Bedroom #2 has a Queen size bed with a sitting room, television, DVD and Gas Fireplace which can be closed off by pocket doors for extra privacy.

This cozy chalet is as described - and the surroundings are beautiful. It was clean, and felt very family friendly. We had 4 adults and 5 children. The room heaters/fireplaces were wonderful - especially the one in the kitchen. With no washer /dryer, we warmed up our wet clothes with them, too. It snowed every day and it really made the trip!! The property was scenic and fun to hike with all the snow. We skied and went tubing at Holiday Valley - both great. Shopping and eating in town at the EBC and Dina's (for breakfast). At the home: no washer/dryer, no cell signal for phones (has land line), no Wi Fi. We had hot water but it was inconsistent. The owner was always helpful and called to make sure we had everything we needed. We would recommend it.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

Our extended family (six adults and four kids ages 2 - 15) just returned from a fun three-night Thanksgiving stay at this property about 5-10 minutes from downtown Ellicottville, NY. The photos on this site are accurate depictions of the home, but there aren't enough photos here to do justice to the many nooks and seating areas around the house. It was all these different rooms and seating areas (plus the three bathrooms) that made the house feel very spacious for our whole group. The kitchen was the highlight of the house, with lots of room and seating at the table for 10, plus a couple stools for the central island. House was clean We had fun hiking around the property, which has steep wooded slopes and several small ponds. It felt very remote, in a good way (quiet, stars, privacy, etc.). We also went hiking in the gorgeous nearby Allegheny State Park and enjoyed the holiday festivities in the quaint Ellicottville town center. The owner was very nice and casual when working out the arrangements, and there was a local caretaker who answered our questions while there at the chalet. Now, the downsides: (1) One of the main drawbacks is that there is no washer/dryer on site. This might not be a big deal if you're traveling with all adults, but it's crucial with kids; we really missed having a washer/dryer to do clothes, towels, etc. (2) We didn't consistently have hot water for washing dishes, taking showers, etc., despite what looked like a very nice and new instant water heater; not sure what the problem was there. (3) we had a hard time regulating the temperature upstairs in the bedrooms; I assume this is user error but I wish the instructions for heating the place were written out and conveniently placed on our arrival.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
