We had a hard time finding a place that would accomdate our whole family and still feel cozy. This place gave us enough room for everyone. It was so peaceful and had a wonderful view. We had a great experience, and the owner was very helpful when we had questions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Had our family reunion at Casa Laguna. Family members came from all ends of the country to this great central place. Wonderful house and plenty to do within driving distance for all ages. The laughter and memories will never be forgotten. Would recommend to others. We had been looking around for a place large enough to accommodate 26 (10 adults 16 children). This home really fit the bill. We went on day hikes, river wading, rec. center swimming etc. during the day and then had family time together at this wonderful home in the evening. The large back deck served great for our barbecuing, picture taking and just enjoying the view over the lake. There was plenty of space for our large family to spread out and have your own space and yet gather together for activities. I would recommend this area and home for any type of large gathering. It worked out just great for us. The happy 26.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

There were 26 of us from 3 months old to 87. We celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary, enjoyed hanging out on the deck, in the great room, and in the media room. We have been doing a family reunion vacation for the past 3 years - this was the first year at Casa Laguna. Before two days before we left a "vote" was taken to do it again next year...at the same place. There was so much to do in the Pagosa Springs area as well as great enjoyment of the home. Thanks for making it available for others to enjoy.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

This is a great house that worked well for our group (six families). Plenty of bedrooms. Kids loved the pool table and big screen. There are two separate TV areas: we used one for the kids and the other for the adults. Plenty of washers and dryers. 2 septate kitchens. Great for a large group. Located 5 miles from town. Nice community. Drive took 40 minutes to get to Wolf Creek Resort. Would definitely stay there again when skiing Wolf Creek.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This home was more than we could have imagined. My 14 & 17 yr. old as well as my grown up kids & their spouses went through the house upon our arrival yelling at everybody else to come see this room and oh my gosh you've got to see this. My youngest daughter said " I'm so excited about this I don't even know what to do." The home is beautiful and absolutely perfect for a large gathering. The location was perfect. We went skiing at Wolf Creek, shopping in Pagosa and rode the Polar Express in Durango. The home is very warm & cozy. There's room for the kids to play games & hang out without bothering those that want to relax & enjoy a movie. The owner was very thoughtful. He called us a couple of times to make sure everything was ok and if there was anything we needed. He also wanted to make sure we were warm enough. I must say being warm in this home was never a problem. We have already ask to reserve it next christmas.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented this home for our family Christmas December 8-11, 2012. It was exactly as listed and there were 23 of us and everyone had a wonderful time. Anything that we needed was available there for our use. The children had such a good time that they never left the house the first day and then the second day they sledded down the hill onto the lake. I wanted to have a special place for the family to be and this certainly exceeded anything I had expected. The house is beautiful and very clean and well maintained. When we decide to go out of town for another holiday, this is certainly where we will take our family. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My daughter wanted a wedding in the mountains in the Fall and this beautiful home and setting was perfect. We housed both sides (bride and groom) of the immediate families to include siblings, parents and grandparents for a perfect fit. The wedding was held on the deck and the house was used for the reception following the wedding with approx 90 guests. I highly recommend for a fun filled wedding weekend and family vacation. The place is much nicer than the pictures depict. In addition, the owners are great to work with and helped to make this a very special weekend for our families.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Choosing Casa Laguna at Pagosa Springs was a real winner for our family. 25 of us had a wonderful & comfortable time at this great place. It was just right for us as a base for exploration and enjoyment of the many attractions found in the area - hiking, horseback riding, tubing, fishing, ancient ruins, the springs, side trips to many attractions and scenery. Many thanks for the use of this facility.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family has stayed at over 7 places for large family reunions and this one was their favorite. The house provided the perfect retreat for 6 young families and there was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen which was very well stocked and some even used the additional kitchen. We loved the magnificent view of the mountains and lake and everyone took their turn on the canoe. We found many things to do in the area including two easy but beautiful waterfall hikes, lakes, the springs, the wildlife park and enjoyed the town's many pathways and trails. Everyone took a trip to Mesa Verde before or after the trip. The family had plenty of room to gather for games, treasure hunts, crafts and just sheer relaxing. The boys loved the pool table. We wished we would've had a couple more days here, or longer!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

