'Inside Out' - the Best Way to Live Your Life
- Minimum stay:3-4 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
We are approved by The Bureau of Standards in association with The Grenada Board of Tourism.
'Inside Out' is situated at one end of the beautiful golden sand beach of Grand Anse. The apartment is within the grounds of our house but is separate from the main house. It is light and bright with fly screens at all windows so you can take full advantage of the wonderful breezes. The setting is simply spectacular with breath-taking views of the whole of Grand Anse beach and the Caribbean Sea. It is magical at any time of the day and especially so at night.
There are stairs to the property but the accommodation is entirely on one level; the main road at the bottom of the hill is a 15 minute walk away - a great walk going down but the steep roads make it advisable to have a car .
We offer you a relaxed and stress-free vacation. We are on hand at all times to assist with all your needs but you can be as private as you wish. The pool and decking area is large and extremely comfortable and is entirely yours and will not be shared by anyone while you are here. There are very comfortable chairs and sun beds; recliners with foot-rests - not plastic garden furniture. All seating comes with cushions.
Why not have breakfast outside on the decking or in the Gazebo and take your time to unwind and simply do nothing! You have one of the best movie theatres in the World, no one in the front row to block your view and seats wherever you want them to be and wonderful cruisers - which film star does that one belong to? - and glorious sunsets to look at.
Although this is self-catering accommodation we are more than happy to offer delicious meals on request which are very reasonably priced. Our 'signature' dish is Shrimp Piri-Piri; this is unique to 'Inside Out' and is accompanied with a lightly spiced Basmati rice and sauteed sweet potatoes. That just gives you an idea of what this place is all about.
The Gazebo on the pool deck is great for just sitting in and relaxing with a cup of coffee and a book and just as good for lunch. And in the evening of course you can have a romantic dinner for two with the stars around, the 5-masted schooners sailing across the sea and the flickering lights around Grand Anse Beach. No sound of traffic - bliss!
WEDDING PACKAGE. We can arrange your very special day for you and take care of all local legal requirements making it totally stress-free leaving you free to enjoy your day. Simply ask.
This location is perfect because it offers peace and tranquility and yet you can, within a few minutes, be in a more lively setting when you choose.
Please note: We can sleep four people but you will lose the sitting room because this room becomes the second bedroom. For one couple you will have the seaview king bedroom and the sitting room, kitchen and all facilities of pool and decking for your sole use.
Note: We have dogs for security. This is a large property and the dogs are always out in the garden. This is a precaution and it is better to be prepared than be scared. Our dogs live outside downstairs and are NEVER allowed upstairs where the apartment is or on any of the facilities of decking/pool or outside upstairs.
This is the closest thing to Paradise, but don't take my word for it, come and see for yourselves!
Keywords: Condo/Apartment with super little pool. INTERNET ACCESS in all rooms and outside.
LAUNDRY ROOM available at all times with a very small charge for electricity, soap powder etc.

We just loved the location of the property high up on a hill overlooking the beautiful bay of Grand Anse and the mountains on the other side. In fact, we spent endless time soaking up the view during breakfast or those amazing sunsets. The property had just the right size for a party of two with two bathrooms (with shower), one bedroom, a small kitchen and a sitting room. The small pool was great for a morning dip. All was well maintained and cleaned regularly. We also received fresh linens and towels every third day. The owners Ellen & Stewart were fantastic hosts, always looking out for our wellbeing while they still left us with plenty of privacy. Thanks again for all. As we arrived quite late, Stewart even picked us up from the airport. He also drove us right away to the local police station to purchase our temporary visitors drivers license. Ellen provided us with a whole bunch of items such as orange juice, milk, toast, jam, eggs, butter etc., surely enough for a good breakfast the first mornings. If you like it hearty, she cooks a delicious English breakfast on request. The owners have 8 very cute and friendly dogs who do not have access to the upper part of the premises. We highly recommend to rent a jeep for your stay. Streets on the island can be quite steep and sometimes not in the best condition.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you to this super couple who made their reservation to come to "Inside Out" 1 1/2 years ahead of their stay!!! We hope, naturally and always do, that our guests will enjoy everything we have on offer. We were fully booked when they originally wanted to come so they booked for the following year. We definitely wanted to live up to their expectations. It is an added bonus therefore that they chose to write a review - unsolicited by us - and to give us a glowing report. It is a huge compliment especially so because they travelled from one side of America to come to Grenada and us. It was a great pleasure to meet this lovely couple and we would love it if they came back. Thank you for your generous compliments. Ellen and Stewart

