Welcome to Hideaway Cabin; set atop the mountain at 4400 ft on 10 pristine acres of endless views and creek flowing through. This oasis is located on the Big Ridge section of the Blue Ridge Mountains, conveniently located near Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Hideaway offers rustic ambiance yet boasts 6 bedrooms and 3 full baths all decorated in an authentic mountain theme. Our guests rave over the size of our mountainside home! At 4400ft, it never needs air conditioning!(But we do have it!) 2 bedrooms, 1 bath up, king size master suite and bath on the main level and and 3 bedrooms, 1 bath down. Full kitchen completely outfitted for cooking great mountain meals & a kitchenette on the lower level; perfect for two families enjoying vacation together. Hideaway is also fenced adjacent to the house so you can relax while the kids play.
Hardwood floors throughout the house but the best part is the full covered rocking chair front porch with breathtaking view, old fashioned porch swing and 2 bird feeders which feed many of our beautiful feathered friends. Wildlife enthusiasts truly enjoy the many wildlife species who share Hideaway with us. Many times we have seen deer leaping through the forest! (NO HUNTING!)
We have a cozy and convenient electric fireplace in the main level family room with satellite TV and the lower level family room is complete with Satellite TV and stereo.
Our master suite is located on the main level and is complete with sitting area, satellite TV and gorgeous views of five mountain ranges! In fact, it's hard to find a room in Hideaway Cabin that doesn't have a beautiful view!
For those of you who just love to sit around a fire and renew your spirit (we do!) there is an old fashioned wood burning fire pit right out the back door overlooking the mountains.
Throw some logs on the fire and relax your soul! Then roast some marshmallows and drink some hot chocolate. This is the type of retreat experience memories are made from! Lie in bed at night with the windows open and listen to the owls hoot and the stream rush down the mountains.
This is a full retreat experience for those who love skiing, (Beech is 9 miles away), wildlife, scenery, hiking, and privacy that only ten acres of your own can offer you! Hike down and play in the beautiful stream on the property! Look out the window and don't be surprised to see deer passing through, as well as many other native wildlife. You won't want to leave! This area gets a LOT of snowfall during the winter and a 4 wheel drive, and or chains may be necessary!!!! Our driveway is perfect for sledding, which means it is steep! (The hike back up is sure to get you in shape!!)
There are antiques scattered throughout the home as well as old fashioned "mountain" furniture! (We make up the beds for you and you bring your towels.) Play a game of chess or an old fashioned game of checkers; just some of the many games we have available in the house. Bring your entire family to our Hideaway Cabin and reconnect with each other. You'll never forget it!
Go visit Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, the beautiful Linville Gorge...all the local attractions of the high country are available to you! We are located between Boone and Banner Elk so we are close to everything! Just 5 minutes off of 321!

First of all your home was PERFECT !! We loved the floor plan.... No one felt on top of the other. The furnishing were GREAT!! Beds were comfy!! :) !! I slept in and loved the ... antique wrought-iron double bed upstairs. And the view was MAGNIFICENT!!
Your pictures do not do the house justice. It was much more beautiful than we imagined. :) !! We had a fabulous time! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
