  My wife and I drove down from S.C., with boat in tow. We love the keys and found this house to be wonderful. The cottage is newly renovated and the interior appears to be all brand new. Everything we needed was there for our use. We love to fish and have fished the keys for years. We always fish from our own boat, never using the local guides. Anyone who works from their own boat will find this place very accommodating. The dock is literally the back porch of the house. When you dock your boat you never worry about the security of your gear. Not having to unload your gear every night to "lock it up" is a nice thing. The dock offers deep water at any tide. When you dock after a fishing trip you have a fresh water hose on the dock to wash your equipment down. The dock is well lighted making this task easy to accomplish night or day. The dock is located in a protected "lagoon" so no waves are banging on your boat at any time. You will find a nice fish cleaning table on the dock and an outside refrigerator/freezer in a utility room that is perfect for storing bait/chum/ice and drinks for your next trip out. There is a barrel tied off to the dock to hold live bait in during your stay. Located a stones throw from this cottage is a store with a fuel dock. You can stock up on bait, ice, drinks and fuel your boat before ever leaving the "lagoon". When you do pull out of the "lagoon", deep water is a short boat ride away ( 15 min. to the reef). If you like to fish the flats, you can start fishing immediately. Some of the best tarpon fishing in the world is within view of the house. I only brought a sixteen foot flats boat down this year (the dock will accommodate a much larger boat). We killed the fish in the flats and on the reef. Fishing from the dock and the bridge was also great on windy days when I could not take my small boat out! You will find everything you need in Marathon only ten minuets away ( Wallgrenes, K mart, Winn Dixie, etc.). If you are looking for great food I must recommend a restaurant called the Wreck. The Wreck is about five minutes away toward Marathon on the right. If you like sub standard food I must recommend Keys Fisheries in Marathon, we will not eat there again. We flew our two children down to join us for the last week. Both of them are dying to return. We will be staying here for the entire month of April next year!!!! I am a fisherman, if you are you will love this place, if you are not, you will also love this place.

  We just arrived back home one day ago from a great vacation in the Florida Keys. The most important thing to us, other than it was sunny every day, was the wonderful home we stayed in. It was a very clean and well maintained, everything was exactly the way it was explained and more. The owners were wonderful people to deal with and we will certainly be contacting them on our next vacation to the Florida Keys!!!

  Christmas/New Year, 2009 was our first stay here, for 2010 we have already paid our deposit. We had everything we needed during our last stay except a recipe book to cook the fresh lobster we purchased from the fisherman around the block. This property was an excellent choice, clean and well equipped. The owner thought of everthing from bikes and fishing equipment to kitchen spices, there was nothing we missed. My only hesitation to recommend this property is that it will not be available when we want it. The pics do not do this property justice. Our plans have already been made for the 2010 visit and most likely 2011 will be under way soon.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.
