This is a charming French apartment in a great neighborhood. We had a great time, and are grateful to Nicolas for being so accommodating. Everything was functional, as listed, and clean and well-maintained. Within a one-block radius are intimate cafés, fancy restaurants, cheap restaurants, food markets, bakeries, etc. Consider a crepe or a panini to go from Wepler, or morning coffee at the Café Salé. The Place de Clichy subway station is a three-minute walk. But even better, for transportation, are the buses. Bus #95, in particular, goes from the front door straight to the Opera, the Louvre, the St. Germain, etc. Plus you get to see stuff while you're riding around. The apartment is on what Americans would call the third and fourth floors. That is: you walk up two flights of stairs to the front door, and there's a (tight) staircase inside the apartment up to the bedroom level. So it may not be ideal for visitors with limited mobility. For everybody else: the lack of an elevator makes it a great deal. It's also easy to get to from the airport: we took the Roissy Bus from CDG, which drops you at the Opera. If your bags have wheels, consider walking from there to the apartment: it's about 20 minutes.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We stayed in Nicolas' place for 3 nights for the Paris Pitchfork festival. The owners were very accommodating with late checkout for us, as we had a late flight from Paris. Plenty of beds and lots of space. There's a large dining area, a dining table in the kitchen, a large living area with nice furniture. The kitchen is well kitted out with all appliances. The location is right beside a metro, so all of Paris is easily accessible. Montmatre is a few mins walks, so it's great to have such restaurants and bars near the place. For us the biggest bonus was the Denon hifi, with excellent sound quality!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

After living in Paris for two year, my expatriate assignment came to an end. While the movers packed up our apartment, we rented this one in which to stay. It is one of the larger apartments we had seen in Paris. It has 4 bedrooms, two toilet rooms and two (seperate) shower rooms (one of which is combined with a bath). The living room, kitchen and dinning room are on the 2nd floor (2 levels above the street), while stairs inside the apartment go up to the 4 bedrooms. It is located on metro line 2 and near several bus lines. The train station St. Lazare is not far on foot either. This apartment has the personal touches of the owners, giving it a wonderful "home" feel. My wife and I stayed with our 4 children aged 10 and under. Considering price, it was less expensive (and by far more comfortable) to stay in this apartment in Paris, than to rent two hotel rooms outside of Paris. There is not an elevator to this apartment, otherwise it would have received an additional star.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We rented this property near the Place de Cliche for 8 nights in July 2010. We found it to be very clean, well equipped and furnished with interesting objects depicting the owners' travels. We were 8 people in total and filled the 4 bedrooms in the house. The 2 bathrooms were well utilised. The bedrooms and bathrooms were located upstairs and the living areas downstairs. There is a large lounge room, a separate dining room, kitchen and a laundry containing a washing machine/dryer and a drying area. Separate toilets are located both upstairs and downstairs. Access to the apartment is via several flights of stairs. The location is fantastic - Monmartre is closeby, the department stores' Galeries Lafayette and Printemps are approximately an easy 15 minutes walk as is the railway station Saint Lazare (catch a train to Versaille). A 30 minute walk will take you to the Louvre and Champs Elysee. Supermarkets, bakers, bars and restaurants can be found right outside the door. A member of our family left behind some photographs in the apartment. The owners diligently searched for these photographs and returned them to us at their own cost. I would recommoend this apartment as a comfortable base for exploring the delights of Paris!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
