This was our second time renting this property and everyone is looking forward to next time already. We had 17 adults and there was always plenty of room. The living room is able to accomidate a large group to socalize and enjoy the fire and beautiful views of the lake. The kitchen has more than enough room for even a large group to get food and pass eachother. We even were able to fit in enough people in the den to watch the SuperBowl! This is an excellent property for any group. We were mostly snowmobilers and had a wonderfull time, yet again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was our second year to have our family Christmas celebration at Echo Lake Lodge. We had nineteen family members for a long weekend. We couldn't wait to come back, as we had a perfect time last year. The lodge, once again, was the perfect place for our family to get together. The snow was beautiful, and we had a wonderful time by the bonfire and playing in the snow. We did our traditional Christmas things, and there was room for all. Thanks again for having us!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The land is amazing with trails throughout and nice mixture of woods, swamp and openings. The lake is beautiful to look at all weekend with some great reflections. Wildlife was great and we had a specail time. This was a father son weekend that will never be forgotten. Thanks Marty for being so flexible and letting us enjoy some of what your family has for so many years.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dick & Deb We just got married outside on this beautiful piece of property on Oct.6, 2012 the colors were unbelievable as it reflected on our private 20 acre lake. We had our Kids families and grand kids with us during this special time, everyone had lots to do on this 260 + acre property. It was almost impossible to stop the kids from fishing long enough to see Deb and I get married. EVERYONE had lots of room in the 7 bedroom house that overlooked the lake and fall color. 18 people in one house and lots of room for more. a great place to get married and Oct. is the best color you would hope to see anywhere in Michigan. If you’re looking for a special place in time, this is it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We rented the Echo Lake Lodge for our grandparents' 60th anniversary celebration. We had an amazing time! We had a blend of 8 different families and couples and everyone was so comfortable! From the scenic views of the lake, spacious kitchen and room accommodations... everyone was thrilled. We had great laughs around the bonfire pit, fun rides in the pontoon, friendly games of shuffleboard & bocci ball... and even a few brave swimmers for mid September! It was so nice to be able to have the whole family all together to celebrate the 2 people that started it all. We got rave reviews from all parties involved and everyone wants to make it an annual celebration. The Echo Lake Lodge will always be present in all of our minds for all the great memories it created! We do hope to make this an annual tradition for the Smith family! Thank you for everything!Owner response: This was a wonderful review and we appreciate it. Just a note: although the name is the same, this "Smith" family is not related to us; it's hard to imagine that there are really more than one "Smith".

Wonderful property for fall colors in Michigan! Took the whole family for a surprise birthday party for my husband end of September. Our group included 6 kids under the age of 5 and several adults in their 60s. The whole family had a great time with lots of things to do. Romantic rowboat rides around the lake with the colors in full glory. Hikes in the woods with the kids. Shuffle board in the back. Playscape for kids to romp on. Warm campfires. Indoor accomodations were great as well. Fully stocked kitchen. Warm cozy rooms and enough hot showers for all! Highly recommend. Would love to go back.Did you find this review helpful? Thank you Marty and Gaye for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us. The lodge was clean and well equipped (the kitchen is a dream). Although the weather did not always cooperate, there was plenty to do for young and old. From boating and bocce ball to hiking and bonfires. Close to Mackinaw Island and Petoskey for some fun day trips. This is a five star accommodation. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.Did you find this review helpful? Our family reunion week was perfect in this beautiful home. There was plenty for everyone to do, and all 15 of us (ages 1-69) had a wonderful time. The lake and watercraft were used by all of us, and the kids enjoyed the sand and the swing set. The shuffleboard and bocce ball courts were fun for all. The home is perfect for a large group, and it was nice to have a high chair and pack and play provided. The kitched was very well equiped, and it lacked nothing. The bedrooms were very comfortable and well appointed. We were also able to go to Mackinac Island and a near by water park, so there is plenty to do. Hopefully we will be able to return another time. Marty was very pleasant to deal with, and he always answered all of our questions very promptly.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The beautiful home accommodated all our needs, from the four year old to the grandparents. There were no surprises as the web site accurately shows and describes the place. The lake is clean and warm with a generous beach. The boats and lake raft added to fun on the water. The property is beautiful, and you share it only with your party. The owners and caretakers are attentive and accessible. Definitely 5 stars.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