Our flight out of the states was delayed and the weather was humid and rainy when we arrived but Stewart was promptly there to meet us at the airport. Once we arrived at Inside Out Ellen gave us a quick tour and off to bed. We found the apartment met our needs and was a good value compared to other lodging on the island. The view: The apartment overlooks Grand Anse beach and the view is fabulous. Not only can you see the entire beach, the sunsets are spectacular. The owners: Ellen and Stewart were very friendly but not overbearing. Often, Stewart was out on a fishing trip with clients and Ellen was selling her jelly at the outdoor market and we had the house to ourselves. I wish we had some of Ellen’s’ famous jelly in the provisions Ellen left but we were grateful for the eggs, juice, cream, sugar, bread, butter and jelly. Ellen also provided excellent affordable dinner ideas (La Boulangerie) although we didn’t have time to partake in her renowned cooking. The space/privacy: The apartment is more than adequate size for two people with two baths, a full living room, and an eat in kitchen and master bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked and more than met our needs (with two small fridges). The location/security: It took a few days to get used to driving up and down the steep hills in the neighborhood but we came to feel very comfortable with the route. The property is gated and has bars on the windows although one must still shut and lock all windows prior to leaving (which can make the apt a little stuffy/humid) and you must lock the gate. There are two Rottweilers and six Jack Russell’s who monitor all activity on the grounds and patrol the perimeter—they are super sweet and we loved waking up to them as we peered over the balcony. We also rented a car from Lorry’s (their neighbor) and had a wonderful experience and great rate. The pool: Although the pool was a little chilly in Dec (we only swam once) we soaked our tired feet in it every night at the end of the day and it felt wonderful. Additionally, the reflection of the pool made for spectacular sunsets!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you very much for a lovely review. We are so pleased you liked your time here with the whole place to yourselves and enjoying the beautiful views. We do try very hard to get the balance right in order to leave guests feeling free and easy without us owners around! With regard to my Jam - The monthly Market Place takes place at a local 5* hotel on Grand Anse beach and I have been privileged to be asked to sell my Hot Pepper Jam there and this occurred once during your stay. I would have loved to have made a meal for you and I always do for anyone who asks at any time, this is my ultimate dream, but you never asked and I really cannot put myself forward to ask guests if they want to eat here. You are free to do as you wish. As you say, we "were not overbearing" the blackboard in the apartment kitchen lists quite a few of our specials and these are always on offer. At any time and any day! For all guests, I want nothing more than to make you comfortable and happy with your surroundings and that includes feeding you (if this is what you want) and making you feel welcome. With regard to locking doors/windows, it is in our guests' interests that we ask them to do this, it makes sense and I cannot feel bad for requesting this. Thank you to all our past, present and future guests for coming to Grenada and for choosing "Inside Out".

