Get away from winter and experience the Nature Coast of Florida in a exceptional house on the Homosassa River. Our house is over 2,100 square feet and boasts two large separate living areas joined together by a spacious kitchen.
Here you'll be able to thoroughly enjoy the Nature Coast. Beautiful in the daytime with over 50 trees on our one acre lot, including orange, grapefruit, hickory, eastern red cedar, red bud and cabbage palms. About the owner: I'm a business owner in Tampa and use our Homosassa cottage to get away from from the city. I have two teenage boys and a wife that enjoy all that the nature coast has to offer.
Why the Owner Chose Homosassa:
We choose Old Homosassa for our 3rd home because of it tranquility and it's location on the Homosassa River. The best part is that it is only 1 hour from our Tampa home. Our family has a pig roast every summer to celebrate scallop season and we invite all our neighbors and friends from Homosassa and Tampa. When not roasting pigs we enjoy "The River", there are so many things to do. You can fish, go to the springs and swim with manatees, go to the Gulf of Mexico, hang out at riverside pubs and even enjoy the Homosassa State Park right on the river.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our Old Homosassa house is located right at the center of the river. Turn right and you can go to the riverside pubs, cruise past "Monkey Island" (see the monkeys), hit the Springs to swim with the Manatee's. Turn left on "The River" and you wave good bye to civilization. You'll have your choice of fishing, deep sea or flats. You can also tube the kids, sight see for dolphin or just sit and enjoy lunch in one of the most beautiful places in the world (Nature Coast). If you enjoy golfing, there are many golf courses within a half hours drive. My favorite is a Golf Digest, top 20, public golf resort, called World Woods. World Woods has 2 courses and the largest practice area I have ever seen. There are no houses on the course and the wild life is everywhere. It is truly a golf experience that you'll want to repeat over and over again.