We originally chose this home because it had one bedroom for handicap accessibility because my mother-in-law was supposed to join us who is 95 years old. She wasn't able to make the trip, however, we are so glad we still chose this house for our family. The photos do not do this home justice & all of things that we had planned on doing like rafting, going to spend a day at the springs, eating out, did not happen! Simply because we enjoyed the house so much for our group of 21 people that we ate every meal in, took walks everyday, played numerous games & just spent a lot of family time together!! A few members of our family did take the train to Silverton & they had a great time. I wish my own kitchen was as well stocked as your kitchen. Best accommodations ever!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Our grroup of Native American Flute players has been meeting for a week of peaceful music and friendship for four years. This place was absolutely wonderful. Our professional cook was threatening to move in and become part of the rental -- the kitchen was his idea of heaven in a house. We truly can't say enough about the home, and the owner is very easy to work with, and made the whole process smooth with no suprises.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and extended family members (24 of us) spent 4 nights over New Years weekend at Casa Laguna. We had a wonderful time just relaxing and visiting. Our ages ranged from 92 years to 3 years of age. This house had something for every age group to enjoy. The house was so spacious that we never felt crowded or in each other's way, even with such a large group. Everyone we dealt with in securing this house was so gracious and accommodating. We even arrived in time to meet the caretakers of this property and they were so kind and helpful. My family has stayed at several different properties through the years, but we have never stayed at a property with so many amenities. It was as if our every need for comfort was known ahead of time and provided for before we arrived. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for comfort and enjoyment. You will not be disappointed.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I, along with our three sons and their families (15 total) had a wonderful time at Casa Laguna! We have taken may vacations as a family, but have never stayed in a place we enjoyed as much as we did here! Nor have we ever stayed in a place that met our needs/desires as much as the Casa Laguna. Each couple was able to enjoy the privacy of having their own bedroom and bathroom! And the kids had their bedrooms with TV's! The house was very clean and well cared for. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need for preparing meals for a large family. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were way more than adequate. We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place to stay! The atmosphere of the house was a great bonus!! It was absolutely beautiful and inviting! Even the pictures on the web site didn't do it justice! We had all planned on skiing three full days, but most of us only skied two 1/2 days! Nobody skied three full days! We ate together as a family each meal! We played games and cards together. We enjoyed the fireplaces and just had a wonderful time together! The teenagers especially enjoyed the pool table, the large screen TV and the sound system! The toddlers even enjoyed the toys provided for them! They didn't play with the toys we took. :-) And the view was fabulous! We even had the pleasure of watching two fox from the large picture windows in the living room! One actually sat on the deck railing and posed for us to take his picture! :-) The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish! The owner was very gracious in answering all the questions we had in a VERY timely manner before our arrival. Directions were very exact and easy to follow. I can't think of a thing that would have made our vacation more enjoyable! I would recommend the Casa Laguna to anybody. I am looking forward to returning in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a great trip! We just got back from a week long vacation in Pagosa with 15 people and this house was the highlight! There is no way to describe the beauty and functionality of this house. After skiing all day, we made dinner and stayed in. No one ever felt crowded or ran out of things to do. All the beds were comfortable with plenty of linens and towels. I have stayed in several houses and this was the first time I felt like a place had everything I could ever need, from the kitchen utensils to the snow shovel! And of course... the view was just breathtaking! We enjoyed watching the snow fall during breakfast and playing on the frozen lake. (we don't see that at all back home) The owner was very friendly and made everything very easy. He was easy to get a hold of and very quick to respond to any questions. We can't wait to go back. I love going to Pagosa but now I just want to go back to stay in the house. :) Anyone booking this house will not be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Better than described! Pictures don't do this home justice! The home, property, the views, etc. beautiful. Everything clean as a whistle! Fine linens. The beds were so comfortable we sneaked a peek at the brand to purchase for ourselves when we got home. We had a family group of 15 members for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Plenty of room for everyone and each had their own bath rooms. (And the laundry rooms were handy too.) We enjoyed the wood burning stoves every evening.