You'll wake up to the beauty of the sun rising over Taos Mountain and go to sleep under a canopy of stars. No traffic noises will disturb you in this pastoral setting, but you might hear coyotes singing at night, or even catch sight of one running through the fields in the early morning light. Our guesthouse is only about a mile from the picturesque village of Arroyo Seco, where you can shop, or enjoy a latte or an ice cream at The Cow, or grab some groceries at Sol Foods. It's 10 miles from the excitement of Taos Ski Valley and eight miles from the galleries, restaurants, Taos Pueblo, and other amenities of Taos. But you'll be in your own peaceful world when you're here.
The spacious one bedroom casita is comfortably furnished, with everything you'll need to feel at home. You'll relish the Southwestern feeling of this adobe house with its viga and latilla ceilings, tile floors and plastered walls. The owners are right next door to welcome you when you arrive, and will be happy to give you some 'insider' tips about the area to make your vacation even more memorable.

As a family of 4, this guesthouse was perfect! The children had their own sleeping spaces in the living room and my husband and I had our own bedroom. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is also a great location, being in between the ski valley and the town - so you have the best of both worlds! For these amazing accomodations, the rate is very reasonable - another added plus! The owner David was very hospitable and made sure that we had everything we needed. Our children enjoyed playing in the snow in the front yard, and David was very friendly and made a point to talk with them about their stay. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at this casita. It is clean, light-filled, roomy, and well-appointed. It is quite convenient to a number of good hiking trails and to Taos. We loved being able to see mountains out the windows when we were lying in bed. Just as important as everything else, the owners are very nice people.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: My wife Kathleen and I have lived here in Arroyo Seco for almost thirty years. I have built many houses in the area during my career as a contractor. Kathleen has taught a generation of school kids. We raised our own kids here and have a lot of family in the area. We wouldn't live anywhere else because we love the mountains, the skies, the river and the wide open spaces of Northern New Mexico. Now that I am retired I am pursuing a second career as a wildlife photographer.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The mountains and rivers of Northern New Mexico are right outside your door to enjoy, whether you prefer the excitement of the ski slopes or the tranquility of the back country during the winter. In the summer you can raft down Class IV rapids on the Rio Grande, hike the high mountains, fish the streams, take a ride in a hot air balloon over the gorge. Art lovers will delight in the variety of creativity here. And then there is always Taos Pueblo to enjoy.
