For your next family reunion or friends getaway, stay at Door County Wisconsin's exclusive vacation experience- the KINNEY FARM
The KINNEY FARM offers guests a unique vacation experience on a beautiful one hundred acre estate. Conveniently located between the charming villages of Egg Harbor and Fish Creek, this private wildlife sanctuary is one of a kind with its three separate topographical elevations. The lower forty acres features a renovated farmhouse and old dairy barn, fields of corn, and native grasses. The second elevation includes woods and a natural meadow. Undisturbed forest, wandering fields, and a sloping bluff best describes the 'upper' forty acres.
You'll feel like a time traveler staying at this distinctive hundred year old farmhouse. There are five bedrooms, four updated baths, a living room, den, wet bar, and country kitchen. All rooms are lovingly decorated with antiques, interesting art, vintage nautical and equestrian items.
For your enjoyment, both the den and living room have native stone fireplaces in addition to flat screen TVs. We provide an all age video library (DVD & VHS) , along with a variety of CDs, novels, and books on local history. There are cards, board games, and puzzles for all ages, but you have a hundred acres to explore!
Plan to hike, hunt for arrowheads, and gather antlers. In the den you'll find binoculars, bird watching manuals, and a telescope to view the abundant wildlife and incredibly bright stars.
Parents with young children are comforted by the expansive 'yard' for them to play within view of the house.
The well appointed kitchen has two full sized refrigerators, a large oven, and a separate eating area. While the whole house fan and individual room fans will handle any warm days, you'll want to bring an extra sweater for those cooler evenings 'dining out' on the fully screened porch.
You may prefer to gather around the outdoor fire pit with your family and friends to roast marshmallows, star gaze, or simply reconnect.
Its a short walk down Juddville road to the Green Bay shoreline, take your fishing pole or kayak. There are multiple public boat launches, all less than 4 miles from the farm. Kinney Farms long circular drive provides easy access and parking for your boat trailer. Off the back porch, you'll find both a gas and charcoal grill for cooking your 'catch of the day'.
While this property is pet friendly, including a fenced double dog run, we ask that you check with us about specific requirements when making reservations.
Door County is a vacation paradise with much to offer. In the house, we share a list of our favorite local places and activities for your consideration.
After a day in the village or on the water, its comforting to know that you can come back to what our guests refer to as 'A Little Piece of Heaven'-- the KINNEY FARM.

We have stayed at Kinney Farm twice now and expect to stay again in the near future. We love Kinney Farm for the following reasons - 1. It's far from anything or anybody else. 2. We can bring the dogs. (We have two full size Collies) 3. The house is immaculately clean and comfortable. 4. There is more than enough space in the kitchen and the kitchen has everything we need. (we love to cook) The group that stayed at the farm was of all ages. Everybody enjoyed staying. The house is spacious, well maintained and furnished. Very quiet and completely restful. A short walk to the shoreline or a bike ride into Fish Creek. We used the screened porch all the time even though we stayed when it was slightly chilly.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We took Liz's idea to walk down to the waterfront after dinner. Walking down the hill is definitely easier than walking up, but what a great way to burn calories. The bedrooms aren't large and could best be described as cozy. Definitely big enough for us, especially since we spent waking hours downstairs, outdoors, or in town. It would be nice if they accepted credit cards, but I can understand not doing so because it isn't managed by a corporation or owned by someone with multiple properties. It shows that Kinney Farm is owned and maintained by the Kinneys. They were very easy to deal with and I hope to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I'm glad our pride shows. We feel very lucky to have Kinney Farm and enjoy being able to share it with our guests. Liz

This is our second stay at Kinney Farm, it was just as much fun as the first. We really enjoy Door County and while last time we ate most of our meals at the house, this time we decided to check out the local restaurants. One daily stop was Woods Orchard Market which is about 2 miles from the farm. We each picked out what flavor slice of pie we wanted and brought it back to the house for dessert or even for breakfast. I really recommend their cherry chocolate fudge. They make it there. We brought some home to put in the freezer but it didn't last long. Delicious. Villagios restaurant is within walking distance so we went there more than once. We hadn't seen the corn fields at the farm before. That was a nice treat for suburbanites. The Kuerig coffee machine is also a nice addition. If we can't make it evey year, we'll definitely try for every other year. Thank you.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: You and you're family are always welcome. Liz

Thanks to the Kinney family for providing such a warm wonderful place for another "Cousins Great Adventure". We try to get together every other year for a few days. The Kinney Farm was the perfect place. Spacious home, perfectly maintained and furnished. Quiet and restful yet only a short walk to the bay shoreline or a short drive or bike ride into Fish Creek. The huge screened porch is the room we used the most. Thanks again Liz and John for providing this wonderful place where you realize once again just how important family is.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words, Greg. That screened porch has been host to so many wonderful memories. The solitude and view is unmatched. We feel lucky to be able to share it with our guests. We hope to see you next year.