(Plenty of wood) We saw many different kinds of wildlife. Foxes came up to the back deck every morning and evening. We saw deer, and bald eagles that caught fish from right out of the lake, muskrats in the water, ducks, and a neighborhood kitty that we dubbed "Marmalady" would come to visit. A neighbors three legged dog (we dubbed him Tripod) was fun to watch as the foxes out foxed him in a friendly chase. We went hiking nearby off of Piedra road to some falls with breathtaking scenery. The fall colors were glorious. (In the fall check out the Blanco Basin drive for beautiful aspen color.) Caught several trout and bass in the reservoir and have the pics to prove it. No fish stories!!! They were more than pan sized, but we simply caught and released. (Make sure you get your permits nearby for a nominal fee) The two kitchens came in handy as my niece has Celiac (gluten intolerance) and so it made preparing and keeping her food wheat free, easy. All the amenities were grand. The pool table got good use.(Could use some new pool cues, but we managed:)) The owner was great to deal with, answered all our ?'s in a timely and gracious manner and was more than generous in accommodating our needs. We will be back! We didn't want to leave! This was one vacation that was worth every penny!!! And we felt this way even after 8 days together! :) Durango is about 45 min away, Pagosa has plenty of restaurants nearby. Check out the malt shoppe's ice cream while sitting on a deck overlooking the San Juan river and more. And up the road is a great barbeque joint. The nearby grocery store had everything we could want. (olive bar, gluten free deli, etc) We would definetly recommend this to family and friends. You will really be missing out if you don't try this vacation home. Luxury in comfortable surroundings. Thanks again to the owners for making such accommodations available for us to enjoy!!! This is a trip we will never forget.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had many plans of things we wanted to do and see when we were staying in Pagosa Springs, that was until we arrived at this fantastic house. Apart from having a quick lunch in town on the day we arrived and stopping off at a supermarket we didn't leave the house. The house, the setting and everything that was available made our stay very relaxing. The days were spent relaxing on the porch, fishing from the deck and going out in the canoe. No one wanted to go out. Another plus was that we didn't have any phone signal so for the first time in a long time my husband could not be contacted by the office. This was a fault of our British phones and it was fantastic. The house is so comfortable and looking out on the lake as the sun set is truly wonderful. We will have to come back a I still want to do all that stuff in Pagossa Springs.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

The setting for our family vacation (19 people in all - age 5 - 72!) could not have been more perfect. The listing description and photos of Casa Laguna do not do it justice. The house is just so amazing that words and photos are not enough to describe the wonderful feeling we all got by being there. The house is so large and spacious that it never felt crowded and there was always somewhere to get away to when you wanted. The adults loved the private bedrooms and bathrooms. Very comfortable beds. The kids loved the loft space outside the bunk rooms - it was set up with a Wii for their own private gaming area! The pool table provided lots of fun and laughter as most everyone joined in a game during our stay. We greatly enjoyed the large kitchen space and the double refrigerators came in handy with our large group. The media room was awesome and the selection of DVD's was great. The family enjoyed piling in there and watching movies. The large dining table was also wonderful - lots of time was spent there playing games in the evening. A lot of time was spent on the deck enjoying the views, reading and, of course, grilling. The canopy on the deck protected us from the daily afternoon rains. The area around the house was great for walks. Being right on the lake and having access to a dock and canoe was really outstanding! The kids all caught fish! Obtaining the fishing licenses was painless. The Rec Center pool was very clean, good sized and only a 10 minute drive away. The nearby trails provided a lot of good mountain biking. The house is easy driving distance to town, grocery store, hot springs, etc. Also within easy distance to waterfalls and great mountain scenary. We had a few questions when we got there about getting the TV's to work (a bit complicated) but the owner was quickly reached by phone and our questions resolved. The property appears very well taken care of and was very clean upon our arrival. We would definately recommend Laguna House to our friends and would love to go back and enjoy it again ourselves.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
