Charming cottage centrally located, 12 minutes from downtown KC, 5-6 minutes from Country Club Plaza. Mixed quaint neighborhood with shops, homes and businesses most of which are within walking distances in nice weather. Brookside, just 1minute away, is an old fashioned English Tudor style neighborhood of small boutiques and restaurants. Waldeaux Cottage is decorated in Country French decor with two queen beds and a set of twin beds. Healthy, gourmet organic meals can be provided by prior arrangement. Spa/salon services can be arranged for couples or girls getaways or bridal attendants in the separately locked off & separate entrance to an intimate salon. Salon is located in the lower level of the home and is by appointment only. Spa packages with discounts for multiple services can be arranged. (Presentations Salon & Rx Day Spa) I offer workshops on how to make your own basic skin care from the kitchen and the garden. If you book a stay at any of my properties, and send in a $25.00 membership in to Slow Food, I will give you $25.00 of Spa services/products of my choice. Slow Food is an international organization that promotes local food sources and teaches nutrition to underprivileged children in inner city as well as other non-political nutritional pursuits. I have three furnished vacation rental in the Kansas City area.

We stayed in the cottage with two kids and two dogs. It was great for all of us. The Waldo area has a lot of places to eat and drink within walking distance. We walked for coffee, breakfast, dinner etc. The whole neighborhood was pet friendly, even including dog bone dishes outside of some local businesses. Plus--there is a doggy day care just across the way if you want to check your dogs in for the day. Kathy, the owner was very accommodating during our stay. We have children with food allergies so we cooked at least two meals a day and found the kitchen to be stocked sufficiently. We would definitely stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? My business partner and I stayed at the cottage for a week. The beds are super comfortable. The living space works well. When we travel we love to be able to cook for ourselves, the kitchen is really well equipped. Although we did go out a couple times and found great restaurants within a few blocks from the cottage. The cottage has a very relaxed comfortable feeling. The bonus is the owner Kathy is warm, welcoming, accommodating, and overall a very nice person. I will definitely stay a the cottage again.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife, dog and I stayed at the cottage for 11 nights. It was a very pleasant experience. It's a small older house, but very clean and well kept. The yard was small but completely enclosed and great for our dog. It was a very easy walk to several nearby coffee shops, restaurants and bars. The Brookside area and the Country Club Plaza are a very short drive away. When we return to Kansas City, we would definately consider staying here again - and if we return with our dog we wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: I have tried to create an in-town space to have pampering services, ideal for an out of town wedding party and a place to stay. This home is convenient to many cultural events and attractions. Perennial flower beds in both the front and on the large patio in backyard provide a welcoming feel and can open up opportunities for intimate gatherings. There is complete privacy for the overnight guest and the salon client. I only work part time from the lower level. On the other hand, for example, if a bridal party wants to meander from upstairs and downstairs for salon services, the doors can be opened and then enjoy the whole space for pampering.
Why the Owner Chose Kansas City:
The convenient location to shopping, cafes and museums and all activities in the greater Kansas City area. The neighborhood of Brookside/Waldo is just south of the Country Club Plaza area and is only 5-10 minutes away. Most other destinations are within 25-30 minutes away

This is a neighborhood where families walk with their dogs and children. Lots of dining opportunities both low-key and upscale. Spa/salon services can be offered, by appointment.
