We just returned from our stay in this warm and delightful house, where we rested and relaxed in between our forays out into the fog on the hunt for the best oysters on Tomales Bay. The house is truly a modern cabin, both rustic and elegant in a mid-century modern way. We absolutely loved the view, the gorgeous wood decks, and the fireplace (and the well-stocked firewood!). The master bedroom was divine--cozy with a wonderful bed, glorious sheets and comforters. We cooked in the kitchen one night, and we had everything we needed to prepare a gourmet meal. Best of all was the location--overlooking the bay, close to Cowgirl Creamery in Point Reyes Station, oyster farms up and down the bay, and Saltwater restaurant in Inverness (perfection). Will definitely recommend to anyone coming to this stunning area!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I am always a little wary when it comes to unfamiliar houses on vrbo. However, your home could not have been more perfect. It was everything I had hoped it would be, creating the stage for a very special birthday weekend. The view was spectacular, and we really enjoyed the well-supplied kitchen, the fireplace and the hot tub. Thank you so much!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This house is quite special. I agree with the other reviews, the photos do not do this house justice. It is an architectural piece with multiple levels, lots of light, great views and many gathering spaces all set in a beautiful clearing in the forest with a small lawn, BBQ area and wrap around decks on the view/bay side. We had a family reunion for my mother's 75th birthday and had a wonderful time. Although there are only two bedrooms, the "lower living room" has two singe beds and a pull out couch, so we had plenty of space. This house is immaculate and beautifully cared for. It is NOT you typical rental, all the amenities are as as if provided by a home owner for themselves. The Kitchen is very well stocked with nice pots, pans, knives, coffee maker etc... My mother and I love to cook together so we actually brought many of our own supplies only to find we did not need them. One last note, Shell beach is just a 15 minute walk down the hill. This is a beautiful beach on the bay which usually has better weather than the ocean side beaches as the fog is often held back by the ridge to the west. And you often have this beach all to yourself. Very nice.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

The photos don't quite give the house proper justice. After feeling a little wary, when the house came in to view after the long driveway I couldn't stop smiling. It's perfect! Amazing natural environment (saw a buck and two baby dear in the driveway at one point) and perfect comfort level in the house, including way better decor than I'd expected. Cute teak dinning set, great house layout, functional information and directions for everything without taking away from feeling homey. View is amazing, hot tub is the perfect touch, and Point Reyes Station (closest small town) is so cute it's silly. Go to the Pine Cone Diner & Cowgirl Creamery! Great hikes close by, lots of beaches. Took the dog running on the local streets some mornings and the neighborhood is adorable. Perfect!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

A beautiful, secluded, house tucked away at the end of a dirt road. You get the sense that you are far away from everything, even though you're less than two hours from San Francisco. This is a great open house with multiple levels so you can easily have a group of 10 or 11. We enjoyed oysters on the bbq... a hot tub overlooking Tomales Bay... and we were close to beautiful Abbots Lagoon, one of my favorite spots in Point Reyes. Totally perfect for a ladies weekend - we hope to come back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This is the perfect place if you are looking for peace, tranquility and comfort. The house has wonderful big windows with amazing views, and is filled with light. The bed in the master bedroom is extremely comfortable. There is a large deck with hot tub, and a lovely garden that was filled with foxgloves and lilies when we were there in May. I would highly recommend this beautiful place.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
