We had the most wonderful stay at the Clahane Lodge. The house overlooks the sea and the view is breathtaking. It is beautifully decorated and was the perfect spot for our wedding! The owner was extremely helpful in providing us with a wedding planner and other fun things to do near by. We could not have had a better time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great week at Clahane Lodge. Our stay spanned generations: newborn baby and elderly grandmother. This beautiful home in County Clare was comfortable for all of us. The decor and amenities are top-notch. The views of the atlantic and Clare hills are fantastic. Our little ones especially enjoyed the sand pit in the contained yard. We were able to relax and enjoy catching up with relatives. Liscannor is a great little village. Egan's pub was a favorite as was Vaughns restaurant. I would highly recommend for groups looking to get away, relax and enjoy catching up.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

One of the nicest houses I have ever rented for a vacation. Everything is perfect. Waking up to the ocean every morning can't be beat. Our kids loved climbing around the rocks and search the tiding pools for shrimp, crabs and other sea creatures. Brendan is awesome and will help you with whatever is needed. The pictures are great but when you get to the house it will exceed your expectations. If 6 stars existed I would give it 6 stars.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed at Clahane house with my husband and three children for a week in February. We were joined by family members (grandparents, aunt and uncle) during our stay. As irish natives , now living in the USA we knew the area well and wanted a large well equipped house in a good location for sight seeing - Clahane house did not disappoint. It was large enough to hold our family reunion with a large well equipped kitchen, a large dining table to host great family gatherings, the children loved the kids room and wonderful evenings were spent in the spacious living area. The bedrooms blew us away - and each had its own bathroom. The house is perfectly located for visiting the cliffs of Moher, the Burren , Limerick and Galway. The owner provides a welcome pack with recommended sights and restaurants before the visit- we visited all the sights and quite a few of the restaurants (Vaughans in Liscannor is exceptional) - everything was wonderful. We must also thank Brendan for being so flexible in letting us check in early and out late and being so accommodating throughout our visit. The children loved the rock pools right across the road from the house and the views are absolutely spectacular. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this house to friends .Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We were a mixed family group with grandparents, parents, kids and 2 dogs. Even when the weather was poorer the kids didn't complain as there was enough entertainment for them. It was great having all three generations together. The location was remote enough to enjoy superb ocean views yet close enough to many local attractions. I would agree with everything the previous reviewers have said about the house and it's location. Brendan and his wife were charming. The house itself was ideal for an extended-family holiday. Even the dogs had a fantastic time!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The last week (24/4/2011 - 1/5/2011) I had a trip to Ireland with a group of photographers. I found this house on "home away" and booked it because of the pictures and the nice feedback of the others. This house should be "a dream", so the other families. No, it is not. It is SO much better! It is not a dream, it is reality! This house fulfills all wishes. It is large, it is friendly, it is really comfortable, everything you need exists! From the high quality TVs, players, radios up to every single little thing in the kitchen. We arrived at the house, very curiously how it will be there - and then we did half an hour only AAAAAHHHH oOOOOOOOH WOOOOW!!!....we had a great time and felt comfortable every minute. The whole house is "automated", there are switches and remotes for nearly everything. My friend and I, we had the room you can see on picture 3 and 5. I felt like a princess - never lived in such luxury! There is place for ten people without a problem. The big room above, under the roof has a big double bed, next to it a little room with one bed, downstairs are two large rooms with double beds and one room with three beds in it. That will be more for younger people but in our group there slept three men in this room and they had much fun! And the view! You look over the sea, in the evening the sun comes through the windows and you can just sit on the couch and watch the sunset. Amazing. The big table is designed for 8 people (8 chairs) but you can take another chair or two. The house is clean, well organized, Maeve, the house-owner is SO friendly! The contact is very uncomplicated and the price you pay for a week is absolutely fair! Brendan, the housekeeper meets you at the house and explains everything. He also is very kind and you feel good and welcome just in the moment you meet him. We didn't want to leave! But not one of our thinkings about "taking the house with us and nobody will notice it" or "locking all doors and be quiet so that everybody thinks, nobody is inside" promised to be a good idea... We really enjoyed it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This review has been long in coming due to our oversight . Our experience with this home was nothing short of perfect. All the steps leading up to our arrival were handled professionally and promptly. All transactions were handled without stress. The pictures did not even come close to capturing the actual quality and beauty of this home. Every room had so many unique touches that called this" house a home". No expense was spared in this home from the kitchen, to the house surround sound and media system, to the lavish master bathroom suite. The owner's brother- Brendan greeted us at the home and made sure that everything was as it should be. He even was able to get a repair on the satellite dish in one day when the salt air and wind knocked it down. The location was very off the beaten path but it was this location that made this home perfect. The Cliffs of Moher were visible in the distance along with a spectacular ocean view. The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep every night. My husband and 2 teenaged son golfed on a great course in Liscannor. Doolin was a quick scenic ride away as were many other sights. Vaughan's (sp?) was a pleasure for dinner as were several other nearby restaurants. All in al,l this home made our holiday to Ireland perfect!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay in Clahane Lodge, the house is beautiful and the location breathtaking, it was such a delight to wake up to the view of the sea every morning and the view can be enjoyed whilst sitting in the lounge or at the dining table or even from over the hob whilst cooking breakfast in the kitchen! Such great care and attention to detail has gone into decorating this house, making it a wonderful place to relax and spend time in, we so enjoyed every minute of our stay. Would highly recommend this house and would love to visit again. A real gem on the coast of Co Clare.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

