What is special about this house? Well, it is the kind of place you would want to live in, not just crash in. Did you know that Ocean Lakes has a size limit for houses? Our home is the maximum size allowed and has 4 bedrooms. So if you see houses that boast 6 or 7 bedrooms, you will know that those houses have tiny bedrooms. We looked at a lot of houses in Ocean Lakes, and this one just has a floor plan that flows nicely. All bedrooms have their own sink and vanity too, so it takes away a lot of those arguments over bathroom use. Less stress is better! We also love that this house had an upstairs den with a day bed. It is very popular with the kids when they are not outside enjoying the resort. The kids enjoy watching cable TV, or playing games upstairs, while the adults enjoy the first floor.
Outside, the house boasts two porches. The first floor porch is a huge wrap-around and has covered and uncovered areas. Enjoy the sun, or shade. It is your choice. You get to the 2nd floor porch through French doors in the den. This porch is very high, so you can see to the ocean when the leaves are off the trees. We like to watch fireworks from there, shot off at the beach. This house is located on the circle of a cul-de-sac, so kids can play safely out of traffic, while you grill outside, prepare meals in a well stocked kitchen, or relax on the porch. There is a table and chairs outside on the porch too, and a picnic table in the yard, by the lake, shaded by a palm tree. The lake had a lighted fountain at night and sometimes, you can see turtles, and swans. Our boys caught 45 fish in the lake one day, and released them back into the lake at the end of the day for the next person to catch. There is plenty of parking under the house, and on hot summer days, that helps keep your car cool. There is an outlet to recharge golf carts if you care to rent one from Ocean Lakes Rentals. This home does not come with a golf cart.
The one mile of private beach is a short walk from this house, and very easy to find. You just walk out of the cul-de-sac, and hang a left. Follow Sea Oats Road down to the beach. You have the Myrtle Beach Resort Tiki Bar right there to your left. To the south you can take a long walk to Surfside Beach pier, and enjoy an amazing casual meal at River City Cafe while enjoying the view. When you get back from the beach, there is a spacious outdoor shower enclosure with hot and cold running water located behind the house. Guests tell us they love being able to let their kids shower off out there after they get all sandy from the beach. The recreation center, pools, and arcade are all within walking distance too. If you don’t like to walk, you can take bikes, rent bikes or rent a golf cart. Best of all, this is all in a gated community, so you can relax, feeling sure that Ocean Lakes security is working to keep the resort safe.

We had a wonderful time staying at this house. The location is perfect. Very quiet area. We could let the young kids ride their scooters, ripsticks, and bikes around the cul-de-sacs and not worry about them. By bike or golfcar, it's a very quick trip to the beach or anywhere else we wanted to go (Sandy's, the pool, etc.). We had concerns before we went about parking, but with 3 large vehicles, there was more than ample room. We did not do any fishing since the neighbors were home and we would have had to use their yard to gain access to the lake behind the house. But that was ok. We had plenty to keep us busy. We brought a bags game with us and the area in front of the house was perfect for that.Tim is very friendly and easy to work with. My only complaint was no ESPN (not that I like to watch TV on vacation, but I would have liked to watch the HR Derby Monday night.) We had 2 families with 3 and 2 kids and a set of grandparents this year. We put 3 kids in the bunk room and 2 in the "den" on the futon/trundle combo, which worked perfectly. If we have similar numbers next year, we will definitely look up Tim again to stay here. Very nice place. Thanks.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

I stayed at this house with my family several times. The home is in cul-de-sac with very little traffic. Pretty little lake with a fountain is right next to the house. The rooms are much bigger in this house than in other houses I've stayed in at Ocean Lakes. The kitchen has tons of dishes, pots and pans. Loved the porches and when it rained the stairway to the house is covered to keep you dry. It was great to have a washer and dryer. The landscaping was very pretty. Plenty of covered parking under the house.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

Hi Tim, Thank you so much for letting us stay at your vacation home last week. It went by way to fast. We all had a wonderful time and as you can see from pictures of my son especially the one heading home, he had a blast. We loved the home, especially the location and would like to ask if you would consider us for letting us rent it next year? If we could just let me know how to move forward with deposit to reserve it for that week, and we can go ahead and start putting our funding together for payment. Your location was perfect for our son b/c it allowed him to ride his bike and I didn’t have to worry about him at all getting in somebody’s way. Please let me know your thoughts, but we really would like to stay again there next year, the dates would be June 9-16th, 2012….if you are okay with us booking this far in advance I will go ahead and send you a deposit to hold for us. Thank you again for everything, Take care, SuzanneDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Hi, We joke that one day we will leave the rat race behind and rent beach chairs and umbrellas in Myrtle Beach. We love the beach, music, and South Carolina. We plan to retire to our home at Ocean Lakes one day.
Why the Owner Chose 6000 Section:
When we decided to look at beach properties, we started in in Ocean City Maryland, but it was too cold and crowded, and we would have been stuck with a condo. We then looked in Virginia Beach, but same problems, and not much to do. Then we looked in North Carolina. The climate was better, but not much to do. We then tried South Carolina, Myrtle Beach and fell in love with it. There is so much to do for everyone in the family and the climate is great. Ocean Lakes is awesome! The people living there year round are so friendly, the security is great so we don't worry about our boys. Their recreation staff always has activities planned for the kids to keep them busy, and most activities are absolutely free. Ocean Lakes is its own little town, with everything we need right there.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When staying our our beach home, we really enjoy our huge porches. The top porch is covered, and is so high you get a great view. The bottom porch is huge, with part covered, and part uncovered, so you can feel the sun on your face or get out of the sun when you've had too much. My husband and I can watch the boys play below us in the cul-de-sac, away from traffic. We enjoy easy access to the beach. We just come out of our cul-de-sac, turn left and it is pretty much a five minute walk, past the duck pond and down. I also love the parking under the house, keeps the car cool, and on rainy days, you really appreciate that the stairs are also covered, so you don't get wet. We love the big, open floor plan on the first floor, so we have lots of family time, but the boys can go up to the den to watch TV and play games when we want some adult time.
