As a travel writer, I have been visiting Wintergreen for 18 years. Of all the places I have written about, Wintergreen is the only one special enough for me to return to again and again. After years of visiting, we finally purchased a place of our own: a breath-taking mountaintop condo overlooking the Rockfish Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains, by far the most beautiful condo I had ever seen.
When you rent our condo, you will be receiving tips from a professional travel writer: places to go, things to do that most weekend visitors never hear about. Our guests have told us that these tips have made their stay at our condo both memorable and unique. Our condo offers beauty, romance, comfort and exclusive travel tips. If you are looking for the best value on the mountain, you have come to the right place.
Our condo is in one of the resort's newest buildings, which also offer the best views: spectacular sunrises, mist rising from the valley in the morning, clouds drifting across the sky in the afternoon, and clear views of the ski slopes. Very few condos or houses at Wintergreen have the panoramic views that make our condo so special: most are in wooded settings, or face the ski slopes, with very limited vistas. (Wintergreen Resort charges an extra $30 a night for the few condos that have our view.)
The condo is warm, comfortable and luxurious. The living room features a suede couch, two matching swiveling recliners for watching the sunrise, a small desk for journal writing, and a wet bar. A gorgeous piece of driftwood hangs over the wood-burning fireplace. There is also a TV with cable and HBO, a VCR/DVD player, as well as interesting books and unique board games. We also offer free DSL and wireless internet service, as well as free local phone calls.
This non-smoking, no-pets condo sleeps four: the master bedroom features a romantic Queen-size bed, a television, an intimate deck with two comfortable chairs for viewing the evening sky, and a master bathroom with double sinks and a two-person soaking tub. (Very very few condos at Wintergreen offer these luxurious tubs, ideal for apres ski soaks.) The second bedroom, painted a cheery yellow, has two twin beds with cherry wood headboards and its own bathroom. There is also a small writing desk.
The condo is just a few steps from the Devil's Knob Golf Course and tennis courts, as well as the Devil's Knob Grill. It is down the road from the Wintergarden Spa and the nature center, while skiing, childcare, hiking, and other amenities are but a few minutes away.
One last bonus that makes our condo special: you get fantastic views while climbing only a handful of steps. Many condos at Wintergreen require long walks on sometimes-icy boardwalks, and there are also steep exterior staircases. Once inside, you may find that you have rented a second or third-floor walk-up. Our building is a few short steps from the parking lot, with no steps to the front door, and inside it's only a few steps up to our condo. Since our building is built into a slope, we actually have a third-floor view of the valley and mountains from the back: it's the best of both worlds.
Many of our guests tell us that our condo is more comfortable than their own homes, and we have many repeat visitors. You can read some of their comments below.

We had a great time at the condo during Christmas week. The condo is large, very comfortable and well furnished. Has a large kitchen (you can really cook) and is well laid out. The amazing views of the mountains and the valley (imagine you can see about 50 miles out) along with the sunrise for early birds, and the many windows make it an unforgettable experience. Our daughters enjoyed all the board games. The shuttle is very convenient to get to the slopes (very friendly service, high frequency). The location (a bit off the ski resort, while access is very easy by car or shuttle) is quite ideal, as the snow making machines run all night on the ski slopes and are extremely noisy, but you can't hear them from the condo; you don't want to be right in the village during these nights. Very quiet and clean, and Daphne's guidance and recommendations are right on; we will go back!

We stayed in the condo for a weekend in January. It was perfect-everything we expected from the description given and more. It truly felt like home and had all the amenities we needed. My husband and I both agreed that it was the perfect place to stay and look forward to returning with our two children very soon. The unit was exceptionally clean and the owners went above and beyond to give us information about the resort.

My husband and I spent two glorious days in your condo in July. We found it to be extremely spacious, clean, and comfortable. The view from the large balcony is spectacular! The unit is well equipped and has all the necessary amenities. It is convenient to the golf course and tennis courts, as well as hiking trails. The owners couldn't have been more helpful in providing all the information about the condo as well as the resort! We will definitely stay in this condo again when we return to Wintergreen!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this home in the beginning of January (09). Everything was as described and you couldn't ask for a better view or cozier feel. We loved lighting the fireplace and playing the games provided with our sons. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean and well maintained. We'd love to come back when the trees are in bloom. Please check out the hikes, you can get a map at the nature center or main check in area at the ski resort.

My family and I had the absolute joy of visiting Wintergreen for the first time last week and staying in the White's fantastic condo. The condo was just perfect... and I don't think the photos or description do it justice. The view is absolutely amazing and worth a visit all by itself. The location is ideal and close to everything... the Devil's Knob golf course and terrific restaurant, a new little coffee/snack shop, and the wonderful Chestnut Springs owner's pool (which we much preferred over the Wintergreen Pool... which is less shady, more crowded - and costs $15 to visit). We found the condo to be extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. The decor is understated and charming and really adds to the tranquil environment. The layout of the condo is also ideal - pen and airy common areas with bedrooms far enough away to allow for privacy and quiet (...which was important to us with an 8 month old occupying one bedroom!). We also loved the huge soaking tub! We have already recommended this condo to our friends and can't wait to come back!

This condo has magnificent views of the Blue Ridge and is nicely furnished, including some amenities (soap and shampoo) missing from other rental places at Wintergreen. It was just what I was seeking for a relaxing get-away.

We had a wonderful vacation last week. Your condo is beautiful and that view just takes your breath away. It was a quiet, restful, peaceful retreat - we read, had massages, went swimming and truly got away from the world for 5 days. We can't wait to come back again. We've stayed at other condos at Wintergreen and trust me, yours beats them all! Your helpful instructions and guidance were most appreciated. Thanks fo a wonderful stay...we'll be back!

We had a beautiful and relaxing weekend in this terrific spot. The view is spectacular. We awoke early one morning just to sit and watch the sun come up across the Rockfish Valley. The two comfortable reading chairs by the window make a perfect spot for a lazy day.
