  My wife and I stayed at Skyflower for two weeks in Feb. 2011 and again this Feb. 2013 and can’t say enough about this special spot in the paradise which is St. John. Bill and Jan, the owners who live upstairs during the winter months are so thoughtful and helpful. They do all the big things extremely well and all kinds of "little things" to make your time even more amazing.  The place itself is immaculate, with everything we needed from coffee filters, an unusual salt shaker to perhaps the slickest frying pan ever made! The flowers, treats, notes and even a poem were over the top and we so enjoyed our opportunities to simply talk. Skyflower Suite is beautifully decorated. Every room is simply lovely, and the King bed is wonderful. But its greatest asset is the mahogany deck that wraps around the entire length of the house, giving you a breathtaking view of Coral Bay, the East End of St. John and the British Virgin Islands. The sunrises make you want to go to bed early and get up to enjoy them! We are passionate snorkelers and found wonderful coral and fish at some new places this time. North Haulover was an aquarium with lots of healthy coral. Keep watching for a fairly calm day and head out left. South Haulover is also very good on both sides and Blue Cobblestone Beach on the way to Ram Head is terrific! Also be sure to snorkel the mangroves in Princess Bay, but even better go with Serena Sea in Coral Bay. She'll take you by boat to the best mangrove snorkeling in Water Creek. It has gorgeous coral, anemones and fish galore! It cost $60 each and she takes you to two places (we also went to Flanigan's Island), and has nice snacks and beverages. Again, many thanks to Bill and Jan who are the perfect hosts in every way!

  Skyflower... what a perfect name for this beautiful island house way up on the Bordeaux mountain. When you first look out from your own private deck, it seems like you are looking @ a picture in a book, but it is not... It is a real picture and a most cooling breeze that you feel.Then there are the most colorfull flowers, many types of plants, trees ,birds, lizards and lots more are there for you to enjoy. It is only a few minutes down the mountain to grocery stores, friendly restaraunts and beaches. We have stayed @ many houses since 1991 when we first set foot on STJ, but this house is special, it comes with the perfect hosts, Jan & Bill Hoffman. Thier knowledge and love of this island are awsome! This year we snorkled as always, every day, all day ...but found a great spot for viewing turtles. Check out Mayo Bay. We saw many Turtles & Rays. Lots with hitchiker fish (remoras). Hope they are still there if you are planning to visit Mayo Bay. Every time we think we have seen it all, we make more great memories. Sincerely, Susan & Jay

  My husband and I returned from a two weeks stay in the Skyflower Suite (end of January - first week in February) filled with amazing and happy memories. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment greatly, high up on Bordeaux Mountain. Our hosts Jan and Bill are delightful, and were ever so helpful and friendly finding a new beach or restaurant, yet giving you all the privecy one desires. The apartment is charming, clean, comfortable und well equipped. There is no better place than sitting on the terrasse enjoying the beautiful view and an early cup of coffee. We hope to return to the Skyflower Suite, a well kept secret!

  My husband and I spent a marvelous week at Skyflower Suite in Bordeaux Mountain in late April. The house is beautiful, the view is breathtaking, and Bill and Jan are marvelous hosts. They are so kind and helpful in answering questions and helping you navigate the island. I just cannot say enough about their little suite - the view is truly world-class, the bed is extremely comfortable, the bedroom, bathroom and living room are perfectly clean and exquisitely decorated, and the whole experience is very romantic - even for my husband and I who have been married for 31 years! The outdoor shower is one of the most luxurious amenities we have ever experienced - especially since the St. John weather on the mountain is always pleasantly warm with a lovely breeze for a perfect outdoor shower with beautiful flowers and greenery for privacy. My husband and I just had the time of our lives at St. John, and Skyflower Suite along with our new friends, Bill and Jan, had a huge role in making it so marvelous. You will be making a big mistake if you don't stay at this lovely place.

  Recently returned from our second week-long Skyflower stay. Still amazed at the awesomeness of this place! Absolutely stunning setting with eye-popping views. Comfortable, super clean, very well decorated apartment; perfect for a couple. Bill and Jan are terrific, helpful and friendly and as available as you want them to be. A quick drive down the mountain and you're in Coral Bay, near East End snorkeling that's among the best on the island. This is an idyllic spot...

  Skyflower is a wonderful vacation spot and we are so thrilled to have found it. Bill and Jan are wonderful hosts who truly care about their home as well as the comfort of their guests. The suite is private, immaculately maintained, and has the most amazing views and sunrises. The large porch and outdoor shower are just two of the many things that make this home so special. Our week in paradise at Skyflower was pure bliss. We feel so lucky to have met Bill and Jan, who are the nicest people anyone could hope to meet. We can't wait to come back!   My husband and I had a fantastic time on our 6th visit to the island. Bill greeted us the first night to introduce us to our home for the week. Jan's personal touches were very much appreciated. This home is high on Bordeaux mountain with the most awesome views you could imagine. There is a large deck for relaxing and taking in the wonders of island life. It is also very private and you could believe no one else exists. The breezes keep the mosquitoes away and sleeping was most pleasant. You can feel like you are sleeping in the open if the glass sliders on 2 sides are open in the bedroom - yes there are screens. Everything was very comfortable and spotless. Our only complaint was the time was too short. We were not ready to leave after a week. This was the nicest place we have stayed on the island and will be our destination for future trips. Thank you, Jan and Bill, for being so friendly and personable.

  We have visited St John for many years and this is the best place we have ever rented. It is perfect for a couple. The views are spectacular. The apartment is well designed, attractive, comfortable and clean. Our hosts Bill and Jan were always helpful and are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Near to good restaurants and good beaches what more could one ask for?

  My husband and I stayed at Skyflower in April for our honeymoon, and had the most wonderful time. The views from Skyflower's deck were breathtaking, and pictures simply do not do them justice. The apartment was immaculate, spacious, and decorated beautifully. We loved waking up to views of the British Virgin Islands from our bedroom, then enjoying our coffee and breakfast on the huge wrap around deck. Going back to Skyflower after daily activities around the island was the best, because it felt like a vacation within our vacation. More importantly, however, was Jan and Bill's hospitality. They were such gracious hosts, and a delight to be around. Jan and Bill's special touches were everywhere, and they thought of everything before we even knew we needed it. Their recommendations for activities and dining options were always spot on, and their knowledge of the island, both cultural and historical, made our time on St. John more interesting. We loved Skyflower and can't wait to go back!! We would recommend it without hesitation. Thanks again Jan and Bill!

  Our visit to Skyflower in March of 2010, was just about perfect for the two of us experienced travelers. The setting and views from high above Coral Bay were drop dead gorgeous. Skyflower was not only beautiful, it was tastefully appointed with everything you'll need -- the owners thought of every detail here. Most of all, it was spotless and very well maintained. Your hosts are extremely friendly and helpful giving you all the assistance, or privacy, you want. The deck and views are the highlight here, along with a fabulous outdoor shower. We were very comfortable and happy at Skyflower and will hopefully be able to return sometime soon. We higly recommend this property.