Our week at the "Inside Out" was relaxing and quite enjoyable. The location was convenient and quiet- up on a hill between St. George and Grand Anse beach. The view is phenomenal! The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable (we slept soundly every night!). The patio area with the private pool was wonderful to relax, dine or take a swim. It was nice to have a kitchen to prepare meals which we enjoyed on the patio gazing at the amazing view! Ellen and Stewart are very gracious hosts. Whatever question or need we had they were quick to help. Grenada is a beautiful island. We like it because it is not as commercial as some of the Caribbean yet plenty to do. The people are all so friendly! We spent time hiking to waterfalls and lakes, touring nutmeg, rum and chocolate plants, wandering through the markets, eating at delicious restaurants and of course enjoying the fabulous beaches- which there are many! A trip to the "Inside Out" is recommended!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Tom and Lucinda, you were wonderful guests and it was great having you here. We have a super job everyone, we get to meet some very nice people from all parts of the world. Their backgrounds vary as does their lifestyle and we are immensely grateful for our good fortune to have the chance to do this work. Tom and Lucinda are one of the many couples that we have enjoyed meeting and we look forward to very many more super guests at "Inside Out". Thank you for a lovely review. Ellen and Stewart

I really lucked out....I spotted this property and immediately thought that this is where I wanted to be for my four weeks in grenada. There is always that lingering thought that the property description and the pictures may not really indicate the same quality of experience. How much reality is there in a description? Somtimes a picture does not truly reflect an actual experience. So, I went with my first impression and any small doubts that I entertained vanished upon being picked up at the airport by Stewart. There were snacks in the fridge and the apartment was immaculate. The property sits on the very top of a hill that looks down the entire beach at Grande Anse....the view is legendary and there was always a breeze. The photos are totally accurate. The pool was immaculate. The grounds are manicured. Ellen and Stewart are the consumate hosts..from directions to conversation to arranging a rental car. Truly a perfect 4 weeks. I want to add this: my vacation in Grenada was 6 weeks. I had to make other arrangements for the last 2 weeks....my only complaint about my visit to this island is that I a did not plan far enough ahead to stay with Ellen and Stewart. for the entire 6 weeks...in fact I emailed them to see if their next guests had arrived. as I was NOT pleased with where I was going to be for the last 2 weeks.. A mistake that I will not repeat. I will not get into the details nor the location of my last 2 weeks....I am only here to represent my experience at the 'Insideout". For comfort, quality, cost....It is totally unlikely that anyone could find a better value for the dollar....abetter view of the caribbean..nor a more congenial couple who will do everything in their power to insure your visit to Grenada is the perfect vacation and memory that you deserve.......Ellen and Stewart, thanks again...Terry ,Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Terry for your most glowing review of "Inside Out" and us. For our part we would like to say that you - Terry - were one of 'DE BEST'. Always congenial, polite and the perfect guest. We would have loved to have had Terry stay with us for much longer. Grenada is an island which makes you feel 'comfortable', it is a gentle island; the people are amazingly friendly and open and generous in their hospitality and thoughts. Terry suited Grenada and we hope very much to see him back on the island some day.

We couldn't have asked for a better view. Although everything was wonderful it's the sunsets that will remain engrained in our minds. Ellen and Stewart were absolutely the best hosts and were very kind and accommodating. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with all the modern conveniences. Upon arrival we were a little concerned with the steep climb as the cottage sits on a hill high above the beach, but the experience of walking to the beach through the community was worth it! Thank you to Ellen and Stewart for sharing their little piece of heaven with us.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was a great pleasure having you at "Inside Out". You were super fun, always smiling and cheerful and one of 'De Best'. Thank you for enjoying our 'bit of paradise' and for saying such nice things about the apartment and your stay here. We missed you when you left and we hope there will be another time and we shall look forward to that. Ellen and Stewart.

