A really amazing place for everyone how loves nature, fishing, relaxing and being around friendly people. The Eagle Head Cabins are treated with love. They are very clean and comfortable. You will miss nothing. We were welcomed with open arms. Ron and Denise tried to make our trip as comfortable as they could. We felt like home after the first step we made out of the car. Thank you Ron and Denise for sharing your amazing property with us. We didn’t want to leave after our unmemorable vacation on Eagle Head Cabins in Alaska and definitely will return. Greetings form Switzerland.

The Eagle Head Cabins website seemed too good to be true. Speaking to and emailing Ron on the phone many times prior to our trip made me wonder if this guy is really that "nice." Once we arrived, all our worries literally melted away... as our initial group of 11 drove onto the property, we were greeted by an eagle flying overhead... a sign of good things to come... we hoped... As we drove further into the property, we were in awe... immaculate and manicured grounds, beautiful log cabins and a hard working individual clearing out the driveway near the cabins. Our guess was that this individual was Ron... we were right. We were welcomed with open arms and he made us feel at home as soon as we got there. I think we were all in shock with the beauty of the property and his genuine kindness. Yes, Ron was really that "nice!" Later that evening, we met his wife Denise who is also "as nice" as Ron! Now for the cabins and amenities... Beautiful, solidly built, very clean and comfortable. Accommodations and amenities varied depending on which cabin you're in. Since we were able to rent all the cabins, we were able to see each one. Some cabins had full kitchens while others had smaller ones and others did not... the cabins were beautifully decorated with intricate carvings as well as "trophies" and other artwork that made it known that you are in Alaska! If you like detail work, you'll love Eagle Head Cabins. Private fishing docks were roomy enough to accommodate our group. Three fish cleaning tables are located on the two docks along with running water. We were able to pack and freeze our catch right on property. How fresh is that? Of course we were there to fish but when the fish were not biting (only sometimes) we were able to take in other activities that made this trip exceptional. Ron and Denise helped us with planning other activities such as flyouts, clamming and guided fishing tours. These were also very worth the time. Can you fish all day and night? Almost, as it got darker (around 11pm) we cranked up the open fire pit. It was a treat for the children who roasted marshmallows every chance they got. With the initial group of 11 growing to 15, we were still very comfortable at Eagle Head Cabins. We can't wait to return for the fishing and see our new friends, Ron and Denise (with Max and Rocky of course). Aloha and Mahalo!

Wanted to schedule a fishing trip with sons that we would all never forget. Found Eagle Head on the web and always suspicious when something sounds to good. Everything that I was told met and exceeded expectations. The owners Ron and Denise are fantastic people that go out of their way to assure your trip is exceptional. The cabins and grounds surrounding are kept immaculate and the fishing off the docks is incredible. Ron pointed us to several fun excursions including 4 wheeling that will provide memories forever. We took home a ton of fish, halibut, sockeye salmon and silver salmon. We can't wait to go back the cabins were very comfortable and you are very close to everthing the Kenai offers. Would recommend Eage Head to all ages best vacation we ever had!!! Thanks!!!

We stayed in your Eagle View cabin in September after the crowds of the summer had gone home. We are a group of guys that have hunted and fished together for over 20 years and were looking for place to stay in the heart of the Kenai River. Your lodge certainly fit the bill and was way beyond our expectations. The cabin was clean, quiet (except for us), comfortable, and convenient for our fishing travels. We had a wonderful stay and hopefully we will get to come back soon. Thanks for your hospitality.

The Eagle Head cabins are extraordinary! They are situated right on the Kenai river with the 2 bedroom unit having an excellent view of the river. The cabins and entire property are meticulously clean. This is high-end living! The owners are attentive to your every need and are available as needed for booking or recommendations on guided fishing, bear viewing and other excursions. Plan ahead. These trips book up. With the owner's advice and guidance you can plan your adventure well in advance. They go overboard to see you enjoy your stay. They are well-connected with the local businesses and reach out to others for specific requests. For a reasonable price, we booked 2 guided fly-in fishing and bear viewing trips for sockeye salmon, trout and grayling. We also booked a guided king salmon fishing trip. The owner will advise you of the best times for salmon, trout, grayling or halibut. Wild life abounds! We saw moose with calves on the property as well as all around the area. We saw brown bear, black bear, seal, moose, eagles and birds on our fishing trips. Some from a VERY short but safe distance. Seward and Homer and easy day trips. Seward has an excellent guided boat trip on which we saw otters, eagles, puffins, seals, sea lions, humpback whales (one breaching for 20 minutes), and killer whales. We travelled 80 miles round trip by boat on a full day adventure in which we also paddled under a glacier. It was spectacular! We paddled water with ice all around us and felt very safe. These people LOVE their property and you will too. We enjoyed fishing the Kenai river directly in front of our cabin (fishing gear provided), outdoor fires in a sheltered gazebo as well as a fire pit, and above all socializing with the owners. They have the most adorable Yorkshire Terriers. My wife and three college age children had an outstanding time and highly recommend Eagle Head Cabins to anyone looking for outdoor adventure and indoor luxury.

