Sunday it was much less --but a little noisy non the less. If you rent this home--and I recommend it--just be aware of that. This is a great, very affordable home in a location that is close to everything.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family had the oppurtunity to spend 3 nights at this oceanfront home, and we loved it. Waking up to the smell of the ocean. the calming breeze, was magical. Eating breakfast on the picnic table inches from the water was wonderful. While not quite a secluded hideaway, it gave my family access to the main road for a safe morning walk (parents) or run (everyone else except me - I went fishing). The best part was being able to walk a few hundred yards into the ocean that was only waste deep and go fishing. I can't wait for our yearly trip and hope the house will be available again.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This house has a very special feeling characteristic of old Hawaii. The property is very private. Our stay was very relaxing due the soft trade winds and soothing ocean water along with the open ambience of the house. The water is great for small children and leisurely raft floating. Everything was very clean and well maintained and the owner was very responsive and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed hanging out in the yard and BBQing while gazing at the palm trees over the water. The location is super convenient to town and major attractions; shopping and restaurants are a short distance from the house. The house easily accommodates large groups in style. Our family can't wait to go back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About: My wife and I have been married for 10 years and have a 4 year old daughter. As you will see in the video of our vacation rental, we love to spend family time in the water and on the beach near the house. It is very family friendly! Great fishing, diving, kayaking and surfing for the grown ups, safe/shallow waters for kids and a sandy beach for tanning (4 houses down).
Why Aina Haina:
Honolulu Oceanfront is a prized possession and typically kept in the family for generations. If families decide to sell during economic good times, the price is seldom realistic. So during the current economic down turn, we saw our opportunity at a reasonable price and bought.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The Aloha spirit and the Hawaiian lifestyle are two of the greatest things found no where else in the world. Aloha is a spirit of friendship and love shared by the residents of Hawaii. It is a genuine affection towards one another and is what makes Hawaii a true melting pot where all nationalities coexist peacefully. The Hawaiian lifestyle is one that revolves around the Pacific ocean, which is right out the back door from this house. Whether you are surfing, fishing, diving, or going for a swim, getting into the ocean on a daily basis is what keeps the Hawaiian people young.
