We were thrilled with this unit and its extra amenities......everything we had hoped for and more. This was our 3rd year at the Island Inn, but the first in a VRBO unit on the property. We were so able to unwind with twice-daily beach walks - just across the lawn. Cooking on the grill just outside our door helped us keep our weight down by not eating out as many meals, yet a fine restaurant was also across the yard, when we wanted service. Hope scheduling allows us to return to this unit in 2013.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We had an enjoyable stay in Sanibel enhanced by our stay in this condo. It was spotless and tastefully decorated, this was a "worry free" condo that included everything we needed. We enjoyed and appreciated its location on the quiet end of the island and the sunsets on the community deck were spectactular. The beach area had little activity and shelling was excellent. The owners have done a wonderful job with this condo and it lived up to everything they promised. They were equally helpful in providing us tips on places to eat and visit. Everything you need for a perfect vacation is there for the taking. Thank you for sharing your place with us. We hope to visit again soon. Sincerely......Snowbound in Oshkosh, WI in the winter.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

About the owner: Our family loves the beach. We moved to Vermont from New York and opened an Inn. To re-energize, we sought out an island paradise where we could bike, kayak, shell and jog on the beach. Sanibel, a lush, tropiical island that is predominantly protected nature preserve, turned out to be the place. What's special at this property is its Utopic setting, at the end of the beach, removed from crowds . The beach is steps from the condo. Sunsets are so stunning, travelers from around the world visit just to witness one. Numerous bird varieties dive for fish and rest along the water's edge. Even dolphins, manatees and rays swim amid the surf and are seen often. The shells are pink, purple, brown, orange, white, black, so many different hues, the beach sometimes looks like an artist's palette. Although we have traveled extensively, we've not found a spot in the U.S. more breathtaking, relaxed and fun. Our kids love the quirky island "theme" restaurants and laid-back beach shacks where the musicians play all day. For us and guests who have provided feedback, it is a convenient -to- reach paradise. We wish to share the experience with you . Happy travels!!!
Why the Owner Chose Island Inn:
This unit is located in a building that has a deck offering extraordinary views of the water, beach and sunset, on the Historic Island Inn property, one of the oldest and beautifully landscaped locales on the Gulf. It is on the preferred beach end, which has little development, fewer crowds and less noise.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The gourmet kitchen set-up makes meal preparation easy and more affordable than going out. The jetted tub with rainshower is a luxurious treat at the end of the day. Bike rentals will be delivered to the unit and may be stored right outside the door on the bike rack for the duration of your stay. Many guests take a cocktail to the beach or sundeck in the late afternoon while watching the sunset. The on-site restaurant has excellent food and fine entertainment.