We stayed at Eagle's Head Cabins for 5 nights in July 2011 and it was an amazing vacation! As we were travelling home last night my mother even commented that she wished she were back on the deck overlooking the Kenai River just enjoying the view. The property was immaculately maintained and the cabins were very clean. Ron and Denise were very accomodating. Ron arranged for all of our fishing trips (and even tried to arrange a boat with the cleanest "facilities" for the women ... thanks). All of the fishing trips were great but our favorite was the "fly-out fishing trip" for red salmon and bear viewing. It was an amazing day! We were in Alaska for 12 days total, including time in Anchorage, Seward and Denali. We all agreed that our time on the Kenai Peninsula was our favorite, most especially our time at Eagle's Head Cabins. I would HIGHLY recommend this location to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation.

I have stayed at the Eagle Head Cabin and several of the adjacent cabins several times in 2006 and 2007. On my first stay my wife, Sue, and my daughter, Chris, accompanied me. We stayed in the Eagle Head cabin. It is clean, bright, comfortable and was convenient for the sightseeing and fishing we did. The owners helped arrange a couple of fishing trips with an excellent guide. I stayed there later that same year, 2006, with my son, Don, and we again fished the Kenai River and both caught 50+ lb King salmon with the same guide. Again that fall after a hunting trip I stayed at Eagle Head and fished the Kenai for Silver salmon and had a fabulous experience. The hosts, Ron and Denise, are friendly, sociable and very knowledgable about the right guides and people to work with for fishing, hunting and sight seeing. I stayed there again in the fall of 2007 before a hunting trip and after that trip I again returned to Eagle Head and fished the Kenai for Silver salmon. I will certainly return and stay at Eagle Head on my next trip to Alaska. Eagle Head cannot be beat. We also fished the Kenai right there at Egle Head off of their docks and thoroughtly enjoyed this casual fishing experience. John

Eagle Head Cabins provides the perfect location for a vacation on the Kenai River and the Eagle View cabin is outstanding. Eagle Head is about a two-hour scenic drive from Anchorage. With a deck that overlooks the river, its location is ideal. The description and the pictures of the well-maintained cabin and grounds, although they were representative and accurate, did not prepare us for the experience that we were about to enjoy. At the Eagle View cabin, there is fishing gear to use and there is a BBQ pit located on the deck. The kitchen is well stocked and the cabin is extremely clean. The cabins and grounds are immaculately kept. Ron booked our guides for salmon fishing on the Kenai and for Halibut fishing in the inlet. He only uses fishing guides that meet his expectations. During our stay, he provided us with smoked salmon that he had smoked himself, and it was outstanding. Ron proved his hospitality and his desire to make our stay memorable when he cooked salmon (that we had caught earlier in the day) for our dinner. He provided us with halibut and the recipe for “poor man’s lobster”—fantastic!!! Eagle Head is located about 11 miles from Soldotna where you can get groceries, and pretty much anything that you might need. Several restaurants are located there, but we chose to eat at Suzie’s Café, which serves a good variety of food, has excellent service, and is within a few miles of Eagle Head. Wildlife, including bear, moose and eagles can be seen near the cabin. Without reservation, I recommend the Eagle View cabin at Eagle Head Lodge. Before we left Eagle Head in August, we were already making plans for a return trip in May 2011.

Our 10 day stay at the Eagle Head Cabins on the Kenai river in Sterling Alaska was exceptional in every regard. After purchasing a package fishing trip at another destination through a charity organization we arrived in Alaska and were faced with extreme disappointment. Fortunately for us we found Eagle Head Cabins in Sterling, AK and our accommodating hosts Ron and Denise. The accommodations were top quality and the service exceeded our highest expectations. Ron worked tirelessly to arrange for last minute guided fishing trips for Halibut and Salmon, including a special "fly in fishing with the bears" that was a highlight of our trip. The cabin was fully appointed with everything we needed or wanted for our stay. Fishing tackle was also provided and Ron went the extra mile to show us the secrets of fishing on the Kenai River. The trainng paid off and resulted in the first daily limit of salmon for the year. They allowed us the maximum of enjoyment by cleaning, filleting, packaging and shipping our salmon. We even enjoyed a special treat of smoked salmon prepared on the premises. Beyond the typical host and hostess, we ended up making life friends and look forward to a return visit. If you are going to Alaska, I would suggest the Kenai river area and in particular the Eagle Head Cabins in Sterling, AK. The value exceeds the cost and you will not be disappointed. I am very cautious when making most recommendations, but this is one time when I am proud to do so . If you have the opportunity to stay at Eagle Head Cabins, don't let it pass you by. Tell Ron that Ed & Cheri recommended you and he may share his fishing secrets with you too. You will not be disappointed!

Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: My wife and I are long time Alaska residents, 40 plus years. I am an avid outdoorsman now living my dream to be retired on the Kenai river. Denise and I really enjoy having summer guests and with our knowledge of the Kenai Peninsula we can guide them to the best activities for their specific vacation dates. We take great pleasure in maintaining our property as a show place, which our past guests will attest to. When you arrive you will be pleasantly surprised and happy that you chose to stay here. Ron & Denise

                  Why the Owner Chose Soldotna:
The beautiful views and the great fishing ! Right in the middle of the Kenai Peninsula, this location gives access to many different fun locations with only short driving distance. Every trip to Homer or Seward is an adventure in itself as you always see wildlife in the beautiful wilderness setting.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Some of the best fishing in the world ! In addition it is such a pleasure to watch all the Eagles fish the river daily and return to their huge nests in the immediate area. Many times we experience Moose swimming across the river sometimes with their new calves. During the summer we frequently see Brown and Black bear in the area. Everyday is an adventure.
