We were very excited to see how close the condo was to Kincaid Park. Kincaid Park is a magical place and only a five minutes drive from the condo. In winter there is something for everyone; hiking, skiing, sledding and even mountain biking! In the summer we are able to hike the coastal trail that is absolutley beautiful and bike with our children. The condo is also a short distance away from The Dimond Center whick includes a mall and movie theatre. Overall we have enjoyed our stay in south anchorage and would gladly recommend the Berry Patch condo.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The photos of Berry Patch I are excellent and give you a very good feel for the entire place. The upstairs is the living/dining/kitchen area and the downstairs is the 3 bedrooms and bathroom. You enter on the lower level. Everything was clean. The kitchen needed maybe just a few more towels, but otherwise was stocked with enough items. The location is convenient. The owners were responsive and called to make sure we had arrived. Our only complaint was the parking spot that is with the unit. It is extremely difficult to get into and when we were there, the parking lot had a stream running through it which made turning around very difficult for any vehicle with low clearance. The outside is nothing to rave about. But inside was nice.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing.

I recently got married. My wedding party stayed at this condo and had a marvelous time. They were thrilled that the condo was in close proximity to the airport (they didn't have a rental car), that there were several restaurants in walking distance (Tastee Freeze [burger joint], Ronnie Sushi, and Kincaid Grill [upscale seafood/wine]) and was in the middle of town (close enough to get downtown easily, but also easy to hop on a road down to Seward). They all are runners, so were happy to find out that there were tons of well-maintained sidewalks in all directions along the main roads, a small park with a track (.5 mi away), a school with a track (1 mi) and an enormous park with cross-country running trails too! There were 7 of them that stayed there. They were very comfortable space-wise. There were plenty of blankets, pillows and towels for everyone. It was clean and bright. Everyone that stayed in the downstairs bedrooms were perfectly happy with the amount of light (dark enough to sleep comfortably). The only complaint came from the upstairs-sleepers because the blinds didn't darken the rooms enough (they're all from Texas and aren't used to the sunny Alaskan nights). When I visited late at night, I thought it was fine (dark enough, but not cave-black-dark). That was an extremely minor issue overall, since everyone still decided to rate it as an "excellent" experience - like I said, it is really a matter of light preferences - otherwise, the Berry Patch condo hit the mark on cleaniness and comfort. Everyone from the group will definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in visiting Anchorage.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
