Charming and fully remodeled in 2011, we have tried to make this nest a home away from home, with all we would like to share with our guests about our wonderful region, the Cote d'Azur, but also, with all the comfort we would like to find when we travel ! Villefranche Heaven's nest is located in the heart of the old historical town, steps from the sea, the beach, all the restaurants, shops, and easy to use public transportation. Beeing in a pedestrian area, no cars will ever trouble your vacation. Rue Baron de Bres if one of the typical old town street, with flowers, and a real local feeling. The apartment is full of light, as it has 9 windows, and located on the top floor of a typical old Villefranche town house. From the street it's only a couple of steps up, so easy to access.
The heart of the apartment is the living area, with a brand new couch, dining area and open kitchen. On one side, is the master bedroom with a venitian stucco, a typical view of the old town by the 2 windows, and an antique marble ensuite full shower room, to enjoy privacy anytime. All widows are double glazed if needed. On the other side of the living area, you will find the second bedroom with 2 single beds, opening to the balcony, a large built in closet. Off course the twin beds can be turned into a queen size bed upon request. On the other side of the hallway, is the second full bathroom, with a bath/shower, and WC. All is brand new ! And we have decided to fit in a little separate laundry room, with dryer and washer.
All the appliances, all the amenities are high standard. From Antique peaces to real high end comfy and cosy pieces, this apartment is ideal for travelling around on the French Riviera, and come back to a real nest, enjoy time with your family or for a romantic stay.
You wil find that we have done our best to offer high quality with a real French touch, and share the feeling we have for Villefranche sur mer !
Villefranche-sur-Mer is in a village in the heart of the Cote d’Azur ( between Cannes and Monaco.) Created in 1295 by Charles II d’Anjou, this village has kept its picturesque charm with the progression of the centuries. The bold colors of Mediterranean style homes, the small and steep streets and the lack of cars in the old village will bring to mind times past while offering the finest of modern cuisine, art, and scenic views. Villefranche-sur-Mer is blessed with a Mediterranean climate; mild in winter and very warm in summer. Lots of shops, and very good restaurants in the old town.
From the apartment it is only 30 minute drive west to the Nice International Airport and a 30 minute drive east to the Italian border town of Ventimiglia. It is a 15 minute drive/bus/train ride to the city of Nice and 15 minutes to the country of Monaco. The city of Villefranche-sur-Mer is accessible by train and the station is a five minute walk from the house.

We enjoyed our stay in this 18thC apartment in beautiful, quaint Villefranche. Located in the heart of historical Old Town it has been refurbished recently; tastefully decorated with a blend of good antiques and modern furnishings and top of the line appliances. It is well stocked with linens, cooking utensils and dishes, beach accessories even movies, travel guide and brochures. It is clean and well maintained. Europe experienced a cold spell and Villefranche was not spared. With remote control heaters in all the rooms we were comfortable. Initially, we were a bit overwhelmed by the distance of the steep stairs up to the main village as well as down to the waterfront as we are both mid-70 in age. Before long our physical strength and well-being improved. We enjoyed walks around the beautiful waterfront to Darse Port for coffee; climbed up the fortress to watch Boules; to Beaulieu (next town) to Super U for groceries; to Saint Jean Cap Farat, a scenic, quaint village. With reasonably priced transportation systems we explored locations from Cannes to open markets in Ventimiglia and San Remo, Italy. There are restaurants galore with excellent food. We liked the pizzas from the little restaurant just below the apartment. Muriel is terrific! She speaks fluent English and she is available to help and answer questions and is so accommodating. We are glad to have rented this apartment as we felt comfortable and at home. We would recommend this apartment to our friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Most reviews give similar accounts…after all, we are referencing the same places, but the short of it is…THIS APARTMENT IS FANTASTIC… STAY HERE AND ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN! We spent a wonderful week in this fabulous, updated apartment during early September, 2011. Muriel is the perfect host... extremely thoughtful, sincere, knowledgeable, and readily available if needed. As for the apartment in general, we found it lacking in nothing... all the comforts and conveniences of home were available, including a wonderfully thoughtful and useful welcome basket, replete with wine to start our journey in Villefranche. As two couples we particularly enjoyed the two separate and complete bathrooms. WIFI and the phone service worked splendidly and gave us a sense of security and relief maintaining a connection with family back home when necessary. The television was wonderful but never used since we were too busy taking in all of Villefranche! The location is great being close to all conveniences, sights, and amenities, including train access...even the beach is but a very pleasant stroll away! A wonderful variety of restaurants are within a short walk. Perhaps the best restaurant of all, one of combined value and quality, is literally across the walkway. Don't miss it! Probably the single most important impression we have in retrospect is that we truly felt at home! The locals are friendly and helpful, and we spoke with people that have returned on numerous occasions for the beauty, the warmth and the charm of Villefranche sur Mer. We truly hated to leave and continue to talk about an encore!