My husband and I stayed here for three weeks and loved it. We didn't have a car, so it was great to be able to walk to all the fun stuff that both upper and lower Queen Anne had to offer. We also loved the convenience if having a trader joes within walking distance. The bus stops are also very close to assist in exploring the rest if the city. The owners were very very nice and even came down to help me trouble shoot getting my iPad hooked up to their network (which was no fault of the network but the settings on my device). It was a great place to stay and would recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway.

I would highly recommend staying here, you can't ask for nicer host, helped find a place I could get some good fried seafood. ( Etta's) good fried shrimp. The apartment is setup nice with all the amenities of home. Bus stop 50 yards from the door, nice to have. We would stay here again if the owners would allow us, we was running the washing machine late every night because we had full days.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with future travelers. It is good information for others to base their decisions on and it is a definite help to our efforts. We really enjoy this business and appreciative guests such as yourselves make it that much better. You were delightful have stay with us and we would welcome your return anytime.

Just as described. A very nice house with two bathrooms, an office, a nice living area, patio, and bedroom. The only negative was that the spa wasn't working, but once I figured out where the circuit breaker was, we were in business.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with future travelers. Everyone benefits from your experience. We love this little business and loved having you as a guest. Sorry about the spa. I had no idea until you just mentioned it. We will be extra vigilant to make sure it is on 24/7. Thank you again for positing.

This was a perfect spot for us! Cute and functional, owners are very helpful, with so many amenities that you don't find in hotels. We loved being able to do laundry, to eat in but eat really good local food. Walking to Lake Union was easy and parking in front was so convenient. Did I mention the view? We were able to watch the Blue Moon rise and we could see "the mountain" from the deck. This is a wonderful space in a neighborhood and we hope to come back. Highly recommend it and we have used VRBO several times.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to a return visit. I have to agree, the "blue moon" and views of Mt. Rainer were beautiful. Thank you for sharing your experience with future travelers. This is information we all appreciate.

We were lucky enough to spend six weeks here in June/July. We are Seattleites living overseas and come home every summer. The apartment is absolutely beautiful and we loved the outdoor areas; the photos represent it very well. We were impressed with the level of detail Bill and Esther have put into the apartment; from the high-end appliances, the beautiful crown molding, the comfortable bed, as well as the local coffee, GPS, maps, and more—they thought of everything! They were great hosts and were quick to respond to any questions we had. The location is ideal; it has a neighborhood feel (with great shops and restaurants) but is minutes to downtown. We are glad we found a place to call home when we’re in the States and look forward to staying again next summer.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Laura & Steve, the feeling is mutual. You were ideal guests, quality people and a treat to have stay with us. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are sure it will help future travelers and our little business. We would be delighted to have you stay with us again.

We stayed here for a 2 nights while showing a friend from outside the US around Seattle. If you don't know Seattle and aren't sure where to stay, I highly recommend the Queen Anne neighborhood. We were able to walk to downtown and the waterfront, as well as walk to the grocery store and dinner. It was a pleasant walk through a beautiful neighborhood (there are hills). The apartment is even better than you can imagine! Great location, luxurious, beautiful, spotlessly clean, comfortable! The owner was friendly and helpful. Perfect!Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to post this review. It is nice to know that our efforts are appreciated and even nicer to know that you had a wonderful time. Come back soon.

My fiance and I enjoyed staying here after spending time in another Home Away found property in Vancouver. This Seattle property was a great place to stay. Very clean and felt like home instantly. We never saw the owners but when we had questions we emailed them and they were quick to respond regarding details about the rental and about Seattle. We walked to the city from this location - easy down hill. We were able to fairly easily park our car on the street and never parked further than a couple houses away. If you are thinking of visiting Seattle we strongly recommend staying here, to instantly feel at home. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the hot tub, the very comfy bed and owner made soaps and shampoos. What a great touch! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I've call this "home" when I've stayed here several times. Very clean, cozy, and well decorated. Loved the quaint yard with your own hot tub to relax in. The owner is wonderful and friendly. It is right on the busline and close to all the fabulous restuarants on Queen Anne Hill. This "home" as all the right touches to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

In town for a work project this week, I needed a place to stay and there were no hotel rooms available in Seattle. This turned out to be a great bit of luck because instead I discovered this extraordinary apartment on Queen Anne. Nothing in the listing is hyperbole, if anything, the layout and furnishings are nicer than you might gather from the description. Everything from the lighting to the chairs to the kitchen appliances shows outstanding attention to detail and a real love for the architecture of the place. Even the plumbing fixtures were nicer than at any place I've actually lived. Although the neighborhood is pretty vertical I found it very nice to walk around - a half-mile trip down the hill takes you to the Lower Queen Anne/ Seattle Center neighborhood, including the QFC market (24 hours), Silver Platters music store, and some great dining. My long-time favorite is Crow, a New American style dining establishment. There is also a Caffe Vita on the same block, which is the source for the fantastic coffee beans found in the kitchen. In addition to the terrific lodging and neighborhood, the owners are very agreeable to deal with and go to great length to make sure you get the most from your stay in Seattle. I may be ruined for hotel living after this.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1984
About the owner: I have been working with interior designers and architects in Seattle, New York City and Los Angeles for over 30 years. This has given me the opportunity to appreciate some of the finest design work available in this country. As part of my profession, I have been exposed to the best of the best available in North America and Europe. I thoroughly enjoy being able to share this experience with others through remodeling and renovation projects such as this delightful urban garden apartment. I also enjoy good company, wine and cruising on Lake Washington, Lake Union and the Puget Sound in our 1956 Chris Craft motor yacht. I can frequently be seen wearing a smile.
Why the Owner Chose Queen Anne:
Seattle is arguably the most beautiful city in the United States and this apartment is perfectly situated to enjoy a unique private garden atmosphere while being close to all the important sights of the city. We have been living on Queen Anne hill for over 30 years and think it is the ideal location to see Seattle and all it has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
We are centrally located near the heart of downtown Seattle and enjoy easy access via cab, car or bus. Although we are midway up one of Seattle's most notable hills, Queen Anne, we are mere blocks from the Seattle Center and South Lake Union. Boutique coffee houses abound and an outstanding selection of the finest dining available is never more than a few minutes away. Should you decide to stay in, your efficient gourmet kitchen overlooks a living/dining area furnished with classic mid century furnishings placed in a delightfully detailed 1926 bungalow renovation. Powder room facilities are discretely located near the entry and a small office/work area is furnished with a fax, scanner, copier/printer. The living area opens to a Brazilian teak deck that overlooks and steps down to a hot tub and 1,400 square feet of Montana Slate that has been set into a terrace and meandering path leading to the end of the yard.
