We stayed at this property from 6-20 Nov 2011 and had a wonderful holiday! As 2 female friends, we took it in turns between the ultra-comfy bed in the main bedroom and the fold down in the lounge area. As said many times before, the main bed was amazingly comfortable which ensured a great sleep every night. The rental being behind the main house and a very secure remote-controlled gate made you feel you were in a very secluded and quiet spot despite the fact you are so close to the main attractions along Hollywood Boulevard. The underground beneath the W hotel is only a 10 minute walk up Vine Street. McDonalds is literally around the corner, and for Crispy Crust pizza co. turn left on Vine and it's disagonally opposite and they do great pizza's and salads. Pavilions is less then a mile down Vine Street (turn left on leaving the house and left on Vine) and this is a great shop to get all your essentials - just remember to get a Vons card for great savings! The ameneties of the house itself are terrific and just as described in the listing. We had everything we needed for a comfortable 2 week-stay. Having been to LA for 2 weeks a couple of years ago, we were pretty confident of finding our way around and didnt find we had to impose on Scott or Hilliard for assistance but we're pretty sure they would have been more than helpful had we needed their guidance. Loving LA like we do, I'm pretty sure we will be back in the future and would definitely rent this cottage again. We have no hesitation in recommending this to other travellers. A tip for sight-seers - make sure you go on-line and buy a Go-LA card which we did for a 7 day pass and it saved us an absolute fortune getting into all the major attractions. We rented a car but didnt have to use it all that much, apart from more out the way studios etc as the rental as I said, is close to the Hollywood Blvd ones, such as Kodak theatre, Hollywood museum, Madame Tussauds, Hard Rock Cafe, Hollywood & Highland shopping complex and Graumans etc. Even Universal Studios is easily accessible by the red line from Hollywood/Vine to Universal City then the free shuttle bus up to the park itself. All the facilities in the cottage such as the oven/dishwasher/fridge-freezer/washing machine/dryer were brand new and easy to operate. We had a fabulous time and I'm sure you will too!!

Can I start by saying Thank You so much to Scott for having such a wonderful home and renting it out. Our stay was short but definetly sweet... Everything has been thought out in this well equiped appartment. The location was amazing as we didint have a car but it was still with in easy walking distance to the subway which we used a lot, everyone is very helpful . The local buses are also very convenient to the apartment. The apartment what can I add that others havnt... it was well thought out and so comfortable to come home to after a long day of sightseeing. The restaurants near by are also fantastic ... we only wish our stay was longer... but will defenitly come back... Thank You again

We were so pleased with our stay from start to finish. We were met when we arrived by the Owners, first Hilliard & later, Scott. They were both very pleasant. Hilliard showed us around and explained all about the place. He couldn't have been nicer. Such a sweetheart. The bungalow was just a perfect setting for a nice vacation away from home. It is tastefully decorated, even better in person, then the pictures. Everything you could possibly need away from home, they provided. Everything was super clean and well maintained. Very nice soft, plush towels. We even had laundry detergent, if needed. The bed...wow...don't get me started. Like sleeping on a cloud. And those sheets...I have to get some! You have your own private parking in front of the bungalow, behind an automatic gate. The little patio area was very cute & private. Everything imaginable was close by. Like within 3 miles. And LAX around 10 miles. We were lucky enough to go to the Ellen Degeneres show, 2 1/2 Men taping, and the Late, Late, show with Craig Ferguson. But get your tickets before you leave home. These were all very close by. Make sure to try the restaurant 'Off Vine' that Hilliard & Scott recommend. We also highly recommend the 'Smokehouse' located directed next door to Warner Bros. parking gate #3. You can't miss going up to the Griffin Observatory roof. Great View! The best way to see the 'Hollywood' Sign is up Beachwood Dr.- ( Go through the gates at end, park, and climb to top of hill.) Fabulous views! Thank-You to Scott & Hilliard for providing us with a fabulous little home away from home. Much, much better than a hotel & very personable! Highly, highly recommend. Would give 10 out of 10 Stars, if I could!

With so many positive reviews already written I want to confirm the many positive observations about this charming rental apartment - the setting is one of the main attractions, very attractive street with set back historic homes in garden landscapes. The house is in the heart of Hollywood, possible to walk to many attractions, and yet has a quiet and peaceful environment. The property is very well presented and managed, and spotlessly clean. Everything so far as I can see has been thought about and one's needs anticipated - the decor is attractive, classically modern and comfortable, and the house has tv in main living room and bedroom and there are many original features, including the patio with barbecue, the private and secluded walkway leading tonthe side and rear from the living room and illuminated with pretty lights at night time. The kitchen, which is part of the main room, is very well equipped and gleaming with smart decor and ganite tops - modern gas cooker microwave and dishwasher all easy to use. The bathroom, so important to all travellers and visitors, is well laid out with attractive fittings in white, including the bath /shower. Instant hot water is available at all times. there are ample nice towels and the bedding is as welcoming as the large stylish bed. The detailed description is accurate on the website as are the photographs - other facilities include a clothes washer and dryer, which I did not use on a short visit. Parking off street is convenient - travellers from the UK should note that if you decide to park on the street you must park in the direction of all the other traffic, the same as all the other cars unlike in the UK when you can usually choose your parking direction - be warned, you will incur a penalty if you do not observe this rule. Scott and Hilliard are perfect hosts and are available very quickly if assistance/advice is needed. The cleaning staff do great job and are helpful and easy to talk with if you meet them. I cannot find any negatives - this experience in the heart of Hollywood was a joy and I was sorry to leave after too short a stay - I will certainly want to return and am checking out the other properties managed/owned by Scott. Don't miss this jewel and have a happy stay, as I did.