Ellen and Stewart thank for a wonderful stay. We are very appreciative of all you did for us to make us feel at home. The spectacular view was a peaceful and welcoming sight each morning when the ‘song’ birds sang their cheerful wake up calls at sunrise. Initially, we were quite concerned by the meandering steep climb up the mountain, but after walking down the tree lined streets, with hummingbirds, chickens, goats, and being greeted by the local families, we looked forward to the walk to the beach and stores. Ellen and Stewart did not hesitate to help accommodate our change in plans when we asked if our son could join us for the weekend. They immediately jumped into action and prepared the adjoining bedroom and before we knew it we were a family again. The tranquil and quiet setting was a perfect change of pace for our son studying at St George’s University. You had hotel-like amenities of a wading pool and kitchenette, yet there were no other guests or noises to distract him from studying. It also gave us more time to spend with him on study breaks. Ellen and Stewart spoiled us, and 3 of our son’s classmates to a gourmet meal that same weekend. The food, music, atmosphere and hospitality could not be matched anywhere. 5 stars all around. THANKS AGAIN ! Take care, God Bless.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thank you for such a great review, it was a pleasure meeting you and then Aaron. All the best Aaron in your studies and you certainly deserve the best results because you are so conscientious. All of you were such good fun and so happy and appreciative of everything we did. It was super to meet your three other student friends; wow, all this young talent and the future stars of our universe! Thank you for awarding us '5 stars all around'. Ellen and Stewart

Our stay at Inside Out was amazing. Ellen and Stewart are great hosts and struck a perfect balance between being friendly and leaving us in peace. We enjoyed their company and they were of great help to us in many ways. We enjoy shopping and catering for ourselves but were tempted again and again with Ellen’s cooking and were never disappointed. The accommodation was comfortable, very clean and the kitchen well equipped. Two fridges was a great idea and extremely useful in such a warm climate. The outside space is magnificent with plentiful sturdy wooden furniture. However we experienced some unprecedented wet and windy weather over the whole four week period which was often difficult to shelter from outside. This would not usually be a problem and Ellen and Stewart went out of their way to help us in whatever ways they could when the weather was rough. The journey up and down the hill, to and from the property through ‘local life’ was a pleasure. Always more dogs, chickens, goats and people to negotiate on the track than vehicles and even enjoyable on foot - a great workout! Great island easy to get around with good roads despite a lack of road signs. Lovely friendly people. Very peaceful and secure spot with great views – just as advertised.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Corinne and Lee were perfect guests. They never complained about anything although they had some pretty wet and windy weather. During the time of their stay we should have been experiencing dry and wonderfully sunny conditions, alas however, the opposite was the case. We are sorry for this but sadly we have no influence over the weather which, as they say, was unprecedented and it is possible to sit inside. Thank you for all the positive compliments. Ellen and Stewart

Inside Out is the perfect getaway. You are completely away from any hustle and bustle that may exist, its like you have your own slice of heaven. Ellen and Stewart are the best hosts that we have ever had, they pour there heart in to each and every day. We were lucky enough to be married on our stay there and it was absolutely perfect and the attention to detail that Ellen and Stewart gave was simply amazing. We will be back and thank you for our perfect getaway. As far as the apartment, the sea view room is perfect. You wake to the birds and view the ocean each and every day. The breeze that blows each day is simply amazing and keeps everything cooled off. There is a very nice stand up shower ensuite. The kitchen is more than adequate for cooking for your stay. The best part of the apartment is by far the pool and outside patio area. The pool is the perfect temperature by mid-day and a wonderful refreshment as we watched the sunset each and every day. Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen as the sun is much stronger than we expected. Overall Grenada is not an overly populated touristy destination. It is the perfect place to go to getaway from the ordinary vacation. The only thing we can say negative, is that when the cruise ships are in port, spend the day in the pool and enjoy. Thank you Ellen and Stewart, we will be back as soon as we can.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was our greatest pleasure and happiness to have this Wedding party at "Inside Out". To be chosen as a vacation destination is a compliment in itself but to be chosen by a couple wanting to hold their Wedding Ceremony at your home is beyond all expectations. It was for us the loveliest day imaginable. Thank you Sandy and Karl for the great compliments you bestow on us and "Inside Out". We definitely expect to see you back here; you are a part of Grenada now and certainly in our lives at "Inside Out". Ellen and Stewart