A magnificent house, luxury all over and views that must be the best of Ireland; the pictures on the website don't even show half of the real experience. A five-bedroom house that is perfectly comfortable and pleasant for even a five-person family. Ancient sites, mountainwalks, beaches, pubs, restaurants, golfcourses all in close range and of great quality. Sure we can fully recommend this house for a perfect stay. And thanks to Brendan for his help....Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

For us, this home had it all; great views and location, luxury but still with a homely feel, and room enough for the 11 of us! The home can't be faulted - it's fantastic, but not sure I want to spread the word in case we can't secure a week for next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The pictures of this home, as lovely as they are, don't capture just how beautiful it is. It is spacious, beautifully furnished and has everything you would want in a home. The kitchen is amazing. The view from the home is spectacular, and the location is great for seeing the Cliffs, Doolin and the Burren. The location is also a good home base for some longer day trips. We went as far as Dingle, Westport, and Cashel and back in a day. But we also we're very happy making ourselves at home in Liscannor. Finally, Brendan couldn't have been more helpful. We would recommend this home to anyone, and hope to come back ourselves one day. Sincerely, Nancy, Judy, Amy, Art and ElizabethRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We have just returned from a one week stay at this magnificent home and wish we could turn around and go back. Everything about this house, from its location on the wild and beautiful coast of Clare to the luxurious accommodations was extraordinary. This is no average rental. The house, recently remodeled, features exceptional detail and high-end appliances/comforts. Take a soak in the tub while gazing out at the crashing surf, enjoy a glass of wine while cooking with two convection ovens, friends chatting at the lovely kitchen island and bar, or sit by the deck while the integrated media system pipes your iPod tunes outside. Maeve and her brother Brendan are excellent hosts, responsive, professional and friendly. My only worry in writing this review is that more people will learn of it :-), but the truth will out and this house is a rare gem.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Clahane Lodge in Liscannor. We found the house online and it surpassed our expectations by a mile! The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated in a very sophisticated and contemporary style. The owner could not have been nicer. Before our arrival, knowing that we were arriving late in the evening, she asked if she could purchase some provisions for us for the morning. What a great connivence to start out our trip with some coffee and breakfast items! When we arrived we were escorted to the house by the owner's brother, who was extremely helpful and very personable! He showed us around the home, gave us tips on our travel plans, and really made us feel at home! The absolute best part was the breath taking views of the water through the large family room windows! Our kids also enjoyed going down to the water and exploring the rocks just a stone's throw away from the house! All in all, it was an amazing vacation one that we will never forget! I would highly recommend this home to anyone planning a vacation to Ireland. I have already personally recommended to many of our friends!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