Our group has visited Door County several times in the past 10 years. Driving past Kinney Farm, we were delighted to find it now available as a vacation rental home. It's a beautiful place. We came up for Memorial Day weekend, watched the parade in town, and later enjoyed grilling brats and burgers at the farm. Although the weather was a little chilly, we launched our boat in Fish Creek. The circular drive made parking the boat trailer and everyones cars easy. The house was bigger than it looked on the outside, very clean, and full of interesting details. We have already recommended Kinney Farm to our friends.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Scott and Lisa Thank you for your review, and recommendations. We enjoyed having your party stay at Kinney Farm. Liz Kinney

I've known the Kinneys for many years through the Chicago Yacht Club where Gene (father) was Commodore. It wasn't until this past year that we had the opportunity to go up to Door County and stay at the farm. What a wonderful place. My kids and grandkids all had plenty to do and room to do it in. We had a large group (12) and never felt crowded. Hopefully, we can all get together and do it again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Art, it was our pleasure having you.

I appreciated the professional manner in which our initial contact, questions, and booking was handled. Our particular group was made of older couples. Kinney Farm allowed us to revisit some of our childhood memories of a simpler life. We took advantage of activities in the area, but then enjoyed coming "home" to the farm. Nothing beats that screened porch. That's where we gathered for coffee, cocktails, and conversation. Its been a long time since we've seen so many stars. Being close enough to the water to hear it as we drifted off to sleep at night was delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Ron, thank you for the card and for volunteering to write a review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. You're welcome back anytime! Liz

We met Liz (owner) at a horse show and decided to check out Kinney Farm this year. The house was clean, unique, and relaxing. Having four bathrooms is a big plus when you have 3 daughters! The deer antler my youngest found is a great momento sitting on our mantle at home. Renting the farm will become a new family tradition for us.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

"A little piece of Heaven" accurately describes this property. We were looking for a unique vacation destination, and we got it at Kinney Farm. There wasn't a day when we didn't see turkeys, deer, or both. The kids had plenty of room to roam while we adults watched and relaxed on that fantastic screened porch/room. There's an incredible amount of history in the house. We also appreciated the listing of the owners favorite local places and activities. It helped us in making decisions on where to eat and shop. The only problem was our stay was too short. We will definitely return next summer!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Ann, Thank you for sharing photos with us. We especially enjoyed the one at the base of the windmill where everyone extended their arms to make a "human" windmill. Too cute! Liz

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1960
About the owner: Our parents purchased this property in the early 1960's as a wonderful place to enjoy our summers as a family. Since then, our extended families have enjoyed spending that same quality time at the farm with our children and friends. We are very proud of the Kinney Farm and wish to share this unique opportunity with you, your friends, and family. Liz Kinney & John Kinney
Why the Owner Chose Fish Creek:
DOOR COUNTY-
While only 10 miles across, Door County has more than 300 miles of shoreline, 10 historic lighthouses, 5 state parks, and several small islands. The county consists of 24 towns/villages and has a permanent population of about 29,000.
In addition to boating and fishing (with charters available), there are several places to rent kayaks, bikes, and mo-peds. Activities include golfing, antiquing, horseback riding, hands on art studios, and public sand beaches. There are 3 popular live-theater venues, a rare drive-in outdoor movie theater, galleries, quaint restaurants, fish boils, cherry picking, and numerous local festivals. There are activities for all ages!

The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
We enjoy hiking around the perimeter of the property. Making it easier to stay within the property, we've wrapped tree trunks with orange pastic snow fencing, usually within sight of other wrapped trees. Holding on to small trees makes it easier while decending the bluff side. It's challenging but fun. The less adventurous and novice hikers may want to stay on paths and walk around the fields.