Thank you Ellen and Stewart for the superb hospitality. We had a wonderful holiday and truly enjoyed the fabulous views and the relaxed atmosphere in Inside Out. Ellen's curry especially is highly recommended and Stewart's rum & coke will definitely guarantee that you will enjoy the real Caribbean liming and dining. Could not have asked for more, it was just what we needed - a proper break from the London rat race. The apartment was very nice, tidy and comfortable but you do not want to be stuck inside as you want to make the most of the Caribbean weather and outdoors. Will come again and again.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Rita and Jason It was super to meet you and thank you for choosing to stay at "Inside Out". This couple truly took on board the meaning of our house name - "Inside Out"; they brought their inside out(side) and so thoroughly enjoyed never being in; meals 'al fresco', limin' in de pool, music and films in the Gazebo and we had a great time together. We hope you will come back before too long and we shall look forward to that very much. Thank you for the compliments; they are always much appreciated. Ellen and Stewart

After 2 weeks sailing in the West Indies, my husband, daughter and I spent our last few days on the beautiful island of Grenada. Our stay at the chaming "Inside Out" was a perfect ending to a perfect vacation. The little villa was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and had a magnificient view of the water. The property owners, Ellen and Stewart, were very helpful and pleasant..even helping to arrange for a great personal tour guide (called "Cateye"--he is a legend around the island and I highly recommend him as well). My only regret is that we didn't get a chance to experience one of Ellen's reputedly great homecooked meals.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Lisa for choosing to come to us. We enjoyed meeting all of you. Thank you too for saying such lovely things about "Inside Out" and Grenada. Hopefully we will meet again one day and then you will have the time to sample one of my meals. Ellen and Stewart

About the owner: Hello, I am Ellen and I grew up in England. Stewart, my husband, and I love the outdoor life but it's too cold in England for me. We spent several years in Kenya where we first went on holiday; we were then offered work there operating a Big Game Fishing Boat and we divided our time between 6 months there and 6 months in the UK. We were certain that this was what we wanted to do with our lives. We chose Grenada and the St. George's area because we have the best of both worlds; the beautiful beach of Grand Anse and the shops and restaurants nearby, and the lively capital town of St. George's. The people are truly friendly; the climate is wonderful - the temperature never drops below 23c at night and is around 31c during the day - and naturally we now have our own Big Game Fishing Charter boat but you don't have to go fishing in order to come to 'Inside Out' - that is just another activity which we can offer to our guests on Grenada. Our accommodation is suitable for all ages and we have met some super people from around the world. So, we are hoping that you will visit us very soon in Grenada and come to stay at 'Inside Out'. I have always been enthusiastic about cooking and food and several years ago I went to college to learn about catering and food prep. Cooking a meal, however simple, is something that I can create each time; it isn't a chore but a wonderful way to do a job which I love. I have been very lucky and have been paid many compliments for my meals. We have a wide range of meals from fish, naturally, and meat to very tasty vegetarian dishes.
Why the Owner Chose St George's:
We built our own home here including a vacation rental because of the fabulous natural location. We are perfectly situated for all activities and yet secluded; it is so peaceful and on a hill-top setting the sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable. The property is at one end of Grand Anse beach and it will take no more than 5 minutes to drive to the shops and restaurants and the beach. Peace and quiet when you want it and a more social life otherwise. The weather is fabulous with a constant temperature of about 31c during the day. The beaches are clean and the water temperature is warm! What more can you want? You can snorkel and go diving and if you don't want to be in the water you can also travel over the water and visit our sister island of Carriacou.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
At 'Inside Out' you can relax completely; it is your home for the time you stay. We will do whatever we can to help, from loaning umbrellas, calling taxis, arranging an outing for you, picking you up at the bus stop etc. We believe renting a car will add to your holiday however.
I believe 'Inside Out' is unique in many ways; it is truly relaxing, exceptionally friendly, outstandingly welcoming and trust me, you won't want to leave this bit of Paradise to go back home. But then, this is Grenada and 'Inside Out'. You have everything here.