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What an enjoyable stay my Family (4 adults) had at Muriels place in Villefranche. A luxurious haven in the heart of the old town of Villefranche ..... within easy walking distance to the harbour , beach , cafes and bars. Try the restaurant next door ... superb ! It was a shame we could only stay the four nights ..... next time it will be a longer stay. An easy walk to the train station with regular service west to Nice / Antibes / Cannes and east to Monaco. Well worth hiring a fishing boat for the afternoon to explore the bay / Cap Ferrat. Thanks Muriel for your hospitality ..... what a brilliant start to our European holiday !!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

OK... Here it is! This apartment is great, the location is ideal and the owner is just awesome. We really appreciated the warm welcoming by Muriel and mostly how professional and organized she is, even her own little insider's guide to the riviera is worth using. The village of Villefranche is just where you want to be to experience what it must have been like a 100 years ago in a mediterranean village, it feels great just to be there. If you feel like being a tourist go down the stairs towards the sea, but if you want to feel like a local then go up the stairs where you will find a nice little café and bakery. The apartment is also really nice, we enjoyed the ambiance at night with the terrasse of the nearby restaurants creating a charming mood. The appliances are all brand new and high quality, everything inside the apt is new and of very good taste. We liked the area as well, but Nice was not our favorite. Make sure you go to Eze, Monaco and enjoy Villefranche as well. Anyways... you should give it a try and see for yourself how great this one is... Definitely, we want to go back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Completely renovated with high quality furniture !The owner is so nice and you could find at your arrival a basket with some local food and wine to welcome !Nice is very near, and Cannes, and Monaco ....but, Villefranche is really the best place of this mediterraneen coast ! The apartment in Villefranche has all the qualities of a five star hotel, everything was new and it was beautifully furnished. It was a great experience to live in the old city yet with all the modern convenience of Internet, DVD player, satellite TV, washer / dryer. You are less than a minute from the sea front where there are many restaurants to choose from and if you wish to create your own delights the local shops such as butcher, baker, green grocer are on your door step ! The owner was most helpful and nothing was too much trouble she really had thought of everything! Perfect! Why the Owner Chose Villefranche-sur-Mer:
I have been a property manager on the Riviera for 22 years now, and when my husband and I saw this apartment, we just loved it because of all the windows, the light that was coming in ( I am a little claustrophobic and usually all the places in the odl town are really close to each other). Plus it was a top floor, but no high steps to reach it as it's only 5 steps up to main door. Very high diamond shape ceilings, the perfect display to have a parent ensuite bedroom on one side, with a romantic view on typical old town street and arch, and the children's bedroom on the other side with their own full bathroom, a well sized for the area living space. So we bought it !
We have remodeled it completely and have made it a home away from home. We have used all our experience as a travelling family, to give you all you need to have the perfect vacation, cosy, comfort, and typical. Because this is what we are looking for when we travel. We want the real experience,not only what tourists area offer. And on Rue Baron de Bres, with all the old stones, the locals taking out their chair after dinner to talk a bit, it is the real atmosphere of a southern France village. We would not say the apartment has a sea view even if you can see a little bit of the sea from the bedroom windows on the side. But so you know, when you are down here, you have a sea view all the time : having a coffee at a local café by the water, driving, having a train ride, the Mediterranean is present all the time. Villefranche sur mer is a unique picturesque little town or village. The old historical town, is right by the seashore, lots to do in the summer but also in the winter. Very easy to get around, train, buses, pedestrian area so no cars around. Only 20 mn from Nice International airport, Monaco is just 20 mn's away, Italy is so close. And Villefranche has everything, lots of restaurants, pubs, bars, shops. Very touristy area, but in the heart of the old town, so quiet, time seems to have stopped!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
It's a very short walk to the beach, and to everything, and at the same time, so quiet. Take a coffee or a glass of wine beeing in an historical area is just amazing. Stress is washed away in seconds. But if you want the crowd, well it will just take 1 mn walk to find it !