If we’re going to be honest, we did not want to write a recommendation for the bungalow. Also, we would like to remove some of the existing recommendations. That’s because we don’t want to share this AMAZING vacation rental!! It is impossible not to be inspired to praise every aspect of this lovely bungalow. The grounds are beautifully maintained, front and back. Walking up the driveway is a welcoming prelude to the little piece of heaven that awaits. The security gate works wonderfully and adds to the feeling of comfort. The driveway and sitting area outside the bungalow are easy to use and relaxing. Once you enter the bungalow itself, the feelings of relaxation just wash over you. Like pages from a magazine each space is tastefully decorated and well arranged. The kitchen, dining area and living room are comfortable and easy to use. The dishwasher and laundry machines work perfectly and are easily accessible. The bedroom has ample storage and truly, the MOST comfortable bed we have ever encountered. Whether you open the windows for the wonderful cross breeze, or use the air conditioners, the temperature rarely varies from perfect. The included cable and WiFi work perfectly and provide plenty of entertainment for a quiet evening in. However, whether you explore by foot or car the offerings are endless. Just a few of the sites within a few blocks include the Arclight Cinema (a must), 24 hour Fitness (they offer day passes), Amoeba Music Store (WOW!!!), and , of course, Hollywood Boulevard. The Metro is a few blocks away and easy to use. Also, within a few blocks, we discovered a number of excellent dining options: Tender Greens (great salads), Bowery (great pub/restaurant), Fabiolus Cafe (Italian Café), and Café Entourage (we had lunch). Oh, and the donut place on the corner has a nice cup of coffee!! Also, we have to HIGHLY recommend Scott as an owner. He is patient, understanding, professional, efficient, and extremely helpful. We thank you Scott for a wonderful vacation rental experience and look forward to our return next year!!

Can't say enough about this gorgeous bungalow in Hollywood! My teenager who is very hard to impress could not stop raving about the superior decorating and personal touches. Comes with everything you need for a long or short stay. Bed/bedding are top of the line and perfect after a long day of sightseeing. Kitchen is fully stocked though it is hard to eat in with so many wonderful restaurants in walking and driving distance. Location is central to everything including the Burbank airport. Scott and Hilliard are so kind and wonderfully helpful about the area and things to do. Home is gated though we would have been fine if it hadn't been as it is a quiet neighborhood with friendly folks. Will definitely stay again - thanks for the wonderful stay!!! Chris & Sierra

We - a family of 4 with 2 teenage girls - stayed in this lovely bungalow for 3 nights. It was such a pleasant surprise to find this peaceful an wonderfully decorated gem waiting for us. We arrived in the evening after having found our way through bustling LA. The bungalow is within walking distance to Kodak theatre and simply the best location for a first visit to LA. We could even park our rented car safely behind a fence in front of the bungalov. The house has all the utensils and conveniences you need to feel at home. We prepared dinner one evening and found all the utensils we needed to make the meal and to set a beautiful table thanks to the tasteful cutlery, napkins etc. that is avaible in the house. Both Scott an Hillary were very helpful and gave us tips about LA and where to celebrate July 4. We would love to stay here again when we get a chance to visit LA again.

Its clear that this property has discerning owners who are not only house proud but very creative as well. All the previous reviews are true, its a gorgeous apartment and is so close to everything we barely used our car. The apartment is very tastefully decorated and the owners have thought of pretty much everything to ensure your stay is comfortable. On arrival we were given a brief precis of the area and then shown how everything works in the apartment to ensure we were comfortable with it. There are many restaurants close by, with every type of food imaginable. Hollywood blvd is a comfortable 15 min stroll and is far more interesting at night! I would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to be close to the action, but have peace and uiet at night.

It's hard to know where to start, there are so many positives about this superb bungalow. Hilliard was there to meet and greet us and show us their wonderful labour of love, from their fully equipped modern kitchen, (and those slate tiles! the gorgeous greys with a tinge of the most delicate yellow) to the gorgeous king sized bed with the leather bed-head, harbouring the most deliciously decadent sheets beneath the chocolate brown covers. Pure heaven to sleep in. Everywhere, there was a lot of thought put into making the lucky guest as comfortable as possible, including mood lighting, music at just the right level, a barbeque outside (which we fired up one night, with a couple of slabs of tender steak and a chilled bottle of sauv blanc, purchased from Trader Joe's, just an easy walk up the road) the bathroom with the adjustable mirror lighting, just perfect for applying your make-up before you rush off in the mornings to explore everything that hollywood and it's surrounds has to offer. My husband and I agreed it was like walking straight into the pages of 'Home Beautiful'. It even has a huge remote controlled gate that seems to defy the laws of physics as it gently and smoothly opens and closes without a hitch, every time! Hilliard gave us the heads up on a really great restaurant just around the corner called 'Off Vine'. Do yourselves a favour and check it out. Yummm! Food 10/10 and staff 10/10, and if you go Monday nights, food is half price. Didn't think much of the mexican take-away up the road though. Went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at the El Capitan and was blown away by the theatre. Old world charm and absolutely beautiful. As you can tell by now, we are huge fans and will one day, hopefully not in the too distant future, be back to soak it all up again. The very reasonable rental rate is just an added bonus. I know you will love your stay at Hilliard and Scott's Hollywood Bungalow.

we were in hollywood to visit our daughter and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. it met our needs perfectly, it was very clean, beautifully decorated and spacious, having parking included was great and the location lended itself to easy walking for everything. though we didn't know at the time we reserved the property, we ended up being very grateful that this place was pet friendly. our daughter who was travelling with us had recently adopted a small dog and this ended up being the perfect place for us. it was well fenced and gated and we felt very secure that our new best friend could not get out and get lost. Thanks so much for a great place to stay, we will definitely return if we need a place in hollywood.
