Crescent Beach house description
This home is in the second row of houses, not oceanfront. We have a private pathway from the corner of our property, across the dunes, to a clean and wide beach that is rarely crowded.
The house is built with the main living area on the third floor to maximize the views. Two bedrooms are on the second floor, and two on the first floor. There are two full bathrooms (one without a tub, but a walk-in shower) and two half baths. There is a small deck on the ground level, one outside the master bath, and two on the top level.
Fort Matanzas National Monument is within walking distance.

THIS HOUSE HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE SUNRISE AND SUNSETS!! We started our day (with our coffee in hand) on the top floor, watching the sunrise. Then we would cook a big breakfast and enjoy it together as a family and went to the beach. Getting to the beach was fun, there's a secret path that you must follow...you feel like your going through the jungle. Once at the beach we relaxed and soaked up the sun. We had perfect weather!! Sunny with a cooling wind. The beach is HUGE! The sand is white and soft. When we got back, my husband and Father-in-law would fire up the grill. We grilled out twice a day. The owner just bought a brand new grill!! My family and I would play cornhole and bocceball in the yard. A big box turtle joined on 2 occasions! We enjoyed watching the sunset in the hammock. So beautiful! I wish I could post pictures. The beds were comfortable and the house was extremely clean. The carpets had just been professionally cleaned. I know this because all of the furniture was on styrofoam pieces(plus you could tell by looking at it). We were very thankful for this because we have a 16 month old daughter. Hellen, the owner, is very sweet and I feel she catered to our families needs. When I told her we have a toddling baby she said, "I will make sure the floors are very clean for her" and they were. This is a family's private home and I appreciate them willing to open the doors to us. We truly had a wonderful time! In summary, House is great! Views were beautiful! Beach is perfect! Getting our family together (3 generations) is simply priceless! Thank you Hellen

When we got to the house we walked in the door and immediately seen giant roaches crawling on the walls and cabinets and also dead ants on the carpet. Which led us to believe that the carpet had not been vacuumed prior. As the week went on we found 3 spiders in the house that were literally the size of tarantulas. We left our beach chairs outside of the house and hauled them back and forth to the beach every day. When we got the beach and unloaded our chairs those huge roaches would come crawling out every time!! We were so afraid that we were going to take them home with us. Ewww. The bathrooms were dirty and one of the beds had sand it in it (which means the sheets werent changed). I also brought my small dog whom is very well potty trained and stayes in a crate when there is no one home. But she went to the beach with us every day anyway so we all really weren't home much. We also thought it was odd that the home owner had already cashed the deposit check that we mailed her before we even got there. with our past vacation experiences the deposit check is held until the time of departure and then the home owner will decide whether to void the check or cash it depending on the condition that the house is left in. I will also add that we have always gotten our deposit back. We also paid a cleaning fee and a pet deposit... Well about two weeks after we got back home from our vacation the home owner called and said that the house smelt like pee and she was gonna have to keep all of the deposit to get the carpets cleaned and that it may cost more than the deposit so we may have to pay out of pocket and she would call and let us know how much we owe after she gets them cleaned. There were only 2 bedrooms out of 4 with carpet and the small living room had carpet, the rest of the house was tile,so we knew it shouldn't take the entire deposit. Needless to say we never heard back from the home owner, and we never saw a receipt for proof of the carpet cleaning.. We also never got our deposit back. I would assume that she does this to everyone which is why she cashed the check so soon in the first place(because she knew she was keeping it). This lady made some money!! All of this is a true.. There is no exaduration to this story

Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: We built this house for ourselves when we lived in Gainesville in the late 1980s. When Hellen could no longer negotiate the stairs, we purchased a ranch home nearby. Then, we used it as gathering place for our children and their friends, family reunions, and retreats. About 1992 we began renting it by the week.
